4-0 Rooney with another hat trick

If the rumours about Anderson are to be believed, we're a little bit short on CM options if we were to pick up any injuries in that area. Anyone think Fergie might consider giving Valencia a game in that area in a 4-3-3?

There is Villa game in midweek, so I would expect a "weakend team", maybe even a rest for Rooney.

Vidic has a calf strain, Rio's banned, Sheasy and Hargreaves probably aren't going to miraculously recover but there's still a bit of rotation he might do.

No need to rest anyone. We have a full week to recover and the following weekend off as well.

If we can't beat Pompey(who would have sold half their squad by then) without Wayne then we really do have some issues. With a big game away to Villa, I think this is the perfect chance to give him a breather because every game after this is tough, so we'll need him.

Agreed, I'd go for this team as well. Hopefully Vidic is ready for this so he can get back in the groove for Villa.

Here's a game crying out for a 442 :)

Lets fecking batter these poor bastards!

Its like 11 lambs v 11 wolfs = mega bloodbath.

They are going to get mudered.

Realistically about 6-0

hoping though and why not 13-0

the goal difference might be a factor at the end of the season. If we dont batter them, then we might live to regret it.

What is the situation with Vidic?

Going by current trends he will make the squad, and pull out in the warm ups.

In any case, we really don't need him unless he is perfectly fit. Needs to be ready for Villa. I think Brown and Evans should be more then enough against pompey.

Would like to see the same defense v Pompey - Nani certainly deserves to keep his place. I just think though, that he should actually play on the right, but given Valencia's likely start, he'll be moved to the left.

Maybe Ando will pop up out of nowhere on Saturday...

With Nani in hot form on the right, I dare wouldnt feck with it. I'd rather try playing valencia through the middle.

It'd be hard to drop the likes of Nani, Scholes, Carrick and Giggs after good performances lately, especially the former two. However, Scholes playing four games in a row has to be a no. Whether that means dropping him completely or having him on the bench is debatable. Nani has played three in a row, on the right, but I think Valencia has to start one now, to be given some kind of chance and game time, so if Nani plays four in a row it'll be from the left.

I'd like to see Anderson come straight back in if ready, but having Fletcher there is fine - with either Anderson or Gibson on the bench. Park would only be on the bench if he plays at all I think. Vidic should maybe only be on the bench and get some time on in the second half.

Ideal substitutions would be Rafael off for Vidic, with Brown going to right back. Valencia off for Giggs, Nani to the right of a front three with Berbatov and Rooney, and Giggs in the middle. Then maybe give Owen a bit of time with Rooney going off and playing 442 again with Giggs on the left, Nani on the right. Lots of options and this should be a game where rotation is an option.

Although, I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of Obertan, Diouf, or Gibson again. Maybe off the bench though.

Im sure we'll go back to 4-4-2 for this one especially given the opposition and the game being at Old trafford, i would stick with Nani on the right wing simply because i dont think you want to be messing around with someone whos in such form as he is right now, undoutedly playing the best football weve seen of him in a United shirt, thats 3 games in a row played out there on the right wing where hes been nothing short of brilliant, its tough on Valencia whos had an excellent season for us thus far but Nanis got the shirt and frankly his form is that good if it aint broke dont fix it, you could argue he could switch to the left with Valencia coming in on the right but i wouldnt personally take the risk of messing with Nanis form and switching him, hes found a great rythem out on that right wing and is playing superbly just leave him to get on with it.

If Vidic is fit then he has to come in at centre half especially with the the Milan games looming large now were going to need to get some minutes into his legs and Portsmouth shouldnt cause us to many problems so it would be an ideal game for him....think the rest of the team picks itself with a full weeks rest/preperation time for this one i dont see any need to 'rest' or 'rotate' anybody.

Carrick should play, he's on fire at the moment. Berba could score in this one, I predict him to start with Rooney. Nani should also get the nod to continue his good form. Not sure about Vidic, just don't know what's going on with him.

15:40 - He and the missus have found the perfect place along the coast about halfway between Girona and Barcelona but are dragging their feet, trying to scare the agent and lawyer into dropping their fees a few percent.

 They should try not to annoy the wrong people, if you ask me

Winning is essential... without loosing players with injuries... getting the team into form for the final hurdles...
