we'll give them back 6-1 we suffered I wished.

I hope you realise SAF reads this thread before picking his matchday squad, depending on who makes the thread.

He was probably thinking, give that Leroy a bit of a run, until he gets too big for his boots, VidaRed thinks he can beat me? I'll show him.

Who's this Charlefan bloke? Maybe I should let him win one, that would stir things up.

It has nothing to do with that we are not a half bad football team and win quite a few games anyway, its all about the person who starts the matchday thread on RedCafe...

OP's a bit wank btw..;)

I have a feeling we'll win.

Hopefully we'll see:

De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Smalling Evra
Carrick Jones
Valencia Giggs Nani
Rooney

I'm feeling a good win.

1-4 to us is my vote, Nani having an absolute blinder.

You'll see!

Apologies I dont know where Vidared gets the cool shirt png's from that obviously make all the difference ;)

FYI I used to have a good record in the matchday creating thread wars back when pert was around. That was before vidared came onto the scene :smirk:

I hope you bring us luck, we are going to need it against the massives.

1-4 away to City? 'Kinell, get realistic people, we'd do well to earn a replay.

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Rafael
CB: Smalling
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Jones
LM: Nani

CF: Rooney
CF: Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Fryers, Anderson, Giggs, Park, Berbatov, Hernandez

Given the way football is we'll probably win this one

Don't really predict 0-0's but I think it might be a stalemate. Either that or 2-1 to City.

I don't have a good feeling about this one. City have been formiddable at home. I think they'll beat us 2-1.

November/December 2001

Lost away to Arsenal on the Sunday when Barthez gifted the game to them!

Lost at home to Chelsea the following Saturday
Lost at home to West Ham a week later

Hmm, sorry, though I'd heard this several times.

Were they not all league games, is that the record?

Does this ring a bell for anyone, I could swear SAF has some such record for not losing games in a row.

I dread to think of the reaction if City do beat us tbh

its just your imagination.

Sir Alex has NEVER lost 3 games in a row.

This streak cannot end.

pretty sure we did back in about 97 aswell, vialli scored in a 2-1 win for chelsea which im pretty sure was a 3rd in a row

edit: yes i am correct:
Newcastle 0-5 L
Swindon 2-1 W
Southampton 3-6 L
Fenerbache 0-1 L
Chelsea 1-2 L
Arsenal 1-0 W
Juventus 0-1 L

5 defeats in 7...for those interested it was followed by a 202 with boro, and a league cup exit to lowly leicester...bad run!

Its just the FA cup.
Who cares about the FA cup
Its not important
Getting knocked out means more time to concentrate on the league..

white text... :-(

Last time we lost 3 consecutive games* (all comps):

May 5, 2001 -United 0-1 Derby Country
May 13, 2001 - Southampton 2-1 United
May 19, 2001 - Tottenham 3-1 United

*The footnote of course being that United were crowned as Premiership winners on April 29.

Everyone saying that run of Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham is wrong, thats the last time we lost three league games in a row. We beat Boavista at home between losses 2 and 3 of that sequence.

Hope to jaysus that Ferguson resists the idea of starting Anderson after he's brought him on the last two games.

Be a tight game I expect, 1-0 to City.

Omgzzz.... Europa is all we can hope for this season. Out of title race by the first week of January, back to back disgraceful league defeats, petulant cnuts like Rooney who do not give two shits about united and to top it all off, we'll most probably be knocked out of the FA cup by a small-time bitter club full of mercenaries.

jk ;-).. we'll tear them blue bastards a new arsehole...

a loss is expected but we desperately need a response and prove the doubters wrong, our pride is hurting badly and the 6-1 still hurts....

According to the odds, United drawing or better is more likely than City winning.

Let's hope the players are't wallowing in their poo like some of you lot.

I'd say go with 3 in midfield but I'm not sure we have 3 fit and I doubt Giggs will play a second game in 5 days. As for strikers, well they were all crap tonight so I guess just go with Welbeck and Rooney since they were the two involved during our very good early form.

I think that we should play with only one striker against them.

I'd go with Carrick, Jones and Giggs in central midfield, with Nani and Valencia (if Rafael is ready) on the wing. And I really hope Smalling will be back for this game.
