At half-time, I don't think anyone would have predicted such an emphatic win for Real, but overall it was a very entertaining game, open and attacking football from both sides. Scant consolation, but Mandzukic scored the goal of the night.
This might be controversial but I actually prefer Carvajal. Hasn't been performing at a high level for as long but he's what I'd call a perfect fullback. Marcelo makes some odd mistakes at times. I actually thought he was well below his usual standard yesterday although Juve really didn't let him have any space in attack where he usually shines
Your small team analogy is quite correct. Juventus main strategy seemed to be to contain and hope for a goal on the counter. The problem with this is that, once you concede, the team is out of sorts, similar to what happened to us against Arsenal after that Xhaka deflected goal (and we were playing with a weakened team).
Juventus certainly lack depth. The number of players they are reusing is surprising. Khedira, Alves, Mandzukic, Cuadrado, Higuain. Also, this has to be the last match for Buffon. Think he could have done better for the third goal. They also missed Pogba big time.

Let's say both full backs are among the best in the world, but Marcelo is really their 4th striker.

The big difference was in the second half Madrid stopped showing Juve respect on the ball and started not to retreat staying higher up the pitch and winning the ball back early more than in the first half. Juve like all the losing finalists since Bayern showed that in terms of passing the ball out from the back, and playing through the phases, they are nowhere near where they should. It's shocking how midfield light their team is nowadays especially compared to a few years ago.
It could be something like that as Zidane said he told the players at half time to keep playing the same but with much more intensity, to run more and press more. I also think Juventus could be more tired than us at that point.

I had the pleasure of volunteering at the CL finals last week. I am absolutely knackered after it but it was well worth it.
My job was to direct fans (Juve end) in and out of the stadium and help with any other info they needed. The Juve fans were friendly and in great spirits up until the second half, as you could imagine.
I got to watch the second half in the stadium and Juve just didn't seem to have any legs to get up the pitch. They lost the ball far too easily on the rare occasion they did get near Madrid's goal. Madrid was excellent, he is so quick over 5-10 yards, both winning the ball back and getting away from opponents. Mandzukic or Sandro didn't get a sniff.
Seen a lot of famous people from football and other places but the highlight was Marcus Rashford walking passed me into the Juve end with a regular ticket, he and his mate hoods up looking to blend in.

You know, when it mattered most and after a promising first half, Juve collapsed like an F1 car with a broken engine. I am obviously sad but not sure we deserve all the sh*t we are getting from everywhere: Juve were not there thanks to a wild card or some sort of usurped privilege. Six good years domestically are now being put in their perspective, though, and rightly so: overall good and very good but still not good enough to win a CL final, that is the pinnacle of this game. I am pretty sure Agnelli and Marotta will start rebuilding the team for a new run next year, 9 finals since 1973 are not a bad outcome and sooner or later episodes will go our way and we will win one. It was pretty obvious that thats what probably happened. Madrid had a very high fuel position in the second half and cause juve's football continuously fell apart during their build they had no reason to retreat.
