This. What people also have to remember is that he is a different player now to the one that played for us. His impact outside of scoring goals isn't half as much. Not even quater IMO.

If the club has the money to spend why should it not spend it? Its not just any 31 year old, its Cristiano Ronaldo. As I said above this season the man has scored 18 goals in 16 games. He's built like a tank and has stated its his intention to go on for another six or seven years. This is a player who guarantees at least 20 goals a season for you as long as he's fit. Nobody at United scored that many last season. I'd happily see United spend £60 million on bringing Ronnie home.

Didn't 8 goals come in like 2 matches or something. I'm sure its been done discussed a million times.
The worst thing with Ronaldo is that his attitude is woeful. We have some good young players and his constant moaning if he isn't passed to or if he doesn't score is the last thing they need for their development. If the Rooney situation is teaching us anything it is that we shouldn't indulge with players who aren't quite at their best anymore.
We are better off focusing on players like Martial and helping them to develop, and bringing in younger players who have their best years ahead rather than behind.

For the first time, I think there is a very good chance of we want him and move for him. I just hope we don't. I know a lot here want him back but I think a lot of people are basing that on what he did here in the past. He's been awful for quite a while and at his age, I can't see how he can improve. Also, he's a totally different player to the one we sold. LVG called him a winger, but he really isn't any more.

No thanks, why do people forget what our team is lacking everytime they hear a superstar's name. We need a top striker (might have found one in Martial) and a winger a la Costa who can open up defences, is threatening, beats opponents and can assists (right winger) and even though we have 4 no 10's on paper (Rooney, Herrera, Mata, Januzaj) none of them is good enough consistently on that position.

Amazing isn't it. To be clear, not a club in the world would say no to Ronaldo just as no club would say no to Messi. People just get into this reality distortion field when it comes to Ronnie.
Romantic idea but £60m is too much given that we'll only get 3, at a push 4, top seasons out of him. If we are lucky.
We can afford to spend 60 million on a player who might only be useful for one season, money isn't an issue. If there is a chance he'd come back, we'd be mad not to do it.
He's not just a player. He's a business model. The likes of him, you make your money back on in 6 months. The most marketable player in the world playing for the most marketable club in the world is a dream partnership before you take about what he does on the pitch.

He's the 2nd best finisher in the world but our main problem is creating chances, how woulf that work out? His field play is non-existent but he gets on the end of attacks and scores, we need players to initiate those attacks, pace, creativity, players who can beat a man, players who can spot out a pass. He's a finisher, he still has pace and can lead the line. Hes a player who doesn't need 10 chances per game and is a player who can be the focal point of any team.

He wouldn't be as good as he was with Madrid or during his first time here, but would still easily be our best player, which is quite remarkable when you think about it. The goals would flow and the likes of Martial, Memphis, Lingard et al would benefit tremendously. Our solid defense, experienced midfield, and Ronaldo in attack to compliment the others would instantly take this side to the top of Europe alongside the Bayern and Barca.
