we should get berbatov to hand in a transfer request..that'll teach the spurs cnuts.

Why was today THE day? Because United are leaving for Africa?
No idea.

... Thanks for the updates. So far your sources seem to not be as "in the know" as Cockneyhammer on Tevez.
Well, CH was wrong about Berbatov joining you in January and wrong about Spurs signing Anton Ferdinand (as if we ever would) a few weeks ago. In both cases the Spurs ITKs were right, just as they've been right about Dos Santos, Gomes, Bent, Kaboul and many other transfers, and just as I expect them to be right about Bentley.

Transfers are a complicated business and nothing can be 100% correctly predicted. We shall see what happens.

 @ ITK Spurs fans.

Anyone could have cobbled together all that bollox from buying the Sunday World over the last fortnight. And they quite probably have.
There are several people with a proven and largely consistent track-record. We're not talking here about some random collection of Spurs fans making wild guesses based on media speculation.

But don't let that stop you from displaying as much scepticism as you wish.

The ITK concerned has made no further comments, which from one way of looking at it means no back-tracking.

However, a different ITK has this morning said MUFC have given Spurs a take it or leave it offer and the first reports of our response are words to effect of "bye bye fergie".

I realise that on this forum mention of Spurs ITK info is usually met with howls of derision, but both of these ITKs are respected, with a good track record.

Make of it what you will.

That's the same line the papers have preaching the last couple of days. So your ITK reads the papers does he?

Jesus Christ.....£28 million we're being taken for total mugs.

And for the record, he is NOT as good as Bergkamp.

Time will tell old boy

I rather have had Santa Cruz

CANTONA!

Like real are trying to with ronaldo?? yeah great idea :smirk:

Its a done deal glasto. Keeping berbatov at this stage would actually be detrimental because his attitude would slump even lower. Its the worst game of poker being played out. Everyone knows how this will pan out, just getting the best deal.

Wish i could fast forward a couple of weeks. Anyone who thinks a 28milion pound deal will break down over 1 or 2 million needs their head tested.

The main way of increasing the club's value prior to any sale is by having everything in place - finance, a site and planning permission - for a new, increased capacity stadium, since this would bring about a guaranteed large increase in annual turnover. This it was the club are now arranging, with planning permission expected this Autumn for a new stadium to be built on land the club have already acquired right next door to the current stadium.
Heigh ho Tonto, being the loan arranger isn't going to get you a big pile of silver.

I just hope that this isn't going to rumble on for the whole summer.

If we want him we should just pay the fecking money or just move onto other targets.

I really don't want us starting next season with only Rooney and Tevez as recognised strikers.

Aye, cause last season was a disaster.

Hehe so all it took was a youtube video, can we then perhaps say that you hadn't actually watched enough Spurs games to really understand how good he is?

Eh?

'all it took was a youtube video
' what are you on about?

I'm slowly coming round tho the idea simply because it seems inevitable that the transfer will happen, and I may as well be pleased about it. I'm forcing my self to be happy if you like. Still £28 million is a joke.

It may well have been without Ronaldos 42 goals.

It could have been had Tevez and Rooney both got injured at the same time.

Do you want to take that chance this year?

Just because we got away with it dont make it right

 I knew that would get a response!

It's fairly bleeding obvious we could do with a more resilient alternative to Saha. And that's assuming we hold onto Ronaldo.

If Berbatov is that new striker then I, for one, will be fecking delighted :D

What you have to consider is, we didnt just 'cope' last season. We were fantastically successful.

It doesnt really matter who we bring in. Even if we signed someone for £7 million it'd be helping us out big time with striker depth.

Eggzackerly. And that's without considering the not inconsiderable talents of wee Frazier Cambell and massive Manucho Concalves.

To be fair even if one of Tevez or Rooney had gotten injured for last stretch of the season, we could have missed out on both of the trophies. And we overworked our front three anyway. I won't be totally against not buying anyone and just throwing in Manucho and Campbell. But given that we don't need to strengthen any other area in our team, spending the cash on a proven striker makes sense.

Most of the time United pay over the odds I believe is out of goodwill, maintain a harmonious relationship and image.

Just a hunch. Spurs are digging in their heels and United will not pay so much for a 27-yr old.

We'll still end up signing him. SAF wants him, The player wants to join us and Spurs will sell to raise cash for other targets.

What could be holding it all up is Liverscums interest in Keane. Spurs won't (Quite rightly) sell there two best strikers until adequate top quality replacements are found.

If Rio had gotten injured we probably would have missed out on both the trophies.

If Ronaldo had gotten injured we probably would have missed out on both the trophies.

If VDS had gotten injured we probably would have missed out on both the trophies.

and so.

We do need another striker because Saha is unreliable but we didn't just cope or strike lucky last season.

When was the last time WE walked away from a major mega million pound deal over price?? Think about it carefully.

Once we identify someone we want its because we've identified how they will fit into the side...you dont suddenly switch from spending 28mil on one player to another because we dont want to pay 2 or 3 million more.

A deal will be reached. Put your mortgages on it...and your children.

We don't even know if united have made a bid FFS

Liverscum is such a tacky, plastic name.
