Bundesliga 13/14

Final Day Tomorrow: There's bound to be a drama around the CL/Europa and Relegation playoff places.

Bayern Munich vs Stuttgart - Stuttgart are safe, expect a Bayern win
Hannover 96 vs SC Freiburg - Deadwood
Wolfsburg vs M'gladbach - Both fighting for CL place, perhaps less certain (more like near-impossible) for Gladbach.
Hertha vs Dortmund - Deadwood
Schalke 04 vs Nurnberg - Schalke fighting for automatic CL qualification while Nurnberg is fighting for relegation.
Bayer Leverkusen vs Werder Bremen - Leverkusen fighting for CL qualification. Expect Leverkusen to win. (unless they bottle it again)
Mainz 05 vs Hamburger SV - Mainz fighting for EL, Hamburg fighting for relegation.
Augsburg vs Frankfurt - Augsburg fighting for EL. Expect them to win.
Hoffenheim vs Braunschweig - Braunschweig fighting for relegation. Hope they can beat the odds.
Considering how boring the title race has been, I find this last match day is surprisingly exciting!

Re: the fight for 4th position:
The match in Gladbach-Wolfsburg last December has been already highly entertaining (2-2), and I hope for a similarly exciting one today. Both teams must win to secure their very slim chance for the 4th spot. Favre's team is fully fit, Hecking's team still suffers from Malanda's injury IMO; they had a run when he was fit. Don't believe that Werder will win it in Leverkusen but a draw may be possible; this would be sufficient for Wolfsburg to go through.

Re: relegation:
First time relegation for HSV will be harder for their supporters than for Nürnberg fans: The latter are used to it and would be the most often relegated team if they go down to 2nd Bundesliga. Braunschweig has been realistic from the start, and their fans will celebrate this Bundesliga season after 38 years of absence from it in any case.

Interesting is also who in 2nd Bundesliga will get 2nd and 3rd: Will underdog Paderborn secure their 2nd position? Amazing what they've achieved with one of the lowest 2nd Bundesliga budgets.

I'm going to miss the relegation fight today, shame. Really wanted to see who is getting that 16th place, although I think Hamburg and Nurnberg will lose today. Hoffenheim really have nothing to play for so Braunscweig might surprise a few.

The Wolfsburg - Gladbach match is anyone's guess. I'm not sure whether Gladbach can upset them away from home, but whatever happens they have still had a good season and I can't wait to see them in the EL next season.

These are the games today:

*Teams that have nothing to play for

Bayer Leverkusen v Werder Bremen
Bayern Munich
v VfB Stuttgart
FC Augsburg v Eintracht Frankfurt
Hannover 96
v SC Freiburg
Hertha Berlin
v Borussia Dortmund
Mainz v Hamburg SV
Schalke 04 v Nurnberg
TSG Hoffenheim v TSV Eintracht Braunschweig
VfL Wolfsburg v Borussia Monchengladbach

Fight for 3rd Place (automatic CL qualification):
Schalke and Leverkusen are fighting for 3rd place.
  • Leverkusen need to win and Schalke needs to lose for Leverkusen to finish 3rd.
  • Schalke need a draw to guarantee 3rd.
Fight for 4th Place (CL qualifying):
3 teams in this fight: Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Gladbach.
  • Gladbach would need to beat Wolfsburg and need Leverkusen to lose.
  • Wolfsburg need to beat Gladbach and need Leverkusen to lose.
  • Leverkusen need to win to guarantee 4th. A draw would be fine if Gladbach win and/or Gladbach/Wolfsburg ends in a draw
Fight for 7th Place (Europa Qualifying):
Mainz and Augsburg fighting for this.
  • Mainz need to win to guarantee 7th, if they lose, the need Ausburg to also lose. A draw would be enough if Ausburg also draw.
  • Ausburg need a win and/or draw. If Mainz draw, Ausburg need to win. If Mainz lose, Ausburg can get 7th if they draw.
Relegation Scrap (Play Off):
3 teams still fighting for 16th place: Hamburg, Nurnberg and Braunschweig.

This one is complicated because it's so close. Basically, Braunschweig and Nurnberg have to win to stand a chance of getting 16th. But they have to rely on Hamburg dropping points, Nurnberg can afford Hamburg to Draw/Lose. Braunschweig will need Nurnberg to draw/lose and Hamburg to lose.

Crucial goal for Wolfsburg!!! They're currently above Leverkusen in 4th!

fecking Hamburg  . But Hoffenheim concedes on average more than 2 goals, so there's still hope for Braunschweig.

Everytime Sky shows this fecking clock in Hamburg, I pray to god that Nürnberg and Mainz get their shit together. Braunschweig seems lost.

Ah, fecking hell. Schalke makes the second. Meanwhile Lewandowski on his way to win the goal cannon. 19th goal for him.

On a completely different note: What amateur designed these ugly Bayern shirts? One of the most hideous one I have seen in years.

Actually - as long they do not take somethink like this again...

Damn, I will be so gutted when Braunschweig goes back down. Their support alone would deserve to be in the Bundesliga. I also really like Lieberknecht.

Don´t see Schalke giving Keller the boot if they secure 3rd place. He would be a really good coach for them, though.

I know you lads don't like Rapha, but he tweeted this -

Has there been reports of it, or is he bullshitting again?
