Europa League 2015/2016

The majestic time wasting in minute 32 by Mignolet

This is the kind of goal only Liverpool could conceede, you cannot make this up.

Did Klopp spend as much time talking to the 4th officials at Dortmund as he seems to at Liverpool?

Penalty dippers.

Milner 1-1

Compensation for the penalty. Very, very soft

Belter from Benteke you have to say, despite the piss-poor defending.

I thought the keeper could've done a little bit more with that but a good strike by Benteke nonetheless. Poor game though, only livened up by 2 braindead moves before Benteke's goal.

Drogba-esque from Benteke.

What are the rules for teams from the same country in the EL knockouts? If we go down then at what stage can we get Liverpool or Spurs?

Last 16, teams from the same country are only kept apart for the first knockout round.

Looking at this Ajax team, is this their first team?

I do not want to be a part of this garbage competition.

The issue is our coefficient is in danger given our largely poor Champions League performances in recent years. That's the only issue against my preferred approach of playing the kids and fringe players, with the only first choice players being those needing games after injury.

Griffiths is probably Celtic's best player but his greed, amonst other things, has cost them tonight.

Celtic really are shite. They deserve to finish bottom of the group with defending like that and I'll be shocked if they even get a point in Turkey.

Can Celtic afford him? He was demanding very high wages as I remember.
I have no idea. I think they'll pay him what he wants if they can, though. He gets to pick up some token trophies to get his career back on track and they get a manager with Champions League experience (yeah I know) who can maybe help them push on in Europe. I can't see it going wrong.

Top of the group with just a draw needed to finish there. Chuffed with that :)

I wonder if Moyes would take the job. Can he be that picky now though?

Picky? Bar United we'd be the biggest club he's ever managed. I'd imagine he'd jump at the chance.

Then again, our board are vermin who'd offer him 50p and a packet of monster munch to go and attract players with. So maybe he wouldn't. If he had a brain he wouldn't.

I'd hope we look elsewhere though. His football is crap and when you're going to win pretty much every domestic game you play you at least want to be entertained otherwise what's the point in even watching.
