Arturo Vidal

How do journos want us to believe at the United have pulled out because Juve asked 32 mil for Vidal, when we have paid similar amounts for Herrera and a 19 year old LB?

Do these idiots even think if it is believable or not before writing?

This same journo that wrote the Vidal off article in the Daily Fail just wrote that Vidal's joining us less than 24 hours ago.

This may belong in another thread, but I can still van Gaal going after Strootman in January even if Vidal goes to United.

All the reports if you choose to believe it suggests Vidal wants the move, upto Juve and Us to agree on a deal.
Given the fact that Juventus are set to sign Iturbe for £22m and Morata for £14m I think they'll have to sell players as their income isn't sufficient to fund transfers like that. It's Pogba or Vidal and they'd probably rather sell a 27-year old whose value is going to drop significantly over the next two years than a 21-year old midfielder who's widely recognised as one of the best in his position and will only get better and more expensive in the next few years.

SportItalia which is a sports broadcaster in italy is saying United will offer €50m for Vidal

They would be mental not to sell Vidal this year. He will lose 10 millions per year in value from here on out, nobody is going to pay the reported 40-50 millions for a 29-30 year old. Look at RVP who in the form we bought him in was one of the best players in the World but went for peanuts(22 mill) as he was 29. Had he been 27 he would have gone for a lot more if he was in that form.

One year on his deal also played a part in van Persie's transfer, I reckon if he had 3 years we'd not only not get him for £24m but not get him at all as Arsenal wouldn't sell to their rival. They'd sell abroad but it'd still have been £20m - £25m if he wanted to leave at 29.

Arturo Vidal quotes are all the rage and whilst some have been twisted to within an inch of recognition, making it hard to find the truth, it would be safe to say that he certainly sounds positive toward a Manchester United transfer. He's hinted before about other clubs such as Real Madrid so his words alone mean little. Money is what really talks here.

The balance between giving Vidal a huge new contract or receiving a huge fee from Manchester United needs to fall in favour of the latter for a transfer to happen and Tuttosport think that's where the process is right now.

The Turin newspaper say on Tuesday that Manchester United will receive a mountain of money from Adidas, but they don't think this is what it all rests on... saying the Premier League club doesn't need those funds to secure Vidal. A bid of €43m is stated but Tuttosport suggest that's come from rumours, rather than their own claim.

According to Tuttosport Fernando Felicevich, who they call a 'skilled mediator' is the one going between Juventus and Manchester United. It's claimed he's speaking to Juventus big cheese Beppe Marotta 'almost daily' by telephone and trying to create 'fertile ground' for a transfer to happen.

It's stated Manchester United are ready to launch the 'final assault' and that Vidal would be paid €5m per season after tax, already agreed, and get a bonus on top of that.

Sky Sports transfer centre reporting the move is off. Cocks in lads :(

Every year seemingly without fail we have a saga like this now. A world class signing that would make complete sense and step us up a level, it will drag on for weeks and then the end result is signing Fellaini. FML

They're just reporting that other papers are reporting it...

Sportitalia - United will offer 50 million for Vidal!

They tell me that England will present an offer from Manchester United for 50 million Vidal, a contract with him for 8 to 9 million per season." He reveals Alfredo Pedulla, during the "special transfers" broadcast on Sportitalia.

About 250 cause we will sort it out soon.

Finally a sensible poster.

Couldn't believe the amount of shit I had to dredge through in this through this morning.

It's been clear as day he's a United player for the last 3 days, a bullshit article from the Daily Mail and everyone gives up all hope.

Have a word with yourselves. This is a certainty. Absolutely nailio onio.

Isn't that just gossip from a few sources?

It is: "Welcome to Tuesday's live transfer blog and we begin with a line forManchester United fans: the Daily Mail is reporting that United have decided not to pursue a move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal with Louis van Gaal turning his attention to other targets."

If we didn't buy Kroos for 20 million anddont get vidal we still have a poor squad IMO. We need top class, like scholes said, Kroos is like him and we missed out

Are they quoting other sources?

I think we need Vidal more than Kroos.

Saying we have a "poor" squad is ridiculous. Signing Vidal will take it up a few echelons though.

We also didn't need Mata but we bought him because you dont pass up on those things, Kroos should have been a United player. He will and is the new scholes and will run games. Sure we need vidal but that isn't happening, we already had the groundwork of this done.

We got Herrera who is a similar player to Kroos. Now we need Vidal.

I don't have a clue what's going on anymore  this will drag out a while by the looks of it.

It makes sense from a club's perspective on the day we signed a world record kit deal to let it be known that we're not going to be some sort of PSG in the transfer market for clubs to name any price they want and expect it paid. This is all I think this public hard-ball is about.

I'd rather we told Madrid to feck off and refused to pay €60m for Di Maria rather than lowball Juventus for Vidal. We're not doing that though, I'm pretty sure.

I don't think we're lowballing anyone just sending a general 'we still won't let you take the piss despite rolling in it' warning to everyone.

Exactly. We've got the player on board, we've got his agent mediating the deal, we've got something they clearly want in the form of Evra, that's a lot of leverage.

Now while everyone here wants us to spunk "whatever it takes", we just don't want to set that precedent for future deals. As long as we have Evra, we have them at the table so if Woodward can get him for a price that suits us, it will not just save us "a few million" on this deal but "a few million" on the next deal too and the one after that.
