Manchester United v Crawley Town

would have actually left out Rooney place on the bench to Morrison.

Anyone else hope we absolutely smash the cnuts? Magic of the cup indeed, there's nothing magic about Crawley Town.

The Doom Merchants won't be impressed if he gets Man of the Match today.

When United played Scunthorpe this season he was one of the most impressive players (alongside Owen and Park) and saved the team from embarrasment in that game, with his quick goal and an assist later in that game.

He's had quite a few games against weaker teams where he's not really stood out though, and I don't think he's really the type of player to stand out amongst the other inexperienced players (or at least not in this stage of his development). Some of his best performances have been with a full strength team in the more difficult matches he's played.

Should be a lot of movement with those three ahead of him and he could take advantage of that, but if the two wingers have an off-day it could make things very difficult for out midfielders and chances are he'll take the brunt of that blame.

I'd like to have seen Pogba start given we are playing a 3 man midfield, but he will hopefully get to come on along with King.

You're obviously a fan of his, so we will see how he performs today.

I'm a fan of United, not especially Gibson. I am, however, very much not a fan of idiots slagging players off for no reason and being general doom merchants.

You obviously have a problem with reading, where have slagged him off? I just pointed out that he needs to put in a good performance against Crawley..

Not exactly "slagging" him off....

I guess its that time of the month for you R_Thick

I'd love to have seen Pogba start too but I'd be worried that it's perhaps not the sort of game for him to have his debut in, he won't get much time on the ball and they're going to be very physical although that said, I think his technical ability alongside Carrick and Anderson would be alot more benficial compared to the static Gibson.

Did you stop reading half way through my post? Miss the 'general doom merchants' bit? You said he needs to be the best player on the park or he'll be sold, that's the kind of stupid crap I'm talking about. It's also indirectly slagging him off by saying he's not good enough.

As for directly slagging players off, you have form for it.

edit: nice word play by the way, but perhaps you should try and graduate from primary school thinking if you want to be taken seriously.

Here's hoping for a solid start with a few goals before half time, giving SAf chance to get the younger players involved.

Is it wrong that of all the things I want to see this afternoon, Pogba getting decent minutes is top of the list!

R_Nick you are a bit touch today, we will agree to disagree on this one mate.

Hey John, hope you are well pal.

I'd say second on the list behind 'win', but no there's nothing wrong with it, I'm very exited at the prospect of seeing the kids get a run out this evening :)

Really hope Tunnicliffe gets a few minutes.
actually all 3 .. but that would mean fabio has to last 90 minutes

I'm good thanks Nick - you well?

I guess i'd taken the win fro granted - which is ok me doing but hopefully the players haven't the same attitude as me!!

Yea mate, not bad at all.

hehe, I'm sure the players will be up for it, especially the youngsters trying to make a name for themselves. Just hope the older lads don't get lax.

Did you know Crawley are also know as the Red Devils?

Is that right?

A good mate of mine saw Crawley play Wrexham at the beginning of the week. He said they was more crap than he expected. Maybe they was taking it easy. He said that their player Tubbs does look pretty good when in the box, but apart from that they arent anything special. He reckons we will murder them. I hope hes right.

Just been behind a guy in betfred, he was putting £3000 on us at 14/1 on

I know its like £420 profit, but im not sure id have that much confidence in todays team selection

It could be a bit physical for him I guess, but sometimes these are good games to test the metal and gain experience of a different type of match to the reserve games young players are used to.
