If we're actually after Hazard then I can only fathom that we're aware that Nani wants to leave.
He can play as both. Right now he's probably used more as a winger because he's young, very skilful and very fast. As he matures he'll definitely be an attacking midfielder outright. He has all the creative traits needed. Could probably do with 'bulking up' a bit for playing in the middle.
I think I can 100% call this as 'not going to happen' given everything that has gone on with us and transfers in the last few years
Could be parks replacement, could be berbatov or owens replacement.
Who needs 6 out and out strikers when we are really only using 3 right now?

If we're going for Hazard then it's clearly so that we can start using the 4-3-3 system on a regular basis again, as that's where he thrives. We don't really have the personnel for that system right now.
Can't see fletcher coming back into the team, not for me. Park has had his day for us too, don't think he offers much anymore. I actually want us to keep Owen and get rid of The unused Berbatov. That's three players to make room for some new talent.
We jut won't sign him. Can't play in a midfield 2 and we won't sign another winger given we have probably 3 of the top 5 in the country.
Unless one of those wingers were to leave. Unfortunately that might be the case as we do seem to be scouting a few different wingers at the moment.
Why does a winger have to leave? He is a left winger usually and we could do with another one. Nani doesn't play as good as he does on the right, when playing on the left, and Valencia is exclusively a right winger. Apart from Young and Park, who I reckon will be off, we don't really have somebody that can play on the left. Hazard can also play on the right and behind the striker if needed, which means his versatility can also be very helpful. It may also be the case that SAF thinks he is too good to miss out on.
Sliiiight problem there as at no point in this season have we had all 3 of them available at once to play a full game.
Hazard isn't a winger, and the Nani left/right thing is a myth.
I know he isn't an out and out winger, but he plays on the left. He drifts inside to create. We don't have somebody of that ilk and he would be a great addition. On the Nani thing, some might over exaggerate, but he isn't as good on the left. I think he ends up taking too many shots from distance, whereas on the right he can get down the line and swing in great crosses. He is good on the left, but on the right I think he performs better.
I've said it before we most probably won't sign him. But we have passed opportunities to sign talents like Silva, Sanchez and Mata that i sometimes wish we at least have one of them at the club. And i thought back of the caf those days when United announced we have signed Nani and Ando both on the same day, it was brilliant!
Giggs will retire soon. Hazard can replace him after a year or two. If Berbatov leaves then Rooney will need a backup in the support striker role.
Had a lenghty chat with my colleague who sits next to me in my office who is a Frenchman, a fan of Bourdeux but very knowledgable about French football. He's been tracking Hazard for several years.
Says he could develop into the Zidane/Xaxi/Scholes level of player. Has already achieved wonders, esp by helping Lille win the French league last year. Says he can play in the classic no 10 position, a wide striker like Henry/Ronaldo or as an attacking midfeilder. He has also been tracking Pogba for a long time and thinks long term, a Pogba, Hazard, Cleverly 3some in a 433 would be very difficult to matchg in world football. By then, the current Barcelona midfield will have faded.
Im actually now very excited about the prospect of him joining us .... with Cleverley, Pogba, Anderson and Carrick, we'd have world class qaulity, experinence, depth as well as youth. Would be a perfect set of 5 central midfiielders to last a couple of cycles and be the right age profile to fit our defence, wings and attacking age profile

He got excited over joining Spurs only last month.Not reading to much into this.
He has allegedly been excited by every big club who has shown any interest. The only thing we know for sure is that he becomes extremely excitable whenever the prospect of leaving Lille for a big club is suggested!

If true, the City/Chelsea interest is bad. Lille, if not the player, will want the most money, and that's not likely to be us. Hopefully Hazard will understand that United offer a better career prospect (and that City/Chelsea will both be ousted from the Champions League by the new UEFA regs in 2 years. Even though people don't believe this)
I very much doubt they will ask more than 25M.
That is still huge money for a club of Lilles size, and player power in this instance could prove important.
One thing that can be said about him is that so far he' s made the right choices in his young career.He could have left last season (and even the season before) but he chose to stay and be "patient".In all of his interviews he comes across as someone who has his head firmly screwed on so I hope in a way, he'll be intelligent enough not to join the likes of Man City
In that case, the next question is do we really need him? We already have enough wide players, who are able to come infield. And we already have Rooney who plays in the middle. Unless he's one of those really special talent that we can't miss out on, we should really be focusing on someone who specialises in central midfield. Having not seen much of him, I'm pretty ignorant on this matter though.
Although you are correct in your assessment, it would be a massive advantage to have the personnel available to change our tactics/formations at times.
Would it save c.10,000 posts and 200 odd pages if I tell you now: 'there is no way we will sign him'?
I just can't see us going out and signing a player of his calibre and price to fill such a role in the squad. Not without one of our top guys leaving. Your thinking is right and we should be adding to the squad instead of replacing our best players, but I just have a feeling that won't be the case.
I said the same at the start of the Ozil and Sneijder sagas.

This is how I saw it with a midfield of Cleverley Pogba Morrison. Unfortunately that is unlikely to happen now. I don't think any of these players that we are scouting will be brought in as central midfielders though. We've been looking at Gaitan and James Rodriguez too, and I know for sure that Gaitan plays out wide.
He and gaitan are very similar players, but hazard is better IMO.

Never going to happen. Far too many clubs interested for us to have a chance of signing him imo.
Who are the current PL leaders? Who won the PL 4 out of the last 5 years? Who made the CL final 3 years out the last 4.
It's ridiculously pessimistic to say that we have no chance of signing him.
