Liverpool vs. Manchester United

Scholes - Giggs - Carrick is a ***worthy midfield

Mainly because Liverpool never tried to pressure us in the mid. Only near their half.

Their plan was to force us off the ball and counter attack. And planting three big players infront of De Gea.

Rafael has been amazing. His tackling and the timing in particular is on another level.

If that's accurate, I'd like to see LFC punished as a club, not just the fan. They helped create the kind of atmosphere where a fan might think such a thing is acceptable through their handling of the Suarez situation.

Agreed.

#lfc 1 #mufc 1. Scholes in charge. Rafael on the charge, superb. Kelly and Agger good. Liverpool too deep. Booing of Evra disgraceful.

Brilliant first half performance. We absolutely dominated them from the word go, and their goal was totally against the run of play and with that useless lump Carroll all over DDG, who aside from that has looked solid.

Rafael and Valencia in particular are fecking sensational. Need to kick on in the 2nd half and turn the screw, we carry on like this wr'll find the net a few more times I reckon.

I think SAF will sort that out in the half time talk.

The gulf in class is astonishing. They really are on par with teams like Stoke, but only just.

We should be battering them.

Because we never lose to a team below 8th? Stoke are a good team.

Aye, and the composure and reaction to going behind was really impressive.

Our back 4 has impressed me most, Smalling and Evans look like Vidic and Rio (at least with the ball at their feet) while Rafael and Evra are coping well with Liverpool when they do get the ball.

Welbeck needs to be brought into the game more, I'd like to see Berba second half if we don't lead by 60/70 mins. We have this though

It seems like this is the perfect game for Berbatov. Pass pass pass.

Don't know if anyone remembers but Berbatov hit the post similarly like Valencia did a few years ago at anfield. I was hoping it wasn't Deja vu all over again.

Supporting your players as opposed to making insulting and small ime remarks about them makes you a TOP RED? :wenger::wenger:

These match day threads are so fascinating as it just shows who actually gets football and who doesn't.

So a player that has been abysmal in the first half can't be called out?

What's the point in being a fan?

I would wager even Park would admit he wasn't up to par in the first half. But fans can't make the point, oh holier than thou one.

Ah, and it proves people don't know football. Right. All you do is bitch bitch bitch.

Scholes has been phenomenal, bit worried about the 2nd half though because they will go for it and our midfield isn't exactly the most spritely midfield you'll ever see.

McManaman talking about Enrique missing the tackle against Rafael right before the goal:

"he's got the opportunity to stick Rafael into row Z...WHACK!"

Twat.

I agree this is a Berba type of game.

I'd like to know why Liverpool retarded fans are booing Evra.

Who cares? It's not affecting him and they're showing the world that they want to keep racism in the game.

I think they might have sung 'there's only one lying bastard' but there's shitloads more than that at Anfield. We're still waiting for Dalglish's super secret information that the report kept from us to see the light of day.

Wimbledon style!

ITV get the knives out for DDG, how predictable.

No mention of the brilliant save early on and the solid clearance from the following corner. Wankers.

Easy to say now but I wish we had used it against Barca

Has a lot to do with Liverpool sitting deep and allowing them all the time in the world. I'm sure Kenny will be telling them to close down Scholes. Then again, they had a tiring game mid week and that will take up a lot of energy.

Pleased so far - good fight back from the lads! Passing's been fine too.

More of the same in thr second half!

Need our class to stamp itself from the first minute in 2nd half. our MF needs to convert possession into more penetrating passes. Not sure about Welbeck. Would be tempted to try Hernandez or Berbs.

I agree this is a Berba type of game.

Hopefully we see him on around 70th min for Danny. He'll be great keeping the ball and setting up a few balls in the box you can just see Scholes getting at the end of one.
