Arturo Vidal

THIS!!!! Precisely why I don't think we're going to buy Vidal. We have too many No. 10s who are all very good and if we were to play Vidal and Herrera behind them then either the two box-to-box midfielders will see less of the ball, or the creative number 10 will and in each scenario you're not getting the best out of the individual player.

You can play two box to box players with a 10. It just means 1 up top rather than 4-4-2.

It's van Gaal's preferred formation, a 4-3-3 with a forward point as he's stated lots of times before.

Some cry babies in here

No-one knows what the feck is going on. That's the simple truth. Relax, kick back and enjoy the ride fellow muppets - King Arthur is probably chatting to his agent as we speak regarding a move to us.

Plus LVG is back tomorrow. We got this.

If he was our player and we were following the media saga as we have been the last week from that perspective, everyone on here would be resigned to losing him.

Vitamin C = Common Sense and I need to take it? I didn't talk nonsense, I said I remembered something being X, all you had to do was correctly me politely. I fully understand it's not FM, and I think you may have been a bit hurt when we spoke previously as you seem to be quite emotional, so I'll leave you to it ;)

Meh, tried politely with you, didn't work the last time. Stupidity can't be cured by politeness anyway.

Agreed.

Exactly.

Unfortunately some here struggle to differentiate between FM and Real World and think that transfer business is an easy thing.

At @Sir A1ex  @ the date. Thought it had been a long 5 days!

Regardless, as an actual solid transfer saga it only really started properly last week with initial interest starting after The Dutch played Chile.

Exactly.

It's the "I want it and I want it NOW" issue with people of today. No patience. We might land him, we might not. But the world will keep turning and I am pretty sure Van Gaal knows what to do to make us competitive again.

I think Khedira may move, dont know why,gut feeling.

And Barca need a proper rebuild and hed fit perfectly into that system prob giving that extra bite and dynamic drive they are lacking.
Or barca could play mascherano in midfield where as the world cup showed he is pretty awesome

........busquets...mascherano......
.....................iniesta.................
..neymar......Messi......suarez

If van Gaal wants Vidal, great, if he doesn't, no problem. I trust van Gaal to get the balance right in our team, there's no point shoe horning players into our team just cause they're superstars, we ain't frickin Real Madrid.

Exactly.

The funny thing is, if you try to sign a player on FM, by the time you state your interest, enquire, bid, negotiate, negotiate with the player and seal the deal, around 10 - 15 days passes.

Yup.

FFS people believed that we think 34m is too much for Vidal when we've paid that much amount for an 18yr old fullback in the same window, some here are asking for "concrete" news and official from the player himself as if the player is going to say "feck Juve, I want to join United". The same thing happened in the Shaw thread when people kept on asking for "official" think inspite of it being clear that the deal was done ages ago.

We've had the best transfer window in years and we're only in July right now and still people are getting impatient.

No, my initial point was incorrect, RVP was quite lengthy, but my point was to compare the profile/calibre of players, RVP and Vidal are WC, so Shaw wouldn't be relevant, but if RVP was longer than I thought, surely that gives more footing to this Vidal rumour...

I don't think that is the right way to look at it. Just because a player is WC and it's taking long does not mean we will pull it off. Plus RvP was easier since he was in the last year of his contract and there were not too many suitors.

And also not on holiday...

Read a post from some clown yesterday that said we needed to bring in another 7 players to go with the 2 already in, give me strenght!

It would be pretty funny if we refused to meet a (reasonable) asking price after we've just fleeced Addidas for an absurd amount of money.

I know mate he really showed what a great dmf he is and that team looks serious.

Stick Vidal instead of busquets though and that front four becomes a five, with Alves and Alba bombing on and Mascherano holding in front of the cbs makes for a frightening team.

Or with Xavi on the way out Stick Mascherano back in Cb and keep there classic 3 in middle

------------Busquets-----------
----Vidal------------Iniesta----
Suarez------Messi-----Neymar

We may be briefing we are walking away in an attempt to lower the fee. Why we are bothering over a couple of million ill never know, but it does strike me of the type of thing Woodward would do.

Time will tell.

For people still questioning to mail the biggest heading they ever had on the football side (font size) was ''WORLD EXCLUSIVE!! Sneijder will sign for United today, just like we told you weeks ago'' and we all know how that turned out.

The same Woodward who paid 30m for Shaw and paid out the buyout clause for Herrera?

Indeed. I'm convinced half the world's population under the age of 30 have ADHD and there seems to be a desire with some to have us turn into the footballing equivalent of The Harlem Globetrotters. Leave that nonsense to the likes of City I say. LVG is a team builder and clearly is a man who places a lot of store in unity and that's not easy to sustain when you're in the hiring and firing line.

I would piss myself laughing if the Glazer's entire plan all along was to get the Chevy and Adidas deals sewn up and then not spend another single penny for ten years, and just walk away with the £1.25bn those two companies are paying us.

MegaLols!

Can't see us not paying £34million when the original quotes were as much as £45m. I'd gladly have us pay £34m + Nani to sign this guy and I'm sure the club will identify Vidal (or another top midfield player) as their primary target still. I guarantee we would have to pay more than £34million for Hummels and probably for Di Maria too.... Doesn't make much sense.

The same Woodward who paid 30m for Shaw and paid out the buyout clause for Herrera?

Yes but he only paid £37m for Mata and Mata is world class. #redcafelogic.

A few million is still a lot of money though. I think that as a club, we don't want to be seen as a Chelsea or Real Madrid, that we will just throw insane amounts of money around. If we do that for Juve/Vidal, then every club afterwards will demand silly fees.

Hmm. That doesn't sound very funny. Are you sure you know what funny means?

To me, funny is taking long walks on the beach with your girl, but you don't have a girl... so you're actually talking a long walk on the beach with a girl, but you don't actually know any girls... so you're actually just keeping pace with some random person who is walking along the beach and pretending to yourself that they're your everything.

Women.

Don't forget Aon, they name our training facility!!!!

£35m would be the bargain of the season, not only would he be the best player to move during the window but the benefit of a club extremely weak in midfield signing the best possible player money can buy would be immense.

The same Woodward who paid 30m for Shaw and paid out the buyout clause for Herrera?

Why quibble over a few million then? I think we all know this deal will fall between 30m-40m and i think we are agreed he is most certainly worth it. For a few of the papers to go with the same thing then its been leaked by someone. It may not be Woodward but its serving a purpose leaking that type of news. I can only assume its either true or we are haggling on price.

Are we sure we are not stalling the deal because Juve's price tag for Vidal is too low? :wenger:

None of the United crew- Ducker, Ogden, Ladyman isn't reporting it. Not sure if it's the club who is briefing this.
