Bundesliga 2015/2016

I thought it must be offside the way they literally refused to score that.:lol:

Horn and Karius I agree with, but Hitz!?
I wouldn't be suprised if you buy Zieler, he doesn't have the best reputation but he's a very reliable gk. He's far too good for Hannover and I can see him taking the step up, in contrast to Bürki.

I like Hitz and has been impressed with him most of the time. Horn would be my favourite, though. Love his presence on the pitch at such young age.

I've watched it now about 20 times in a row and still don't understand what's going on there. If I didn't know better, I'd be 100% convinced that Dortmund is defending their own goal there

Well I hope that's nothing serious for Reus, just doesn't seem to get a really good run of games before he gets injured again these days.

But it looks like the team usually plays a lot better without him than with him...

Well, when you are two goals up and just want to play the clock down while saving stamina it actually makes sense ;)
Yes, please. Don't score another goal. I don't want us to have the 2nd best attack in the league :(

I just hope Dortmund will kick Frankfurt's ass tonight. I also have to say I enjoy watching them more under Tuchel than I did under Klopp, they look much more in control of games, even though their chances wasting is still infuriating at times.
:D You may or may not believe it but we have the best shot conversion rate of the Bundesliga (excluding penalties and own goals).

I was very disappointed that we bought Bürki but not Horn. Friends in Cologne heard rumors last summer that we went for him and it was just a matter of days or weeks until the fee would be agreed. I do hope we go all out for him ASAP, it would be money very well spent.

Might be true if you just look at shots per game and the goals you scored, which is admittedly very high this season, but maybe it just feels differently because your guys miss chances like that header from Miki in the second half. I wonder which team in Europe creates the most clear cut chances atm? I would certainly put you in the top bracket.

Bayern has to be up there, Lewandowski alone missed way too much sitters for my liking.

We are although I don't know the exact numbers.
If you go by Opta's big chances, we've created now almost exactly the same numbers by today as in the whole season 14/15, and IIRC we convert them by pretty much the same % as last year.
If you go by expected goal models, we're over-performing or are level in almost all games.
There will always be missed chances where you think your granny would have scored. :D I also haven't forgotten how many clear cut chances Lewandowski missed while he has been playing for us (and also for Bayern), and nobody would doubt his outstanding class.

Bayern has 19.9 shots per game - 8.4 on target
Real 19.3 - 7.9 on target
Barcelona 16.9 - 7.1 on target
Dortmund 16.4 - 6.9 on target

It is the teams with the most shots on target

Bayern leads the shots in the penalty area with 174 and six yard box 33, too.
Dortmund is 7th with 143 shots in the penalty area - and second with 27 in the six yard box...

Unfortunately for not very long ... 1-1

How could Favre ignore Dahoud for so long? The guy oozes class...

He's only 19, isn't he? Favre gave him his debut when he was 18. Hardly ignoring him for long? Agree that he looks fantastic.

He's been very highly rated for years now and supporters demanded to start him since a long time. In the beginning of the season one of their midfield players (don't remember who now) was injured. Instead of giving Dahoud the chance he started Jantschke(!) in midfield. I really don't understand why he didn't get a chance, especially since Dahoud was used by Schubert from the get go in his first game as manager.
Last season there were a lot of chances to give Dahoud some playing time as well... but he wasn't even used as a late sub when the games were all decided by then.
It's especially weird because Favre is a manager who is usally good at dealing with the younger players.

Well, it's difficult to argue against his choices last season and maybe with the injuries in defense, he didn't trust him and prefered someone experienced? I don't think he was treated that badly, he's still incredibly young and in my opinion would have found his way into the first team this season if Favre stayed.

Yeah, Werder equalize Gladbach. I'd fancy both matches to go into a pen shoot out. That's part of the DFB Cup fun.

C'mmon Haching, you can still do it!

Oh, c'mon... Is Gladbach really bottling this now.

Gladbach equalize, Werder take the lead again!

My goodness Sommer really doesn't look too good today... On the other hand Vestergaard is looking good today I hate to admit. @bucky

Edit: My word, that defending :wenger: Hamburgesque

WTF! Gladbach 2 - 4 Werder!

It looks as if Werder have saved all their energy and goal scoring potential for the Cup!

So since Gladbach beat us last 10 days ago, they've conceded 13 goals in 3 games? Ffs. Their great run is definitely over now.

What a pity that there'll be no Hummels brother clash in the QF. :(
