Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

I know a Liverpool fan who is still saying that Suarez is completely innocent. Common sense won't work with this guy. So just need a quick rundown of arguments to use now, links to what the FA said etc to comprehensively crush this idiot.

Thanks.

It's my blog and I wrote it, maybe it will help you coz I've put together all things in one place including press releases.

No Charge for Awesomeblog .....

I don't think Fergie will allow Evra to be subjected to the abuse he would get at Anfield IMO.

If they react like they did to a black player who didn't have anything to do with their darling Suarez being banned, imagine what they are going to do next time Evra plays at Anfield

Give him a couple of reading glasses (not the official Liverpool version), print out the verdict from the independent panel (which both Liverpool and United approved) and make him read it until he realises what a fecking moron he is.

Also make sure to delete his user on RAWK.

Cheers fishfingers.

Wowi, love the idea mate  but need something a bit more concise than the official report. Something akin to the 'fachts' press conference, where I can recite the incriminating facts to him and crush any of the stupid arguments he sends in reply my way (ie Evra has history in this, the panel wasn't fair, he didn't understand the conotation of the word etc).

A lot of it I already know but I like to go into discussions like this armed with every single fact, ready for any reply.

Unfortunately, he doesn't actually go on RAWK, which makes his delusion even more exceptional.

The thing is, RAWK make some valid points occasionally. I can see why they're mad. This situation I think they're going over the top, and I couldn't justify agreeing with it (hence why I got banned from there), but I do think there is a case they can make where they can support Suarez and still be against racism. I am 100% behind the ban, and I am 100% sure that Liverpool as a club in general hate racism.

But this abuse of Collymore and the Oldham lad has happened now for a reason. Not because Liverpool condone racism, but because they've made the whole thing so tribal that it was bound to happen. There have been the racism at Anfield, the reports of Liverpool clubs singing racist chants and the tweets to famous celebrities which are horrendous.

The thing is even if Liverpool have a point in their own eyes for Suarez being innocent, they simply

a) Shoudn't have wore the shirts. This to me was the worst thing they could done. It was ALWAYS going to inflame the situation/

b) Shouldn't have agressively persued Evra. He hasn't done anything wrong! Even if you support Liverpools rational(ish) point of view, he has misheard a word and has got offended. It's not HIS fault! He has behaved admirably through the whole situation.

c) Not stressed the importance of the anti-racist message. They have not been racist themselves, but they have allowed their stupid idiotic fans to become legitmatized. Idiots won't be eradicated overnight, but they could certainly validate themselves if they warped Liverpool's view.

I hope this thing blows over. Black players crying at racist abuse and Collymoor's tweets are horrible.

You got banned from that webshite. What the feck

I think Liverpool fans have a point when they argue that Evra's testimony had inconsistencies and that it is pretty inconceivable that someone who speaks such good spanish doesnt know that negro means black. However, I disagree with every other argument they have put forward.

Evra: he said "Because you are black:

Kuyt: Because you are black

Comolli: Because you are black

Dowd: Because you are black

4 people said the same thing, and in different languages! You can't get past this!

Liverpool fans claim they want the truth. They don't. They want Suarez's name cleared, but many of them know full well that Suarez will only end up looking worse if the whole truth comes out as fact. They should have taken the generous 'not a racist' line from the FA and breathed a sigh of relief.

As things stand it was a verbal assault in which he brought skin colour into it. Suarez's excuses can sugarcoat it all kinds of ways but that's the best it gets for him and that's the reputation he deserves: a wind up merchant who'll go as low as he can to get another player sent off. How despicable is that even without the racism angle? What he attempted to do is more or less what they're now accusing Evra of. A cheat got played at him own game, if that's how they want to view it.

Anyway, if Fergie plays Evra in the next match at Anfield, I suspect the ones following that will be played behind closed doors...

Manchester United’s Patrice Evra faces international backlash

Luis Suaraz's black international pal Alvaro Pereira has warned Patrice Evra he will have to wear body armour when France meet Uruguay in a friendly later this year.

There is uproar in South America over the Liverpool man’s eight-match ban, and the clash between Evra’s country and Uruguay in August threatens to become an all-out war.

FC Porto’s Pereira said: “Evra is going to have to wear body armour. If I ’m called negro, I laugh. But now it’s a crime to say something on the pitch.

“If this happened in South America, they’d have to suspend everyone. I think Man United tried to take advantage of this situation and prevent one of Liverpool’s best players from playing. That’s sad.”

So Suarez does have black friends? Then frankly this whole thread is an embarrassment to the caf...

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was banned by the FA for eight matches for events centred around an incident involving the Frenchman during a Premier League match against Manchester United in October.

Evra complained to the referee that the striker had racially abused him and the governing body said that the Uruguayan had used words which "included a reference to Mr Evra's colour", judged to be a serious breach of the organisation's rules.

Pereira has given his backing to his Uruguay team-mate and stated that United's position on this matter is driven by sporting affairs.

"Evra had no code: what happens on the pitch, stays on the pitch," he told Radio Sport 890.

"Tomorrow, something like this can happen to a team-mate of his.

"United tried to take advantage of this situation and prevent one of Liverpool's best players from playing. That is sad.

"It seems like it is a sin to say something on the pitch. If this happened in South America, they would have to suspend all players.

"Evra has a complex. He is not proud to be black. If I am called 'negro', I start laughing. My team-mates call me 'negro' and in South America it can also be used in an affectionate way.

"It is obvious that you can use this word with good or bad intentions, but I always laugh. Evra must have some kind of problem about being black, or some inferiority complex. I do not."

The 26-year-old added that if the international friendly between France and Uruguay, which is scheduled for the end of 2012, were to take place now, Evra "would have to wear armour".

There's the full piece.

Would this be a good time to add [sarcasm] tags before I get in a huge row?

I detected sarcasm in your first post. I just felt I might need to draw attention to it for the reason you state above.

It just comes across as another attack on Evra to me by apologising for this incident in a statement that doesn't read like it was written by a racist.

And look at the timing. Like feck they want peace talks with us.

@jonathanliew
Love how Liverpool are prepared to hang that one fan out to dry. Clearly if you don't have a €23 million contract, you will walk alone.

- yup

I've yet to hear any neutrals come out in support of Liverpool in the aftermath of the FA's findings.

As I've said earlier in the thread, I can't imagine the American owners having had much say when the statements were issued. They seem intelligent enough, and I think would've nipped this whole thing in the bud before it got out of hand if they'd been more involved. I'd say Kenny has the run of the place and can pretty much do and say as he pleases- something the Americans would do well to get under control as he's turned a club which were fairly well respected into an absolute laughing stock within the space of two weeks.

our players and our Club pass on our sincere regrets to Tom Adeyemi for the upset and distress he suffered as a result of the matter at hand.

If they'd said the same to Evra, this might not have escalated to the point it's at, ffs.

I guess we should keep all racism stuff on Liverpool in here.

A statement from the club read: "Whatever the outcome of what is now a police investigation, all of us are deeply sorry for what happened on Friday night and our players and our club pass on our sincere regrets to Tom Adeyemi for the upset and distress he suffered as a result of the matter at hand."

Only right but it seems pretty hypocritical to apologise regardless of the outcome when they had to be forced to apologise over Suarez and then even made it conditional.

I hope they remain as accepting should the club get punished.

Cheers fishfingers.

...

The real gripe LFC fans have with the FA’s process is:

1. The FA are the prosecutors
2. The FA are the judges (“independent” panel meaningless as it is only selected and re-selected by the FA)
3. Evra was allowed x attempts at viewing the video to ‘get his story straight’. Suarez, none until the day.
4. FA were the executioners

This kind of justice is frowned upon when discussing Saudi or Iranian courts. Yet we have it present in the English FA. Simply saying it’s the “same for everybody” doesn’t make it right either here or Saudi/Iran.

The FA produced no killer evidence (videos, referees, man utd players)

It ended up being Evra’s word against Suarez’s. The prosecution, judges and executioners decided its own plaintiff (Evra) was reliable and the ‘other team’ was wrong.

As an independent fan you must see some room for questions there Africanspur? And some answers would be nice too.
