I think he might stay then sign for Madrid for free next season.
If he stays I think that he will be professional and will do his best.Old Trafford will know to appreciate his four years in the club but I also think that will be substitute in EuroGoing on tour, keeping his mouth shut...he's got to be at least somewhat comfortable with the idea of seeing the contract out. If he stays, you can bet it will be awkward when he gets asked about moving over and over but that shouldn't stop him from remaining professional and trying to get a starting place for the Euros. Of course, it will be interesting to see how he reacts to the OT crowd turning on him when Real announce his pre-contract in January.
Who says we want Lloris? Manchester isn't Lloris' home, either. Madrid and Real Madrid will have a massive drag for someone like De Gea.So does Lloris, but you don't see us whining to the press about us wanting him for a low price either.
What we need now is for Navas to play a blinder next season whilst they win the league and for us to win the league and the CL.

will change nothing mate.
I don't think we'll hear nearly as much David de Gea chants this season, but I could be wrong. He obviously won't get booed or anything like that but I feel there's a change in how many of us feel about him.Its funny that people think the crowd will turn on DDG.
DDG will win games for us - there is no question about this. He has been our best player for the last 2 years and will probably be the same this year. And the crowd will love him for it.
Madrid know what they are getting. They want the best and DDG is the best.
David Moyes got a standing ovation when he was in the process of destroying this club. The same Moyes who broke a host of negative records in his season in charge. The crowd applauded him for this.
This same crowd gave Falcao a standing ovation when he played his last game for us. A player who was so woeful that he could barely stay on his feet. A mercenary who earned big money for scoring 4 goals.
Using logic, the same crowd should line the streets of Manchester, while wearing DDG football shirts, holding 'DDG we love you' banners, for the good work which DDG has done for us.
defo, respectful at best. will be strange running to the stretty before kick off from now onI don't think we'll hear nearly as much David de Gea chants this season, but I could be wrong. He obviously won't get booed or anything like that but I feel there's a change in how many of us feel about him.
If we wants to leave why is he going to sign a new contract? to allow his club to demand a crazy amount that will prevent any transfer? If De Gea stays at United this season but doesn't sign a new contract, this would be very disrespectful to the club who have invested so much into his development towards being the best shot stopper in the world.

That's poor logic. Had Falcao signed for us permanently a year ago and had a terrific season only to express a desire to leave the moment another big club expressed interest, he would have been much more likely to get booed than while trying to perform but failing to do so (like he did). Same goes for Moyes. Or Forlan - he did 1,000 000 times less for us than Rooney did yet I never heard him booed and Rooney has been, even if by a handful of people, after seeking for a way out. De Gea won't be booed by United fans that's very unlikely. Its funny that people think the crowd will turn on DDG.

If he did sign a new contract, which he won't, then it wouldn't be a 'crazy' fee but a fee that represents how much he's actually worth. £35-40m isn't a crazy fee for one of the best keepers on the planet. If we wants to leave why is he going to sign a new contract? to allow his club to demand a crazy amount that will prevent any transfer?

I think that would be ok in case that he wants to leave to any club in la liga,he would have several options and before or after someone would pay, however he only wants to play in Madrid, therefore at least on his part , it makes sense to make things easier. Although his contribution is very positive , in the mind of the clubs is still not understood to pay so much for a GKAs I said, the reason is to repay the club's investment into his development. It seems wrong to me to just walk away as the best goalkeeper in the world, and United get nothing in return.
Look how Real have treated Casillas compared to how we've treated De Gea. He would not be the keeper he is without us, and he should have this in his heart as strongly as his desire to go to Madrid.

I remember years ago, when Madrid signed Pepe, they paid 30m€, during weeks there was a debate about the expensive price for a CB. They(the board) are always greedy with defensive positions. Cristiano was a different situation, everybody was obsessed about him, and after a year waiting nobody was worried about the fee.If you asked me DDG went about this the wrong way. If he really wanted to leave and made his decision last year/season. He could have gone to Ed Woodward, got a contract extension with a clause that said if Madrid and only Madrid came in for him for a world record fee for a keeper, United will listen and accept the offer. Everyone would win in that scenario. We will get a good return on our investment, he would get his move and double the sign on bonus (from the extension and madrid contract), and he would have been sold already long before July came.
Ronaldo pretty much did that. When 2009 came, the transfer went through very quick with no hassle or saga. Off course DDG can still do this now...
Depends on his own feelings about the way he will be looked on by United fans if he walks away for free, if he doesn't care less then he'll do it I suppose, but personally I don't think he'll find it an easy thing to do.
Mendes is an intelligent guy who no doubt wants to please United and Madrid over this, the best thing could be to get him to sign a new 3 year deal on a higher wage now but with a release clause of about £25-£28 million, this though can only be activated from next summer onwards. This gives DDG more money now, gives him a guarantee of the Madrid move if he maintains his form, a reasonable fee for United and Madrid, and maybe importantly I also think it will give him a more dignified exit from the club........Sadly it's not very likely though.
But it would also probably mean he would get £25m less in signing on fee and/or wages from any real madrid contract.
I read that Woodward is flying back to Europe to buy a GK. Which would be your favorite? what do you think about Cillesen? It depends what's important to him, he can have his huge wage bump with us now and earn an extra £8-£10 million this year, and then get his move for a fee that would be acceptable, he would miss on out on some money potentially yes but will earn a shed load anyway, a dignified exit might be more appealing to him, and like I say Mendes will be a pains to make sure things suit us and Madrid.

so De Gea very doubtful for tomorrow game...what did the guy during the holidays?De Gea for another yearbut your welcome to Cillesen.

I dont know if Madrid can risk that. Also, if he is fit for the league matches but doesnt play the champions league games then it will be clear that we are saving him for Madrid. He will leave really late in the window, maybe on the last day.
