I agree. He's properly disappeared since there were rumours that he's going to Chelsea. Even that Andy Mitten guy, who apparently has good ties withing the club, said that the players think Nani is moving to another Premiership team.

Hadn't heard the rumours of a move to another Prem team.

Simply can't see that happening unless it's a monster fee.

I think he's actually injured. But between his contract situtation, reported contract demands and struggle to maintain the sort of form that would justify such a contract, it's certainly quite logical that he'll be off.

Of course he's fecking injured. If he is on his way out(which I hope he's not), wouldn't SAF want to display him a bit to raise his market value, instead of telling him to fake an injury?

It's bizarre that people would come to the conclusion that he isn't really injured.

In Nani's defense, when I went to the training session in Chicago he signed autographs the longest and made sure to get all the kids at the end of the line.

Some like Rio and Rooney skipped the cheap seat side entirely and preferred to sit on the bus and wait.

People seem to betray him as a dislikable bloke off the pitch because of some of his behaviour on it, but I'd agree he seems to be the complete opposite.

Never thought about it that way. He's had all this time off - and yet he still hasn't accepted a new contract. How many years is on his contract by the way? Because Fergie did say today that United have a strategy of renewing contracts when entering the final two years.

As a result, I'm assuming his contract runs out Summer '14?

(Once again I may come across as the anti-Nani, but I seriously do wish he signs a contract with us. Great player to watch on his day).

He´s off and good riddance. I would love him to stay cause when at his best he really is worldclass. However it seems we wanna get rid and noone of us know the behind the scenes stuff so if the man who brought us 12 leaguetitles is ready to give up on him then feck off

Is anyone else expecting him to have some sort of miracle recovery and return before the new year?

No one knows what his injury is or whether he's injured anyway. So no I don't expect him back any time soon. Which is a shame really.

I don't think I could handle seeing him not turn 270 degrees to pass the ball.

Really hope he gets back in the team or someone of his style/quality is brought in. Some of Valencia's performances this season have been at least as bad if not worse than Nani's against Everton which he got so much stick for. Difference is atm the majority of the team is playing well where as against Everton no one really was.

He is gone IMO, I mean he's not even "back in training" yet, what did he do break his leg in half ?!?

Probably but then look at Kagawa, his "two weeks" has been considerably longer as well from a seemingly innocuous injury.

Thinking maybe the stage is set for him to come back? I don't know what the deal is with his 'injury' but it would be great to see him get back in the team, playing on the right where he's so much better. Valencia is playing like a turd so it's there for the taking.

Yep, I'm hoping if nothing else then this absence will show some reds just what we are missing and it should put paid to the idea of Val being consistent and Nani not.

If he's up for it, he would have no problems in displacing Valencia, the way he's playing. Young on the other hand has improved, and certainly wasn't bad today.

But Valencia's recent form (which proved he's also inconsistent) doesn't make Nani consistent, ffs.

We can agree they're both inconsistent.

I don't think in recent years that Nani has been as ineffectual for a sustained period as Valencia has been at times over this season. And at least Nani's frustrations come from him trying to do too much and it not coming off rather than Valencia who is simply doing nothing at times.

But tbh it does't have to be Nani or Valencia, preferably we could have them both. On form they're both devestating.

4 points clear with Kagawa and Nani injured.

I really miss watching Nani easily skipping past players.

We better buy someone else if we're planning on selling him this winter. We desperately need something else if Valencia's form continues.

Has Nani been sighted at any of the recent club parties or functions like the statue unveiling?

The longer he is missing, the more clear it will become in just how valuable he is to the team. I highly doubt that he will be leaving in January, as SAF said that we are definitely not bringing anybody else in.

It would be beyond crazy to sell Nani and not have somebody else lined up.

He was at the statue unveiling but that was the last time I saw him make a public appearance. Has he turned up to watch United from the stands or a box at Old Trafford?

Agreed, it seems so odd not utilising him if he is fit, especially when Valencia is playing so poorly. Nani could be getting a long run in the team at the moment on his favored right side. He is pretty devastating coming inside too, much like Young was doing yesterday bar Nani is better at it due to his inter-play and finishing being far superior.

We have never suffered that much on the wings of late so rather frustrating when we have the talent but for whatever reason refuse to use it (that is if he has recovered)

In my opinion he looks certain to go. If he hasn't been at the Christmas party with his mates there is clearly something up. Every video I have seen of Nani at the club portrays him as quite a big character and certainly one of the lads so having him missing on these kinds of things with his mates proves we must have made a decision on him and there has been some kind of falling out.

Shame really as just when our squad looks brilliantly stocked in almost all departments something like this crops up and we lose another player. Not to mention that Nani is very talented and now one of our more experienced heads. He has the ability to win us a game in a situation like yesterday away from home, or in a tight encounter against one of the big boys.

Such a waste.

It's pretty obvious that he's going to leave, in January or next Summer. He's been frozen out by Fergie and there's no way back, we'll have to find him a new club and try to get the best price possible but after we sold van Nistelrooy in a similar situation for around £10m I'm not too hopeful.

I do think there's a very real possibility he will leave before the start of next season. Right now he is injured though.

Do wish we could have an estimate even on an expected return date still, do miss the lad, when he is on form he is very different to other options we have and can be a real threat
