He is. That said, having seen what kind of synergies a resurgent Allen and Henderson offered in front of Lucas, I think there may be questions about how swiftly he goes back into the first XI. At least if they keep this up. Spurs couldn't live with our pressing. The kind of midfield control in midfield, especially off the ball, that trio offers may outweigh what Gerrard brings to the table.
In some games anyway. There will be plenty of games where control is conceded to us more easily and it's all about the extra quality to break teams down. Gerrard is a no-brainer for such games.

Henderson has been great this season. Some of Daglish signings have not been so bad after all. Henderson and Suarez are easy to forget how good signings they have been when he signed Downing and Carroll.
Getting Suarez to sign a new contract is a huge confidence boost not only for the team but Rodgers to. I don't think they have the depth in squad to win the league this season, but things are starting to tick for them and they are sometimes playing some great football. I do think it's time to take them more seriously than has been necessary for some time.
I'll admit I'm a bit worried about Liverpool right now. Forget money power and all that, in footballing terms, they look to be really progressing. And that's a great base to have to achieving success long term. It's a tad worrying that they're getting the basics spot on while we seem to be terribly messed up in that regard (despite having a far better squad).

I've said it for a while, Henderson is fantastic.
They're really good this season. Their football has been very pleasing on the eye. So much movement, creativity and pace in their attacks. It's like every team has adopted this modern system of high pressing and quick attacking football with lots of movement, except Manchester United who still rely on wide wingers, stand-off defending and slow buildup.
You can go and support them.

I reckon your club is going to spend in January to gamble on finishing in the top 4 this season. If it fails, Saurez is off for a huge transfer, no way your owners will justify paying Saurez 200k a week, when your team would be better off getting two to three players who could improve your starting 11.
Wish I shared your optimism. I'd still make City favourites, but I'm really not ruling out the nightmare scenario...

I find City a lock for six points, and Everton may likely drop points from the nine I'm anticipating. Liverpool @ Chelsea could go either way although I anticipate Chelsea finding a way to gain at least a point at home; Arsenal @ Newcastle the same. This will be a very tight race in the top half but City will position themselves to make a strong second-half run.
