What is it with Belgian strikers and possession of all good traits except brain cells? Benteke, Lukaku, Origi and now Batshuayi?
Why would you say Batshuayi lacks brain cells?

This.He inherited a team that NO-ONE had as their favourites for the title. They were 10th, mentality rock bottom, lacking belief. They didn't win many games under Hiddink neither which suggests they had deeper problems. They started this season in a similar vain and looked hopeless, until he switched the system which is now getting the best out of what they have.

Comparing Batshuayi to Traore is a new low on here. The former is miles better & it's not even close.
We started the season with 9 points from 9, so far from hopeless. Rest of your post is right. He inherited a team that NO-ONE had as their favourites for the title. 9 out of a possible 27 isn't hopeless for a title contender? We started the season with 9 points from 9, so far from hopeless. Rest of your post is right.
Huh? This season I'm saying. We won our opening 3 matches.9 out of a possible 27 isn't hopeless for a title contender?

Flabergasted by the comments on Batshuayi (the positive ones), he's an okay striker but really nothing special. He'll spend a couple of seasons benchwarming at Chelsea and will go to a second rate PL club like West Ham or something after that, and have an okay career. Nothing about him is 'top class'.
I'm personally not basing it on his time at Chelsea. It's easy for you guys to criticize Batshuayi. The poor guy has barely played for us. How can you just say he is shit or great?
I'm personally not basing it on his time at Chelsea.
Ok he's great. He scored 17 with 6 assists for Marseille last year.

Either you are massively over-rating Batshuayi or under-rating Traore.Comparing Batshuayi to Traore is a new low on here. The former is miles better & it's not even close.
Or to put it another way, there's this from the summer..

Ehh, not sure about that. Zlatan made it look effortless. Like he was playing against pub teams every week.If you succeed in Ligue 1 you're more likely to succeed in any top League. It's one of the toughest Leagues to score in. They consistently produce more top of the line talent than any League that isn't La Liga yet people still group them with Eredivisie & Premiera Liga.
I'd rather buy talent from France than Germany.
Isn't he doing the same thing in England at an older age though? He's on 11 goals, just 2 behind Costa & has scored 46% of United's goals.Ehh, not sure about that. Zlatan made it look effortless. Like he was playing against pub teams every week.
Kind of post you'd expect from .What is it with Belgian strikers and possession of all good traits except brain cells? Benteke, Lukaku, Origi and now Batshuayi?
Total nonsense. French league has not produced a top striker in more than 10 years since Benzema. If you succeed in Ligue 1 you're more likely to succeed in any top League. It's one of the toughest Leagues to score or perform in. They consistently produce more top of the line talent than any League that isn't La Liga yet people still group them with Eredivisie & Premiera Liga.

This is one of the worst posts I've seen on the CAF. French league is miles below the top 4 leagues. Gomis did well in France... I'm struggling to think of a striker that has actually done well in France recently and looked good when they moved away. Probably struggle to name more than 5 in the last 5 years of genuinely quality.
I can think of one... Big Swedish guy
Assumed obvious, personally think he proves the league is poorer. Best ever seasons in the French league when he is near the end of his career.
Don't think any Chelsea fan is hyping up Batshuayi to be the next Deogba or a 25 goals season striker. Heck, most of us thought for sure we'd be playing with 2 strikers up top and he'd be a compliment to Costa.
I am :P In all honesty though, when comparing say Lukaku to Batshuayi: Lukaku is seen as one of the world's top striker talents and rightly so as he's been prolific at such a young age. But records aside, comparing only their qualities and skills, Batshuayi is superior as far as I'm concerned. Good technique, can finish well with both feet, strength, pace and boundless energy. He has all the ingredients to be a super player. I haven't been this excited about a signing since Hazard. Hopefully he gets some decent minutes soon.
Ibrahimovic, Aubameyang, Martial, Dembele for starters. I could go on and on.This is one of the worst posts I've seen on the CAF. French league is miles below the top 4 leagues. Gomis did well in France... I'm struggling to think of a striker that has actually done well in France recently and looked good when they moved away. And missed chances over and over again ala Cavani if not much worse. He might turn out into a fine player for Chelsea by some miracle but if some people are skeptical about it, it is very justified. I personally thought he was never good enough for Chelsea and was surprised he was signed by them.He scored 17 with 6 assists for Marseille last year.
Whether done subconsciously or not, it disturbs me that you've only listed black players. I'm not calling you racist, not even jokingly, but I think it's an unfortunate stereotype that athletically gifted black players are often deemed as "lacking brains", or skill, without any real evidence for it.
Cultural conditioning.
Frankly that's utter rubbish. Sorry. There was a pre-season poll on one of the big sites (BBC, Sky etc. forget which) with maybe 30 of their journalists, there were more than a few tipping Chelsea, and for good reason (the same one I chose them as pre-season favourites), they clearly underperformed last season, had a very solid squad with 3-4 world class players and had the money to supplement it, were acquiring one of the world's best managers and to top it all off had no Euro distractions. Those are multiple factors very strongly in their favour. They were rightly highly rated pre-season and one of the bookies favourites too.He inherited a team that NO-ONE had as their favourites for the title. They were 10th, mentality rock bottom, lacking belief. They didn't win many games under Hiddink neither which suggests they had deeper problems. Complement even. Sorry, OCD momentDon't think any Chelsea fan is hyping up Batshuayi to be the next Deogba or a 25 goals season striker. Heck, most of us thought for sure we'd be playing with 2 strikers up top and he'd be a compliment to Costa.

still didn't win many games and the 2 top players they had still struggledI'm not disputing Conte's good work with Chelsea.
I was replying to a point made that new managers need x amount of time,Point being that the foundations were already there.
Chelsea were a mess last year as some of their key players downed tools, didnt want to play for JM and the team suffered results wise.It wasnt that they had a team of poor players.
They actually recovered in the league under Hiddink and lost less games than under Mourinho.
They werent great in the cups although league survival was probably the priority.
bich please. revisionism is strong with this one. These were the start of season odds. City 21/10, Utd 7/2, Arsenal 6/1, Chelsea 13/2, Liverpool 15/2, Tottenham 10/1.Frankly that's utter rubbish. Sorry. That would be £50m rated Cavani who is currently on 17 goals in 16 games right? Hey if that's the yardstick we're measuring Batshuayi against, I'll take it.![]()
Either you're truly dumb or you're acting like it. Batshuayi is nowhere near Cavani who is a striker who despite missing a lot of easy chances, still scores a lot. Maybe he will suddenly improve when given the chance but I'm just saying what I've seen from him before.
