i cant see saf putting anyone else other than rooney on the left.

i also think he's going to start o'shea instead of rafael.

I think we will play

Arsenals defence has been shakey as feck, add to that the atmosphere of a CL semi and the prospect of Rooney and Ronnie hounding them, we really should get in their faces from the off and just terrorise them.

Almunia
Sagna Toure Djourou Gibbs
Song Fabregas
Walcott Diaby Nasri
Adebayor

(if Sylvestre is fit he might play and appparently there's a doubt over Gibbs now)
if BOTH of them are out I guess the back 4 will be:
Eboue Toure Djourou Sagna -- could it be anything else?

if Djourou is out in addition, which is possible, it'd be:
Eboue Toure Song Djourou
Denilson Cesc

One really neat possibility, which we experimented with v Boro is Nasri in a holding/deep playmaking role. That would be:

Song Nasri
Walcott Cesc Diaby (?)*
Ade

*No Arshavin, so Diaby -- or Eboue? Vela? Bendtner? Bendtner or Eboue seem more likely than Vial but neither ever play on the left. Really, Nasri's the only person we have to play there.

Please play Nasri in the holding/defensive role

He played a bit of a holding role against middlesbrough and did pretty well... but it is middlesbrough. That said Song Denilson Cesc will be our middle 3. Nasri will be wide left and walcott/van persie wide right. Adebayor up front.

Ronaldo, and possibly Rafael, should seriously demolish their left side. Neither Gibbs nor Silvestre can control him.

you don't think it might be Diaby instead of Denilson? Wenger played Denilson and not Diaby on Sunday. Besides, Diaby can play behind the striker well, which would allow us to shift Cesc and Nasri around.

Wenger has been Denilson's biggest fan this season especially after he has played almost every game this season. Nasri played a whole game as well. IF Cesc gets bossed too much i would mind seeing Diaby come in to add some balls. Denilson is just a more sound player infront of the back 4 then Diaby is at this point in time.

Wouldnt mind seeing Cesc getting subbed at some point in the match

First thing that came to my mind when I woke up this morning was tonight's match. I'm on a half day from work and thank god, otherwise I wouldn't be able to concentrate sitting here this afternoon. I'm floating between excited and nervous, I can't wait for it.

Could ti be that tonight's match will be the yang to last night's yin or whatever?

4-2, 3-2, 3-3, 2-1 even with a barrel load of chances? A lot would depend on the attacking intent of the two sides and how long it takes them to settle i suppose.

Arsenal will be seeking the away goal and defending their chances of progression through taking it to us, we counter in return, the ingredients are certainly there if proceedings follow such a pattern. Then again if our midfield is resilient and robust it could well break up much of the threat.

I am expecting us to concede at least once, the question is when and what we've sent their way.

Much of this post is me thinking aloud. :) So ignore as you please.

That's a good line-up (except for the mysterious absence of Fletcher, who;s not even on the bench )

Anderson should have a shout playing against the Arse. Generally, does well against Fabregas.

There are goals in this one. Berbatov, Rooney and Ronaldo against a below par Arsenal defence.

Walcott and Nasri against an out of sorts Evra and utility man O'Shea.

Should be a good game but I can see both teams scoring.

Cant help shake the feel that we may see Berba, Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo in the starting 11 tonight

2-1 with goals from Rooney, Vidic. Walcott for L'Arse.

wonder if he'll play Park on the left of midfield to try to track Walcott cos Evra can't do it all by himself.

Personally we should play our strongest attacking lineup (with common sense in midfield) and let Arsenal worry about trying to contain us rather than the other way round.

Arsenals defense will be stronger in their home tie, so lets sieze the momment and hurt Arsenal hard.

I'm also agreeing and going with a 3-1 scoreline to Utd.

We play at Old Trafford, at home! We need to attack, don't think too much about defence. I'm sure Park will play at Emirates.
