Incident on London Bridge

I literally live next to Borough market. Loads of chopper seen from the balcony.

Didn't the ones in Paris take drugs beforehand to make it easier? Might be similar.

There's no proof that this video is even from tonight. Reddit, which takes multiple sources, and also independent sources, took that video out of their live thread half a minute after posting it.

What's worrying is that there seems to be less Intelligence recently to even prevent these things from happening. It makes me sick.

One of the main issues with martyrs is that obviously death isn't much of a deterrent. So even armed police aren't likely to put them off.

They will have intelligence officers watching for known suspects and police sharp shooters ready to neutralise any that become active.

He's probably got absolutely nothing to do with anything.
Probably had been going to/coming back from some sort of prayer. It is Ramadan isn't it?

You're never going to be able to stop someone from getting in a car and mowing people down

why the hell are they walking with hands on heads
Because then the police know they aren't about to draw a weapon

I imagine police tell them to do it as they leave an area, and they don't stop for a while

This isn't really true. The reason random pedestrians and tweens at a pop concert were targeted as opposed to, say, the Europa or Champions League finals, was their greater likelihood of surprise and success. Big events seem almost strategically avoided due the amount of security and expectation. These are dumb desperate people planning shit on the fly, not evil geniuses with the wherewithal to plan around large security operations.

I'm not the biggest fan of BBC but fair play to them pulling up the people on social media speculating without having any proper information, this doesn't help anyone.

Yep, and thats definitely one of the reasons there have been more attacks recently, like last year.

If that's not an argument that these people aren't proper muslims, I don't know what is.

I can say the generic dont let them win turn up. but i am scared

At times like this all you can do is rely on facts and being rational. You're still probably more likely to get killed in a car crash on your way there.

A big part of terrorism is spreading fear but if we focus on the reality of how limited these pricks actually are then we can carry on with our lives.

BBC have been excellent tonight. Best I've ever seen them handle a live event

My office is opposite Borough tube station. Scary stuff.
Mine is on Newington Causeway. Scary indeed. I was supposed to meet a mate in Borough Market this evening. I am now glad I stayed at home.

All the assholes on Twitter banging on about "part and parcel" need to have a fecking word with themselves.

Although could it not be argued that this is a relatively new trend?

Both the targeting of low-risk areas and the DIY terrorist

This is the sheaf near borough market. Ffs, had to meet a friend there today :nervous:
I think it's Katzenjammer the German beer Hall. Been there a few times, it's all way too real wherever it is.
