Champions League Semi Finals (30th April - 8th May)

There heart and desire they’ve shown all season puts our players to shame. They run themselves into the ground, unfortunately our players are more concerned with instagram. It’s so depressing.

It's all down to the manager. Liverpool are fully in the mould of theirs. 100% effort and commitment at all times. It isn't like Liverpool don't have a bunch of posers in their team either. Half of them have had their teeth done.

I watched the HBO Chernobyl series premiere instead of this. I picked right.

All I hope is any potential sponsors of ours opt for Liverpool or City. That will hurt Ed.
As for our team if we manage to win a league or CL before I am 50 I will be very surprised.

Just pray City beat BHA and Ajax masterclass although the second highly doubtful for me.

One of the great performances in the CL, fair play to Liverpool. A lesson to United about what can be achieved by eleven working hard and playing for each other.

Typical Messi performance when it matters though. Still he'll score a couple against some nothing team this weekend and he'll be the bestest ever again.

My commiserations to most of the staff on the forum that their first team went out tonight too.

Barca two years in a row giving away a very positive lead in the return game? Their golden days have long been over. This result was coming.

But then again Liverpool did well to come back from that 3-0 defeat. I hate it, but nothing to do about it. Congrats to them.

Pains me, but fair play to Liverpool. As a team, they have been epic tonight. Are we more bothered because it’s liverpool or because it just highlights even further the sorry state of affairs we’re in at the minute?

Side note but we need to stop focusing on paying top dollar to rebuild this team. Liverpool play for each other and their team/squad is comprised of

TAA | youth
Matip | free transfer
Robertson | 8M
Henderson | 16M
Milner | free transfer
Shaqiri | 13M
Mane | 37M
Salah | 37M
Firmino | 36M
Origi | 11M
Wijnaldum | 24M
Joe Gomez | 4M

Barcelona were crap but sometimes you just have to congratulate the Scousers. They have history of doing this sort of stuff. The atmosphere at Anfield makes big players, managers, teams bottle it.

No Salah , Firmino , Robertson goes off injured and they still smashed Barcelona. That is a real team. Sickening to think what they have put together there and the shambles we have at our place.

Barca don't run enough. Which makes them very vurnerable away from hom. Lost 4:0 from PSG, 3:0 from Juventus, 4:1 from Roma, 4:0 from Liverpool (without some of their best players at that). Absolutely pathetic. And Messi is also part of the problem because he's absolutely useless in the defensive phase of the game.

Credit to Liverpool. It wasn't a great game of football but it was heroic.

We are SO SO far off a performance like that it’s frightening!!!

On the weekend, as Man City struggle to come back from 2 goals down at 88 minutes, Liverpool are 4 goals up and win the league. They will be talked of as the greatest team mankind has ever seen. The the champions final. 2 quick goals in the first half against Ajax, 2 again in the second half and there you have. Liverpool not only winning the league after 30 years in the wilderness, but the greatest European competition as cherry on the top with pundits, analysts creaming over themselves. I am not even in England, but i feel physical pains already.

One of the most amazing ties in the history of CL football, surely

Up there with the 4-0 Deportivo comeback against Milan.

It’s not exactly rocket science though is it? Who’d have thought that pressing and getting into the face of a team with 5’1 front players would be a good idea? Press them, make it horrible for them and they have no plan B because they’ve not got anyone to play long to.

Barca were disgusting though. Just stood off and watched them.

Absolutely pains me to say Pool deserved the win. Barca we’re atrocious got bullied & simply outplayed & not only missing some glorious chances to put the tie to bed.
The level of commitment by this group of Pool players makes our players look shameful.
Hopefully they get beat in the Final but at this rate i cannot see this happening.

But "that night" might just be that hopefully and nothing more.
Don’t you know scousers? Look at racist lover Kenny on screen locking hands and singing? They’ll do that forever. Never hear the end off it. And feckin Klopp must have ran out of dentine by now

I know it's Liverpool, but that was great to see.

feck Barca - bunch of twats.

As long as Liverpool don't win the league, I'm happy.

And they'll certainly lose the final again.

It's all down to the manager. Liverpool are fully in the mould of theirs. 100% effort and commitment at all times. It isn't like Liverpool don't have a bunch of posers in their team either. Half of them have had their teeth done.

They also have the right characters who play in their first eleven. Say what you want about VVD, Milner, Henderson but they have the right mentality that goes through the team. United don't have those leaders. City have those leaders on the pitch as well from Kompany, Silva, Aguero. They just keep going.

United don't have those players. If they're down 3 goals, you'll well know it.

Their squad is very good yes, but Klopp is overacheiving with this team. Hate to say it but he is a extremely talented coach.
That sounds so bitter. Let's face it, they are a fecking good team. What they just did is fecking amazing really. Regardless of how Barca played the second half, Liverpool wiped the floor with them.

Hope this game was an eye-opener for many on here that the PL is easily the best right now. Barca would finsih a distant 3rd in England.

Get the early goal and you’ll beat them I reckon.

I really hope so!

Main straw I'm clutching is that this Ajax haven't been in this position all CL so we'll see how they cope with with being ahead and being favourites....

Can't say Liverpool didn't deserve it over the course of the tie. Feel like they'll be winning it this season

Absolutely fair fecks to Liverpool. Incredible performance with a couple of key men missing, seriously heroic and absolutely deserved.

They were the better side at the Nou Camp as well but simply didn't get the luck, well it balanced out tonight.

Hate 'em but you have to give credit where it's due and that's a magnificent achievement. They'd do Ajax 8/10 times I think and if somehow we snuck through they'd be big favourites for that.

Horrible thought.

Did Alisson have a save to make? Very disappointed in Barca but fair play to Liverpool, well deserved.
