La Liga 2013-2014

Hitting your knee as hard as that hurts like a bastard in itself. When I bang my knee into the leg of a table or whatever at much slower speed I feel like it's about to fall off.

That is true. I once banged my knee on a bed frame so hard I actually screamed and felt nauseous for a while.

Hopefully a few stitches and he'll be fine to get snuggly into Gary Cahills pocket in a few weeks.

They're not a one man team. Yes, losing Costa would be a big blow, but I'd still fancy them to finish the job in Primera and at least reach the Champions League final.

Very tough ask, Costa has just brought so much to their offense. Don't think we'll see many goals in the Chelsea games anyway but without Costa it's even more likely to be the case.

Atlético confirm it's a flesh wound. Going to be presumptuous here and say that's great news for them, right?

Nothing serious for Costa. It'll be a week or two until he's back I bet. Atlético just confirmed it on their Twitter feed

A flesh wound you say?

A Getafe fan puts off Diego Costa when running up for his penalty. Now that's something you don't see often.

Don't know what is more likely to happen, Costa scoring against Brazil or getting himself sent off by doing something stupid!

Half of the caftards are salivating at this... just check how they are talking about Mata or transfer targets they like...

He'll probably do both tbh.
If somebody offered me the league and go out in the semis or lose the league and have a chance in the final I would take the league. I just want Madrid to win a trophy. When la decima happens it happens (if it happens that is, 9 is still a lot and more than anyone else can say so im happy with it and not too greedy). We shouldn't sacrifice consistent trophies for it

I agree with your first sentence but I don't see what it has to do with my post about Costa tbh.

Give me the semis, and I would give up the league 10 times over. I would have said the same even if we had been leading by 15 points. League = VW Golf Champions League = Pagani Zonda

Im sure there is no worse feeling than winning nothing and losing a final. Although I know you have to be in it to win it

Simeone on Diego Costa's injury:
"He's fine. Just one cut more."

And on the season:
"It was game to game. Now it's final to final."

Do you think simeone will be there next season and do you know how atletico are doing financially? Will they have to sell many players do you know? I hope not, the way the league is now is brilliant I feel. Its reminding me of 06/07. Even if we don't win it this time it is something different. Since 08/09 it has been just madrid and barca and for me a great league like la liga deserves more. The league has so much potential.

Doing well in the CL makes people take you seriously. Winning the CL is the greatest achievement in club football. Nothing compares with that. And especially for a team like Real Madrid who have not won it for so long, it should be the absolute priority. Hell, it should be the absolute priority every single season.

I know, but one cl win does not necessarily mean dominance. Look at Milan in 07. They declined since. I would absolutely love to see a period of dominance for Madrid ie to win 3 leagues in a row or something. To win the cl you have to be lucky. The only team that won the cl without luck in recent seasons was Bayern imo.

There's no club that won the CL without being really lucky at one point. We could have had Ribery and Dante sent off in the CL final, for example, that would have sucked .

They'll have to sell - tax and interest charges see to that. The money from CL football will be a huge boost of course but they've still got a lot of debt and some major stadium work to fund.

Who/how many will depend (I think) on the Courtois question, can they continue the loan, will they be able to buy him, will they need to get someone new. That said, Asenjo may be finally starting to live up to his earlier potential on loan at Villareal - so maybe it's their goalkeeping trainer that somebody should be trying to buy. :D

My guess is that Simeone will stay and that he'll sell Diego Costa, rather than break up the team by selling two or three cheaper or homegrown ones.

I agree. It is almost impossible to win the CL without good slices of luck going your way at some stage. Bayern had some rotten luck in the CL in the past, but it clicked for them last season. Barcelona really should have done better in both 2010 and 2012. Pep at fault there imo.

Aww... I despised him when he got Becks sent off, but nowadays I really like him the crazy genius!
