Some cracking tweets at the mo
Surely the Spanish FA will allow dispensation to be granted to get the paperwork sorted. We had a 30min extension (I seem to recall) when we signed Berbatov because of paperwork problems. If a broken fax machine can halt football, we're all in trouble.
It's a moral victory in any case. Those £29m is pocket money for us anyway with the Adidas deal.
Meanwhile in the real world....
this deal is happening.
It'll go through, but in the meantime, its very funny
Yeah, these tweets suggesting it may go through. The past hour has still been funny though.
a. If the deal is off because the paperwork was ONE minute late... that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard... you can't get an extension for ONE minute... that's asinine.
b. if the problem was with Navas' contract, why did Real not wait until the next day for that part of the deal? If I'm not mistaken they can still SELL the next day, just not BUY.
I'm fairly sure that'd be the best result to be fair, he'll be in one hell of a sulk if he's "stuck" here for another season when it's clear he wants to leave. I think this'll get pushed through eventually.Bah, getting the impression as well it will go through, oh well.![]()
Dave became irrelevant the moment he wanted to leave. He stopped being our player the second he decided he wanted to lower himself to join what people in Spain call a football club. A football club that booed Ronaldo for not scoring for 3 games. A football club that treats a club legend like Casillas the way you did.
You say that as though Navas and De Gea will be happy with the way Madrid handled this. Both feeling quite unwanted right now.
We'd probably pull the plug if we didn't get Navas. Is it possible the deal goes through minus Navas if his contract was the issue?
Think this will go through. Navas presumably won't...
Why should it? rules are there for a reason. Else where do you draw the line?
I hate these accounts on twitter but this made me laugh:

What is time, really?
We could still sign Navas tomoroiw
