Manchester United vs Everton

1145: Just on the subject of Manchester United, I'd just like to take a moment to salute the Sun newspaper. This morning, they reveal the quite brilliant stat that all nine league goals Edwin van der Sar has conceded have all gone in the same side of the goal, prompting the magnificent headline: Pass The Dutchman On The Left Hand Side. Admittedly, it's only magnificent if you're of a certain age and remember Musical Youth, but still...

BBC is reporting Fabio is back, which is great news. That said I doubt he'll start against Everton as we'll want O'Shea's aerial ability and strength. So I'm going to join the masses in predicting:

--------------------VdS--------------------
Neville-------Rio-----------Vidic-------O'shea
----------Carrick------------Giggs----------
Ronaldo---------------------------------Park
-----------Tevez-----Berbatov--------------

Subs: Foster, Brown, Fabio, Scholes, Fletcher, Gibson, Welbeck

Why would you pick Giggs? Everyone knows he can't play two games in a week, and he's said that himself.

Carrick-Scholes for me today, and then the rest of the team pretty much picks itself.

Whats the obsession EVERYONE has with pairing carrick with fletcher? it lacks serious creativity and is scholes not good enough for the first team anymore.

Is that why we beat Newcastle 6-0 with it last season and Roma 7-1 the season before?

:wenger:

True - but there will be a week before the next match at least (I think). But you're probably right, Scholes-Carrick is more likely. That said, on current form, I'd like to see Giggs if he's fit enough.

Will be a tough game. I'd rather giggs didn't start as if his good form is down to how we're using him - keeping him fresh, it'd be a bit backwards playing him when we don't have too

The team news will be interesting but we're in form at the minute so it might not be THAT important. Let's not forget the midfield we put out against chelsea. It did the job on the day

Can't wait for this one, the prospect of seeing Berbatov play football is just :P

Looks like good news for tomorrow........

Toffees boosted by Cahill prognosis

Everton's Tim Cahill has been spared a lengthy spell out after X-rays revealed no break in his foot - but is unlikely to play at Old Trafford.

Cahill limped off injured towards the end of the 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday, with the club fearing that their in-form player could be missing for several games as a result.

Cahill had been playing as a makeshift striker for the Toffees in the absence of injured frontmen Louis Saha, Aiyegbeni Yakubu and James Vaughan, and another absentee would have dealt a huge blow to David Moyes' options.

But while serious injury has been avoided, heavy bruising means that the Australian is still a major doubt for the club's trip to Old Trafford on Saturday.

something in life you could set your clocks by..:D

Perfect team, definitely Fletcher suits this match more than Scholes but I do feel slightly disappointed he's getting so few games.

Cahill and Feillani start for the Scousers.

I'm off to the pub now, enjoy you bunch of feckin' Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime.

Yahoo are deluded, when Gary is on the field why would Rio be skippering the team?
