Ian Hislop said it better than I could in the clip above, I do not need to respect or be happy to abide by the referendum decision and cannot as it was pure idiocy on the grandest scale we have ever witnessed. That there are people who still think we are somehow winning, a Charlie Sheen like level of self delusion, depresses the feck out of me.
We already have control of our borders, that we do a piss poor job of it is not the EU's fault. I don't see a problem with working EU migrants paying taxes, in fact I don't really see a problem with any migrants who have thus far come to this country, our problem is with our own idle who refuse to do a decent day's work. I also don't see us signing any agreement with the EU that won't entail us maintaining the same reciprocal open border for EU workers that we already have.
I don't see a huge problem with our EU payments, we had a better deal with the rebates than any of the other net contributors and the whole idea of the union is that longer term we all improve and become stronger together. I saw far more good coming from Europe than I see from our own politicians and far more protection from Europe in stopping our politicians taking the piss. I have no doubt we are worse off out and a cast iron certainty that we will all be shelling out more of our hard earned trying to keep this country afloat for the forseeable future than the EU would have ever taken from us.
Please, we've asked a million times, name one of these pieces of EU legislation you have so much issue with? All I have seen in the EU is attempts to even the markets out and make things safer and fairer for everyone, I sit on CEN committees within the Civil Engineering industry and whilst they are rather long winded talking shops they are also ultimately fair and have everyone's best interests at heart.
