That's why i would be happy if we did a Newcastle , and bought players under the radar , Pardew as proven there are good players out there that will compliment the team.

The more I think of it, the more I think that our interest was more "official" than anything else. We know we have no chance but at least, being interested is better than not trying at all....at least from a muppet point of view

Yeah .The same could be said about our interest in Nasri.

Devilish acting like an uber retard again, somethings never change.

That's a relief when everything we have known about the game we love seem to change at an alarming rate. Imagine what it would be like if some Sheik bought Dev and spent a fortune on his brain transplant.

How much is Danny Welbeck on? What is he going to feel if this Belgian bloke gets 200k a week at OT? Are we then going to promote other players to this wage bracket? How about DDG next contract? Smalling, Evans and Jones?

If the £200k wages are accurate - of course we can't afford a player like Hazard. If the FFP are put into action as hard as Platini has said - in reality, few teams can (including Chelsea and City)

£200k a week ends up at £10 mil a year - and I can at least think of 5-6 players who will insist on getting the same if a 21 year old player like Hazard is getting that - in addition we will probably have 7-8 more who will want around £100k a week. And on those 15 players our wagebill will be £150 mil. Then we have maybe 40 more professional players...and our wagebill will fly well past the 50% of our income

Nah - £100k we can afford - but not much more than that for a player like Hazard

Looking more likely he will join Chelsea, especially if they are now in the CL next season. He will take Sturridge's place and Ramires will go back to midfield

I bet he won't say where he's going tonight. Why end it so soon when he can continue to delay this longer. Ronaldo mk II

He will probably make his own TV programme like Lebron James and dedicate 30 mins to it in a primetime slot to announce which team he's signing for

He is the whore of european football

feck it if he wants to have clubs begging him to join for extortionate wages I will gladly see him feck off to a different club, would love to see him sign for us but at the same time its not worth the hassle of having to put up with him prick teasing everyone, he wont announce where he is going tonight this will drag on into next week, possibly longer.

This/\

Hmmmm

If City miss out on their main target, does this mean that they will be in for Kagawa?

I have the feeling that their real target is Bale

Aye Bale would fit for sure. They were mentioning another French winger in the press but I think that was a smoke screen to put pressure on Hazard. There is also Rodriguez over at Porto, if RR is to be believed then United and City were both talking to Mendes about two of his players, of which Rodriguez is one.

I guess that Silva, Aguero, Nasri and Tevez are all a little to similar to Kagawa in style and position.

I know very little about Hazard but this is the one thing that sticks out about him the most from what I've read/heard.

We can afford to pay £200k a week but not to a player who just signs for us. It's asking for trouble to start someone on that wage when they have done nothing for the club. In the top bracket of earners, sure, instantly up there with our top earner. No way. There's no room for growth and it'll instantly piss off players like Nani who has worked hard to be one of our stars.

Quite looking forward to see what happens after Lille's match tonight. I am sure we'll get some comment from Hazard, he's not exactly shy when it comes to interviews, but it'll probably be another cockteasing hidden message which we can turn and twist for another week.

His new club would surely be teed off if he announced he was signing for them - they'd much rather announce it themselves. I'd be amazed if we learn anything definite tonight (unless the new club announce it first).

Of course it would be silly to get to a bidding war at the quoted figures, but on the other hand I haven't heard him say a thing so far so I don't understand why people here are wound up already, calling him all sorts of names. Though we all would like a couple of signings I guess caftards' mental stability is pretty much down the list of priorities among most potential transfer targets.

Chill the feck out gentlemen.

The thing is, the wages that are being quoted by the media, if they are true is insane. This is a player with bags of potential and possibly a wonderful future ahead but he is unproven outside of the french league and lets face it we all know that the standard of the french league in comparison to other leagues in europe is by no means outstanding. Not to belittle the french league, I dont follow it closely but the achievements, or lack of achievements in Europe speaks for itself in comparison to other leagues. If that wage is indeed true (and it may well be falsified crap from the media) then he needs to have a good swift dose of reality if he still wants to play in Manchester, I get the feeling that City will start trying to curb the salary at the club, they cant afford to keep offering ludicrous contracts to players, its not a financially sound system to have in place at a club. Otherwise Chelsea can have him if he still wants that salary.

I dont think anyone is wound up at all to be honest, just the cryptic messages like, "I will play in Manchester next season" and comments like that is pretty much whoring yourself out to clubs, its like saying "oh I will play here this season, if you want to change my mind come make me a bigger better offer and quick." Or this whole stance of announcing his next move after the game tonight, thats a joke. Whatever club he signs with will announce what his next move is, not him. Its always that way, the club unveils the player not the player unveils the club and him giving the impression he will announce it after the game is down right egotistical.

That is the impression he is giving to people, whether he intends to or not. Like I said before, I dont think anyone in here is wound up or upset, its silly season on the caf, being rational goes out the window, I imagine most of us here are quite chill tbh.

Not sure why Chelsea are linked with him when he said he is going to play for a Manchester club. Think Chelsea will get Modric and they have already signed Marin.

This is Sneijder all over again. Maybe we had initial talks to see if he was available, but I reckon we've not been in the running for a long time. People should know better. Would we really get involved in a situation like this? I reckon he's agreed to sign for City at the end of the season but they're keeping our name in the hat to play our supporters and set us up for a big fall.

I always thought surely Chelski would be in for him. They have a lot to offer tbf, especially if they can demonstrate that they will be rebuilding a new quality squad...

So, the whole "I'll wait and see" might well have been to see the trophies his respective potential clubs - City and Chelsea - would win? To aid in his decision.

Sounds about right.

Though I do remember a Chelsea fan in the newbies regularly updating the Hazard thread there with information that Chelsea were in for him (possibly starting around the January window - I didn't pay all that much attention tbh). He seemed to be positioning himself as something of a ITK with Chelsea and was pretty consistent with updates on Chelsea's interest. I'd love to know what he's telling the newbies now with all this going on

There not going to give him £200k a week. Don't know why people think Ambrovich is still spending crazy money when that clearly stopped 2-3 years ago.

Hmmmmm

75m on Luiz and Torres in a January window disagrees with you. It would be a classic Chelsea move, pay this young player insane money and worry about the implications later.

That said, we slate the way in which Chelsea operate but they have had a lot of success in the past five years.
