brown ferdinand vidic evra

ronaldo anderson carrick tevez

rooney berbatov

Have more faith in tevez there over giggs and nani. brown should start if fit he helped us keep lots of clean sheets last season and we could do with a run of them.
Wed go on a great run with that team if saf picks it, but he wont.

Have a feeling O'shea will start if Brown isnt fit, with the long throws n all. Berbatov, Rooney and Ronaldo to start hopefully

I expect Shea to be part of the squad. His hieght will come in handy in defending the long throws.

Gonna go for something a little different here :/ lol

----------------- Van der Sar ---------------
- Brown ---- Ferdinand --- Vidic ---- O'Shea -
-------- Carrick ----------- Anderson --------
Ronaldo ----------- Rooney ------------- Nani
------------------ Berbatov -----------------

Subs: Kuszczak, Rafael, Neville, Evra, Giggs, Park & Tévez

While it may be overspecializing a bit, having seven (eight including Van der Sar) players who are 6ft+ (Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, O'Shea, Ronaldo, Carrick, Berbatov) to take on Stoke is a good thing. If Brown isn't fit, I'd probably still go with O'Shea at Right Back instead of Rafael / Neville, Evra in his usual Left Back role, with probably Evans taking up the last space on the bench (unless Fletcher is fit). We can always inject some pace late on in the full back roles with Rafael and Evra if we don't start them, which will be very worrying for Stoke. Giggs will probably play, as mentioned by someone earlier on, but I still don't expect him to start.

We might be better off playing football against Stoke rather than chucking on taller players, since we're at Home and we'll probably get a load of free kicks around the box. But Ronaldo hasn't got his shooting boots on yet, have we even created a goal from a free kick this season yet? :/

Ill be in amsterdam on saturday so ill be sitting in a coffee somewhere getting baked trying to watch it! Any ideas where i can sit smoke and watch, from you fellow dam goers?

I was there at Carrington and Utd were practicing not letting the ball over the side line - so Delap will be toothless.

really though, we should kill them but I'll be happy with the 3 pts, however we get it.

I guess Stoke will sit deep like most opposition teams at OT and just lump it forward to their striker(s), hoping that they'll win a throw in.

when we are going to see Rooney Tevez partnership restored ? Fergie is great manager but wants berba to start every game to justify the money paid for him,,thats on Tevez's expense :(

Or maybe he just thinks Berbatov's a better player and Tevez isn't playing well?

Berba or Tevez : i will pick Tevez any day, im sure most fans will agree Fergie said that he will rotate strikers, since the liverpool game Tevez started only the celtic game

Tevez and Rooney to start for me, Rooney to find his scoring boots again and Tevez to find some form, Berba can come off the bench if needed.

Few points:

Can VDS, Rio, Vida and Evra please all pull their fingers out of their arses?
Rooney and Berba: goals please.

Delap: feck off.

United may be without striker Wayne Rooney for Saturday's Premier League clash with Stoke City at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson told his pre-match press conference that the 23-year-old is carrying a chest infection, and is a doubt for the visit of Tony Pulis' side.

While its a blow, the fact that we've got Tevez to replace him doesn't make it all that bad.

If O'Shea does play, I can see it being at right back if Brown isn't fit. Personally I'd still go with Rafael at right back even though he is a midget, I'm guessing that Stoke won't (or least shouldn't) have too much of the ball and we'll need good quality going forward to break them down.

Full backs are vital in the attacking third these days and Evra and Rafael are bloody good at attacking, the best we've got and for that reason I don't think it'd be right to play O'shea as he just doesn't have the same quality in those wide areas.

Regarding throw ins from Delap, VDS as a major part to play in that. And I'm hoping for better performances from Rio and Vidic than what we've seen in recent weeks.

If Fletcher is fit I can see him partnering Carrick in the centre, with Nani and Ronaldo on the wings. If Fletcher isn't fit, then Anderson comes in and should be alright as he's a competitive little sod!

Usually, not having Evra would be a massive blow but I think an extra few inches in our back four might come in handy, when we're dealing with Delaps massive throw-ins.

An extra few inches always come in handy for a massive blow.

I had a dream last night that Anderson scored, make of it what you will

United has got to try and defend aginst the "Delap throw".
and beat them with counter attack.
How? Use the correct tactics. Stoke will send all their tall players into United box whenever they have free kicks and throw -ins. United should use 3 centre-backs with height and play with 2 wing backs that has speed to catch out the slow Stoke defenders that will be in United box.
Heres the line up that will be advantageous to United:

VDS

Brown(if fit) Rio Vidic
Evans

Rafael Evra

Carrick Anderson

Ronaldo Tevez Rooney(if fit)
Berbatov

A few have put carrick with fletcher in the middle. i just feel we lack a bit of creativity from there when 2 def mids play which is what they really are.

Anderson is showing more signs of attacking intent this season and as some have said i hope he scores really soon.

Fletch could play more on the right flank with someone like Giggsy starting off centrally with Carrick.

And he might bag himself another goal too.

i had a dream last season that we'd win the league and beat the scousers in the champions league final. id say thats pretty close!

This Delap thing is overrated stop mentioning it.

Sentences like this usually have devastating consequences but feck it.
