I am going to this one with the missus, her grandad who is going to his first game in over 30 years at Old Trafford, and I am taking my parents, who have never been to a proper game, only a couple of United friendlies. My mum is literally bursting with excitement!

Hope we win big :)

Considering Vidic is suspended and Rio has looked a little short of fitness, I wonder if we should play Brown and Evans at CB for this match.

---------------VDS---------------
O'Shea-----Rio-----Vidic------Evra
Valencia---Carrick--Fletch*----Nani
---------Rooney----Owen---------

Subs: Foster, Brown, Evans, Anderson, Giggs, Obertan, Berbatov.

*If Fletch still isn't fit, then Scholes in his place.

Also I'd like to see Owen start a league match, although I do think that Berbatov will start and Owen will be benched but the above is what I'd like to see.

VDS

Brown
Evans
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Anderson
Fletcher
Nani

Berbatov
Owen

Subs: Foster, Rooney, Rio, Giggs, Obertan, O'Shea, Raphael

Won't do Rooney and Rio any harm to have a sit on the bench, both could do with a kick in the ass and it might do the trick.

4.30am Sunday morning here, gutted, hate these late games as early Sunday there's always coppers in Sydney breathalising, means I can't have a drink or the wife has to drive, dunno which I hate more....

Hopefully we'll have Fletch back for this one as its shown in his absence we’ve missed his tenacity and sheer energy in the midfield and against a side like Blackburn who will undoubtedly put 5 in midfield and be extremely physical i think we'll need Darren back for this one….if nothing else it will freshen up the midfield which has been looking and playing liks its off the pace…

Id also go with Anderson alongside him for this one as i think he deserves a run of games in there especially as no one apart from felcth seems to have nailed down a spot in midfield...Carrick has been well below his best all season and whilst hes shown improvements of late hes still nowhere near the Player we know he can be….Scholes has been to hot and cold to deserve a regular place to in my opinion…one good game seems to follow one bad game with him this season with excellent displays at Stoke and Spurs matched by poor ones against Sunderland and Liverpool… i would rather see Anderson given a run of games and see if he like Fletcher can stamp his authority in the team....there’s still the nagging worries over Andersons stamina for a full 90 minutes and his ability to work effectively in a central midfield two but to be honest other than Fletcher no one else has stamped down their place in the side so why not give him his opportunity…

Think the rest of the team picks itself assuming there are no injuries before the weekend...i don’t see Owen starting on Saturday ahead of Berbatov especially after playing this evening...

Anderson and Fletcher please in the center of the park; have no problem with Scholes starting provided we play a 4-3-3

Team should be....

GK: VDS

RB: O'Shea
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM Valencia
CM: Fletcher
CM: Carrick
LM: Nani

CF: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

Subs: Foster, Rafael, Evans, Scholes, Anderson, Giggs, Owen

Wont be as easy as everyone thinks, 2-1 Valencia and Nani with the goals

Nor do I, that's why I don't think Carrick should be in the starting lineup

I don't think we have the capability to play a 4-3-3 these days mate now Ronaldo has left, we used to be with him and Tevez with Rooney but that system can't seem to strive with Berbatov and/or Owen as they're not that sort of player. 4-3-3's are best served with three players (usually one winger type) who can all run at their man with crisp interplay, neither Berbatov or Owen operates in this way, Berbatov likes to hold up the ball and seek out a pass whilst Owen can reeive the ball with bis back to goal and lay it off or receive the ball from a sideways run but neither can attack in fluid motion as we did with Ronaldo-Rooney-Tevez or Rooney-Ronaldo-Park versus Arsenal which was so effective also.
Unless we played Rooney-Welbeck-Giggs perhaps, but that might not be our best lineup....

Prediction:2-0
Rooney, Evra clearly unfit as seen during game against Liverpool
Rio out of form and needs to be benched to get a kick in the arse.

Agree with this line-up.

A serious question? Is Park alive? I haven't seen him in a long time (not that I'd really miss him...). My starting XI would be

Van der Sar
Rafael - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Valencia - Carrick - Fletcher - Nani
Owen - Berbatov

... assuming Fletcher is fit and Rooney makes the bench.

2-1

As per usual, we'll make hard work of a team that the likes of Arsenal/Chelsea destroyed, and then everyone will call Blackburn 'game raising cnuts' :)

van der Sar
O'Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Valencia Fletcher Carrick Giggs
Berbatov Rooney
--
Foster; Brown, Evans; Anderson, Scholes, Nani; Owen

Basically what could currently be seen as our strongest side. Scholes has been poor lately, and when Carrick has played (maybe last two games) he's looked much better, seems he's finally got into some kind of decent form so he should keep playing. Fletcher back in if fit will sure things up and hopefully allow us to win the ball back and play it around with Carrick. I think Scholes and sometimes Giggs, think they have more time on the ball than they actually do, which costs us possession so much so often. I think Carrick can spread the play a bit quicker and loses the ball less, when he's in good nick.

We know that Blackburn have been demolished by Arsenal and Chelsea as of late, but that's probably just going to make Big Sam decide to sure things up even more so they don't take another hammering. He seems too scared to ever try and play against the big teams, but it's obviously not getting him anywhere - so perhaps he might actually try and attack us? Although I doubt it. Still, despite Blackburn being likely a little stronger, more determined and better prepared to deal with a team that's likely to score a lot of games against them, I feel we need to be winning this game 4-0+ if we want to put things right after that appalling loss at Anfield.

Blackburn were absolutely terrible at Arsenal and more recently Chelsea. Just fecking awful. Allardyce has his side park the bus and hope for the best. It's not working at all, and if it wasn't for Paul Robinson, Arsenal and Chelsea could have had 10 goals a piece easily.
With this in mind, Allardyce might be tempted to come out and attack us, but I doubt it.

Our last two home games have been more uncomfortable than we would have liked, so I think it's critical we put on a good display against Blackburn. The Sunderland and Bolton matches were poor performances. We must improve.

I think we'll line up like this:

van der Sar
O'Shea • Ferdinand • Vidic • Evra
Valencia • Carrick • Anderson • Giggs
Berbatov • Rooney

Substitutes:
Foster, Brown, Rafael, Scholes, Nani, Tosic, Owen

We shouldn't rush Fletcher back into action, and I don't think he really suits these kind of games anyway, especially as Blackburn are likely to park the bus. Anderson was very good midweek, and Carrick was one of the very few players to come away with any credit against Liverpool. The rest of the team basically picks itself. I think Ferdinand and Vidic will be given time to get back into form.

I'll go for a 3-0 win to United. Anderson, and Rooney (x2) to score.

He wasn't helped by having half his team, probably the better half, out against Chelsea.

looking forward to this one, cheers to gaffs for tickets!

rooney berbatov

think anderson deserves to get a run of games in the 1st team, was disappointed we didnt see him against liverpool. i think he has really come on this year.

rooney has to play - he's in one of his grey patches, but he always plays his way out of it. a goal or two against a dodgy blackburn team could be what he needs.

O'Shea Evans Vidic Fabio

Give Rooney, Rio and Evra a rest bring on as subs if needed.

It would be nice too see a Da Silva twin start as well as Fletcher too. I've missed him :(

Bro, Vidic is on a red. Put either Rio/Brown in and you should be okay.
