Bluemoon goes into Meltdown

I would agree that some City fans have a certain sense of paranoia. I think there is a degree of justification for this based on the media's desire to appeal to as much of the public as possible (that being Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal fans..etc). BT Sport's abysmal coverage of City in the Champions League being a good example but recent articles in the Mirror and Mail being more contemporary examples. Whether the feeling will change, who knows but when your club is often portrayed as some sort of malign outsider then it seems natural to assume the role of an outsider.

Your final sentence is truly preposterous. Every single City fan is completely comfortable in their skin and quite happy with their club's history.

When BT shelled out for the CL rights i'm sure they expected the big clubs to be in it more often than not.

It's like paying big money to see some Hollywood star perform on the West End. On taking your seat there is an announcement that the star will not be performing & his part will be played by the under-study. You are still seeing the show but it's lost some of it's sparkle.

It's come as a huge disappointment to them to see teams like City, Spurs, & Leicester to a lesser extent, gaining entry. Spurs have had awful results but at least have sold out Wembley. In the case of leicester, the fairytale was allowed to go on a little further. City have been a total embarrassment though. Results have been garbage & most home games played out in a half empty stadium. BT did their part in shelling out the cash. You didn't give them value for money though.

You seem to be confused in regards History & Existing. City have existed for many years. Apart from the odd year here & there you go down as a complete failures in the history books. If you don't get it, this is not the kind of history you want to be known for.

I think the main point is that, when City won the lottery the supporters on Bluemoon expected City to dominate like we had, that obviously didn't happen and I think they've got even more bitter because no matter how much money they spend they have yet to win Back to back titles or even make a major impact in Europe.

what was BT Sport's abysmal coverage of city in the champions league?

unbelivable that they dare to talk about that topic at all. when have they ever given a youngstar from their acadamy a proper chance?
They completely ruined Rodwell and Sinclair, who seemed to have a good future ahead of them.

I had a bigger impact on Europe when i was in Greece for two weeks back in 09

people tune in to watch city and they get a chorus of boos for the CL anthem, still after the new messiah pep told them to get over it, but they chose not to. Like you say, why would that endear people to city as a new entity? Their own fans are apathetic, why would anyone else big them up

Not Bluemoon but City fans on Twitter raging at their club's account because it promoted the fact that if fans in the UK want to watch tonight's game they can do so on MUTV.

Shows how small time they are.

Oh I am definitely posting that on my facebook page....

Another reason to hate us, apparently its because we bid ridiculous amounts of money to show all United games on MUTV exclusively.

They're so pathetic. Last season we had 78 yellows and 2 reds compared to their 71 and 4 and suddenly we're hatchet merchants who try and break everyone's legs.

I bet they still tell their kids the story of Keane ending Haaland's career at night, even though it's not true.

It's true if they believe it. Same as Fergie time, that they have the most Mancunians supporting them and that the power has shifted across the City.

This is comical excellence stuff.. Paddy C could make some of them toss their TV out of the window.

David, my post seems to have been misunderstood to a large extent, possibly my inarticulate English. The post I replied to was derogatory toward City fans as a result of posts on Red Cafe that were selective quotes from Blue Moon. I made the point that anyone could quote another forum and make the posters look like idiots. There are many embarrassing posters here, namco, cybersomething, the bloke from Norway who is a 'huge' Utd fan and the one with charlton and best in his username for example. I know that Charlton has a couple of forums with widely digressing views but does that mean Card fans are poor or non-Card fans are idiots?

Your final sentence is truly preposterous. Every single City fan is completely comfortable in their skin and quite happy with their club's history. Manchester City have represented the blue half of Manchester for nearly 150 years. The club has had periods of success and periods of decline. History does not equate to trophies. I loved the club as much when I watched them at Wycombe and Luton in Division two (and Charlton in the second tier I think), as I do now. Presumably, you are jealous of Crystal Palace in the PL and Millwall in the Championship based on that statement and feel that Palace and Millwall are superior clubs?

Blue Moon is a fan's forum. It represents a section of the support. Its members largely go to the games or come from Manchester and went to games before they moved elsewhere. Yes, there are a lot of vitriolic posts toward United. Do you expect anything else?

Some good questions there

As a Charlton fan my whole life is in a constant state of depression to the extent I can't really be arsed about Crystal Palace and Millwall

My whole football experience is game by game

Winning trophies is something that will never happen so I'm quite happy if we win a game...end of

That's it

My Dad was an Arsenal fan and growing up football for him wasn't the be all and end all

He worked hard to look after us and frankly that was more important back then (David Court was his favourite player hence the name)

And he didn't think it was his job to brainwash me into supporting Arsenal

I chose Charlton and that's it...once you choose you choose

As for my observations on City.....as fans I suspect they still can't quite believe their luck to be at the top of the tree and it tends to show in their attitude

They have a bit of an inferiority complex, like someone who's been invited to the top table but anxious because they don't know what cutlery to use...

Read the first comment, from big Ian on this article..I know this isn't off blue moon, but I thought it was refreshingly honest. I was thinking earlier today exactly how obscene Guardiola is,basically spending and buying, all the while trying to hide behind the facade of a master tactician .. big fraud and I think in a few years it's gonna end in rivers of tears for city.
If guardiola fails after this outlay(January to come yet)then he has to be finished. .

I smell Rag

David Pizarro came by my friend's flat the other day in Santiago to pick up a painting of himself and Totti that she'd made. He didn't speak a word of English, seems his time at City was the worst of his career.

city fans asking for their own TV station...

It'd get like 1,000 subscriptions. Their current players wouldn't even have a clue who the likes of Shaun Goater are. They have very little history to brag about.

City fans boo the champions league anthem? Just... why? :wenger:

Because they believe that UEFA is against them
It's a bit more complex than that.

Yeah, there are some stupid fans who boo the Champions' League anthem because they think group stage draws are somehow rigged against us and that UEFA referees seek to knock us out. Some people booing it do so because of high ticket prices and general corruption within the organisation.

The majority, however, have always jeered the anthem since the infamous game vs. CSKA Moscow where, because of CSKA Moscow's offence, we were ordered to play the game behind closed doors two weeks before the game was due to take place. Despite this, CSKA had 200 fans inside the ground.

To make matters worse, UEFA then refused to reimburse any City fans who'd bought tickets and booked hotels/flights for the game, despite it being announced at such short notice that the game would be played behind closed doors.

The meaning behind the booing has become blurred, and I don't bother with the booing or chanting anymore, but there's more reasons than just "City fans are small time and think UEFA hate them."

I admit my view may be tainted by the City fans I know. Although frankly all of those bar high ticket prices (I am not sure how much UEFA has to do with that), seem completely pointless to boo about. Whilst I get the frustration at the CSKA thing, why didn't City just reimburse you, arguably not their fault in any way but it would have been the generous thing to do. Hardly short of a few bob, but I guess no club would do that nowadays

They're in a rage over the fact they've been told to watch the City-United friendly on MUTV.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...e-can-i-watch-it-what-time-mutv-a7848811.html

I'd rather give foreplay to a sheep than watch RagTV. i dismissed the 'out of touch with the fans' thread as nonsense ... now i'm starting to wonder ...

Anyone who pays for ragtv should hang their heads in shame.

I've just subscribed to Rag TV.

I'm looking forward to hearing Paddy Crerand, Lou Macari, Dwight York and Brian Robson giving an unbiased pundits review of the game. And Phil Neville and Ryan Giggs commentating on the game itself.

I'd rather boil my bollocks in a deep fat fryer

Slag the club off all season and then subscribe to MUTV in the summer.

Post modern supporting.

I'd rather fart in my boss his face.

It it's even more tragic that City doesn't broadcast it on City TV, making "fans" like you acting as desperate as a Cityfan subscribing to ... wait a minute?!

Do they offer MUTV in Manchester? Or is it only available in London?

some of the points were justified to be miffed with at the time. Not to keep up the vendetta though, even their own manager told them to grow up. Uefa, Fergie, Gill, the FA etc are not to blame for the embarrasing support in number and voice of their team people witness each time theres a big live game at etihad
