Fantasy Tournament: World Cup All-Time All-Stars

Probably fair to say he was the main reason i lost the All time final. I was scrapin the barrel at the end looking for a right back and he seemed the best i had available.

Anto did a bit of research on him, and dug up a few videos of him defending which was absolutely brutal. His name will probably go down with Gary Kelly in Caf draft folklore.

Well depends how you used him. He was considered one of the best RBs of his time with Santos. Anto was probably looking for the videos which showcased his poor defending, he wouldn't have posted the bad ones. Also, there are many many right backs and left backs with defensive frailties in football. Most make up for it going forward and that's exactly what this guy does.
 
Antohan will latch on to any weakness in the oppositions team rpitroda, the arguing is part of the drafting process and antohan is IMO the best of the Caf when it comes to that.

Basically I wouldn't worry about the Eyzaguirre pick and don't read too much into the criticisms anto gave him in that game as he was playing against Cutch and bound to criticise. No doubt there is some truth to them, but any player will have bad games and he was still known as an excellent player so its a good pick IMO

This isn't a criticism of anto by the way, he's just ruthless when he comes to the matches which is part of the game.

Honestly though that's one game. In 70 years time and today's videos are hard to find I could post a video of Zidanes headbutt and say he was a thug. Obviously isn't true and same applies for Eyzguirre. By no means is he a defensive machine; didn't pick him because he was. But he's bloody good going forward.
 
It took me some time to get Antohan too but I think the key is that he can present his opinion on a player as a fact - without really wanting to present it as a fact but rather as his opinion.

So don't be too deterred of what he said about the player, in the end if there is someone who will put effort in to reading how/why you will use this player to win it will be him.

LOL what's funny is EDIT was another option and I probably would have got him had I not been struggling with the European cap =P.
 
Very odd draft this one. If there is any draft where the amazing offensive wing-back will shine it is this one. There are 1-3 teams at max that can hurt you for having a wing-back bombing forward so I wouldn't be overly worried about how they have been received before.

Had no clue before this draft how common it is for the best wingers to fail to perform at their highest level in the world-cup. Usually the defensive wing-back is preferred as he is up against Cristiano Ronaldo - but this time it will be Roberto Carlos being up against Cafu. It becomes a 1 vs 1 between two wing-backs instead.

That's why I was happy to go with Garrincha early on as there was a seemingly good chance of facing a not so defensively sound fullback.

Or even better, not facing them at all because they had to provide width down to the corner flag.:D I can certainly see the logic in picking Garrincha a lot earlier in this draft considering that.
