Gareth Bale is...The most expensive player ever?!

we definitely can't afford him right?

Of course we can. If we wanted him, I truly believe we could get him (And I'm choosing to ignore some of the silly rumors of Bale not liking us or SAF).

He's one of the few players I'd happily have us go out and bid big money for. 40 million is perfectly reasonable for a player of this quality. An addition like that to a side like ours would be pretty incredible. We've been terrorising teams at times with our amount of goals so far this season, can you seriously imagine how crazy it would be with Bale in our side too? (And that's a season where our wingers have all been average for most of it).

This summer will be the decider IMO. If we don't go in for him then, then I don't think we ever will. I still expect Spurs to get CL football and he'll stay there.

Lovely touch by Bale there but Ofcourse he's all pace etc..

It won't be about whether or not we can afford him; there's just not a chance Levy will sell to us.

The chance to replace Giggsy at OT maybe too tempting for Bale. He has said that in the past that Giggsy is his idol.

At Levy prices? No.

As I posted some pages back, IF we want him but one of the Spanish teams go for him in the summer then I think we should leave it alone - let them deal with Spurs and we can look at him again the following season (particularly if he struggles over there).

But if an English side go for him, then maybe we'd have to get involved - which would be costly up against City and Chelsea :nono:

That's IF we want him.

If we wanted him, we bid big for him and he also wanted the move, then there would be very little Levy could eventually do if both the player and us really made the effort to make it happen.

I'm not confident of any of that ever happening though.

When he's in this sort of form you can see where the hype comes from he was great today.

The stats say so- Walcott is better.

Bit like comparing Wilshere and Cleverley, while one is a good player, the other have the potential truly frightening.

Levy will laugh at a £40m bid, he's going to milk every penny out of the club who goes after Bale.

i don't think bale improves our chances head and shoulders above what it is already in europe. wilshere on the other hand.....

That's it with Bale as with Berbatov, people get carried way by their 'elegance' and forget about effectiveness.

Elegant in the sense that he always looks in control of what he's doing - in sharp contrast to Walcott. He still makes some poor/selfish decisions but he's completely comfortable in the build-up and can score from all angles 20 yards out. Walcott still struggles with the former and rarely scores out of nothing. Walcott's just finishing off some nice work from Cazorla while Bale's stuck with Dempsey.

8 in his last 9 for us now

and 7 in 9 for wales

That's 15 goals in his last 18 games for club and country. That'd be phenomenal even for a striker.

The presenter. Can't think of his name.

Jeff Stelling was saying Bale is better than Ronaldo. And whilst the rest of them didn't quite agree with that they unanimously said he was the hottest property in world football right now or something like that. But then they really don't know anything outside of the pl, we all know that.

We're him and Wilshire short of being an amazing team.

One can but dream...

Unless he does an RVP ("I will sign only for United"), there is no chance we'll go for him. Not about the money either...just that I seriously doubt we'd do business with spurs/Levy

Dave Jones, Sky presenter doing this match.

What a joke. He's not even in the top 5 attacking players in the premier league maybe not top 10, let alone the rest of the world
He's a great player in fantastic form but my god how people like to overhype him.

He's comfortably in the top 10 attackers in the league, no question about that right now. Maybe top 5 at a push.

All of this hype is just insane though. I feel sorry for Bale. Even if he's a bit arrogant he's just trying to play the best he can but he receives all of this ridiculous hype.

You never know, he might just pull the same trick. I don't see why he'd want to leave the PL though, as if he went to another league he'd have to establish himself all over again. I'm expecting Real Madrid to come in for him sooner rater than later though.

He's clearly in the top5 attacking players in the Premiership. To state otherwise is deluded. He's been carrying Spurs this season.

It's bizarre that people still say someone like Silva is better than him despite Bale outperforming Silva ever since Silva has been in the PL bar the 6 month period where he was pretty good.

Next week Redknapp will say Suarez is up there with Messi. Don't take anything he says seriously.

Without of doubt he's one of the best players in league at moment arguably the most wanted as well.

Bale -------- Rooney

Wilshire ------ Cleverley

Perfect galactico for Perez to appease the fans with in the summer after the failure of winning feck all this season.

Yup with Di Maria coming here. I can honestly see this happening.
