Berbatov | Fulham player

Got no problem with him walking out. He was dealt with some heartbreaking news.

Either way I don't think he would have made the impact people may now say he could have done.

Apparently he left before Kick Off. Great. Now we'll have to buy another striker as well.

Oh, now I heard that too from the reporter. I don't blame Berbatov and is not angry for him leaving early. Fergie might be though..

Other players dealt with it fine he didn't you don't walk out on your team mates like that. I like Berba but you don't do that.

Yep.

Unless he's been told that he's on his way out of OT, his duty is to support the team. I'm a Berba fan, but better and more established United players have coped with this kind of disappointment well.

oh noes here comes the berbatov-fergie bust-up stories coming up tomorrow

There was an interview with him a week or so ago when he said he would honour his contract at least - but if he walked out against Fergie's word, that is certainly not a smart thing to do...

He just pulled off a Ruud. He'll be off now. So that 200m better be put to good use then.

Striker can be added to the list of players we need.

Do we? if Berbatov does leave and we sign young, we have a player that can fill the gap in through the middle if Rooney is injured, and if we Hernandez gets injured we can play Rooney or Owen up top. We also have Diouf and Welbeck.

Let's not be too quick to crucify Berbatov. Wait for the facts but if true does not bold well.

If he left the stadium he'll be sold. If he is the striker to leave, then I suspect Owen and Kiko will be kept and Welbeck return as expected.

He's only human, with something of a Med. type termperament probably. He must have been devastated, and maybe couldn't deal with it. Not as if him being there would have made any difference.

Why he was even surprised?

If he leaves, after this behaviour (if true), just... cheerio.

Ruud walked out on a fairly meaningless end of season game and that was the end of him at the club, this was the biggest game of the season and not really a smart move to leave the ground for. Based strictly on form in the past couple of months he certainly can't have expected to have a spot on the bench, you have to earn it, theres no room for sentiment because he had a good first half to the season.

I personally would have had him on the bench over Fletcher but you can't spit your dummy out over it, accept the decision and get behind the team.

Thats bull dust though livvie. Football is a team game and if you're not picked you get over it and prove that you're willing to fight for it. Park didn't walk out after the 08 final and he had much better shout at deserving a place.
Berbatov's issue is that he expects everything to be handed to him on a silver platter. Goals, passes etc you have to work for it, yet you watch him and constantly bitches and moans at players for not putting the ball where he wants it. He didn't earn the right to be on the bench today so instead of moping your work your bollocks off so next time you show up and get picked on merit.

If you're not willing to stay, support and back up your team mates in the biggest game of the season because of your own personal grievances, then perhaps he should be looking for another club. No player is bigger then the team!

That shouldnt matter. Making a difference or not. You stay there to show your support. Or does he only care if he's in the squad?

As I said, I fully understand and feel for his exclusion but you've got to be there if your team is playing the CL final. Lots of other united players have taken it well in the past, its poor on his part if this is true. Besides, he's set it up for himself, as much as I like him, he's never done it in the big games, so it was more or less expected when the choice came down to him and Owen.

Im in a shit mood now and I have defended him thus far tonight. But yeah he can go be fecked.

Although I had predicted he would be gone this summer quite a few months ago. He has never been a true Utd player and I dont think he ever will be.

As I said I am delighted his 1st half of this season has justified his being with us.

He can do one now for all I care

Yeah relax. Just a silly rumor it was

Sir Alex Ferguson denies Berbatov left early. "He's in the dressing room." #

Ferguson says it's not true Berbatov left before the end . . 'he's in the dressing room'

I understand him completely. Fergie was wrong on this one. He shouldn't have left him out.

it be a risk selling him but not finding a proven replacement.

Obviously we need to wait for details, but he has no excuse, there were several other lads that also got told they wouldn't be on the bench, none of them left.

I do remember that Nani left at half time when we were playing Spurs in 2009 and he got taken off, Fergie was lenient but Nani is young, right now I imagine Fergie is in a rage so hopefully Berbatov keeps clear of him if he did indeed leave.

He's dome well for us this season fair play. But to leave before kick-off? What the feck. feck off. That's not the united spirit that's not how we do things. Terrible from him if true, which is it probably is cuz I never saw him.

Get rid if he's going to be like that. We need a team spirit, not someone who storms off because he didn't get picked.

I'm pretty drunk and may retract this but I highly highly doubt it

Edit: oh if he was in dressing room that's cool but twitter was saying he left before kick off? I never saw him as well. So...

There's no value in selling him, 30 years old and a fantastic footballer when he's in form. What would we get, £8M-10M? No point at all with all the class he's got.

He's a disgrace and should be fired out of a cannon!!!!!!!!!

Erm...I lub u, Berbie. xxx

Darren Bent would be a better replacement. Scoff all you want. But his role now is the odd home game against lesser sides or off the bench.

Hand on heart who would you prefer comimg off the bench Berbs or Bent??

He did not take his place on the seats behind the subs with Brown (who has far more reason to be pissed for how his 12 years of service has turned out), Rafael and O'Shea (likewise with Brown)

That was in the first half too when they showed that wasn't it?

Bad night for wr8 as well; consistently beaten to the twitter quote by other posters #notgoodenough

Got to be honest, I really don't get picking Owen over Berbatov.

Berbatov's had a very good season and despite having three months of being second to the excellent Rooney/Hernandez combination, he's been a victim of circumstances really. His level of performance has hardly dropped visibly, he's just not as good as on fire Wayne Rooney. No one else in our team or squad is.

But to pick Micheal Owen over him in the season's biggest match, well, it's a huge kick in the teeth and a massive vote of no confidence. Owen's done feck all this season to deserve a place on the bench over Berbatov. Fergie's picked up a stop gap option over someone who has, for the most part, genuinally been a productive part of the first team squad. I can't come to any other conclusion that Fergie really does not fancy him(which the first two thirds of the season indicates is not so) or something has gone on behind closed doors prior to the final.

Genuinally can't see him being a United player next season now and in all honesty I don't see how that benefits us much unless we go out and buy another striker.

even if he stay, he go next summer as his contract run out and it does not look like we be extending it.

I think Berbatov has made a good contribution this season so I'd be happy for him to stay, regardless of whether he did, or did not, walk out of the stadium.
