Manchester United Vs Manchester City.

i missed the game
what the feck just happened :/

Guessing a really fecking bad day.

oh well. have played all the big teams in the first round of games. Time to put a run together now

Yes, I was serious. Spoony, someone ban this guy from Match day thread starting capabilities. We need his gods, but just not as a thread starter.
Last season I went on a campaign for that fecker VidaRed and look what he did in the CL final. I think I may have to do it myself...
My feck, I have finally gone crazy..,Or...

I am superstitious too...but

hey just thought Elvis starting those weird threads always came good for us.

come on Elvis :)

Let's be honest, we all knew they were going to put 6 past us today.

Eh? How did you work this out?

Didn't watch the game, but it's an extraordinary scoreline considering it was at your place. Would never have put money on something like that happening at OT.

Nah. To be fair most of us saw it coming. No big deal.

Exactly, plus when you mull over certain facts about the match, it can fecking happen. Losing 4-1 to Liverpool was worse IMO.

Nah, this is worse. I guess it's another game that'll be etched into the history of the club. Rough with the smooth and all that.

We usually do in some style after horrific defeats such as these.

Last time we got twonked by Liverpool we went on the lose at Fulham and scrape two wins after that thanks to Macheda.

Mancini with a good interview, keeping calm and giving us some credit for continuing to attack after the sending off (that did not help our cause)

Were you watching the same game as the rest of us... City were better for the whole time (bar the first 15 or 20 minutes). Just because we held the ball more in the first doesn't make us better. They stayed back away against United which is smart and when they got the ball they attacked better. We really never got going and deserved everything we got. Fair play to those feckers at City, they were just miles and miles better.

Fair points. I'm just underwhelmed by City - despite today's result, they don't seem as talented as past Chelsea or Arsenal sides were when they challenged us for the league. Silva apart, I think they're drab.

feck the other game is in April.. I hope we drew them in every possible competition and give them a beating.

Anyway on 28 April 2012 I want blood!!

I think they are very good but I agree I don't rate the as highly as those Arsenal and Chelsea sides. The United players played their part today, just gave up and that gave City three more goals to add to the scoreline. It was a pathetic performance.

SAF to Sky:

Sending off key, can't believe score-line after the way we started. We kept attacking which is fine but when it became 4-1 we should have defended. It was crazy football at the end.

When it was 4 we should've kept our pride instead of attacking, Rio & Evra should've understood that.

Bad day at the office. Our worst ever day, but the nature of the club is that we will come back after that.

GD is a big blow after today. Could have been more, we were so open.

We'll be okay by January, we've played the top teams and that may make a difference, second half of season is important.

We will react, it's the perfect result for us to react. Alot of embarassment.

I feel disappointed, my worst defeat ever. It's a challenge for me too.

I hate that we won't even be allowed to forget this, you just know that t-shirts will be printed.

That gives me hope. Let's try and wipe this game from our memory and get back on track. We will meet Man City again and hopefully by that time things will turn out differently.

The players are gonna suffer in training for the next few days and we'll see what they're made of.

Is it really embarrassing though? We had three strikers on after going a man down. It could have gone either way really. Young had a chance to change the tone of the game and fecked it up. Can't blame SAF here. It will be just hypocrisy. He could have gone for damage control but was trusting his senior players to be discipline.
I am starting to lose faith in Rio.
Oh yes, very embarrassing. Fergie just said it was his worst ever defeat and that he was really embarrassed too. Unfortunately a day we will never be allowed to forget.

just too my dog for a walk...was trying to think when we had such a poor result. could not think of it.

just one match...we are only 5 behind and we have played all the top sides so early.

I expect it to be a cracker at rheir ground...and pity Everton :)

I thought they done mugs

They'll do the lot most likely, the whole megastore will get restocked.

At least I'm not in Manchester right now, don't want to be anywhere near a City fan right now, though I'll admit they deserve to be singing tonight.

Trying to distract myself in all ways possible but hurts like I've been skinned alive and salted.

Exactly how I feel really, the worst part is that we won't be allowed to forget it. But we'll have to do our best to move on quickly and focus on the fact that whilst our GD has taken a hit, it is not an insurmountable point gap.

if this does not confirm that we still need a class midfielder then nothing will. I know we have Cleverly but would he have made a difference today? Im not a great admirer of Carrick but maybe he should have started today.

Fergie'e reaction was the most comforting..

I'd hate to be some of those players today.

but he wont 'destroy' them.

they will all show more fire in their belly next week.

Aldershot and Everton.... :)

Cleverley would have made a huge difference. But we are lacking 'quality' in midfield.

Carrick and Fletcher are too defensive. Anderson needs a player around him who is buzzing to get him going.

I think we have some quality players in the youth sides...but it is just a year or two too early for them.

Its too late to buy anyone now.. certainly hope we get someone this summer.

We did try...but..

in giving the ball away and no desire to win it back.... his goal cannot disguise his poor display.

Now now, if our team played poorly and everyone of them redeemed themselves by scoring a goal, I wouldn't mind! Why can't you give credit where's due? Without the goal, we would have been 0-6

Ahh well....new Dexter tonight!

I've just watched something awful but don't want to go that far!!

An absolute feckin drubbing! Can't even say they don't deserve it, they have played us off the feckin park!

We had a player sent off at 46 minutes and that explains the nature of the hiding. No way would that have happened otherwise, just like Liverpool 2008 4-1. Or even the Bayern turn around.

The problem is this red card and 6-1 scoreline will now have people banging on about Sneijder for ages or that we're not good enough. We've had a good start to the season and have played Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool away inside 9 games!!! Its 2011 not May 2012.

Yes, I'm delusional. That possibly explains why I think that City were completely outplayed until the sending-off. And I must have imagined the vast, pampa-like spaces on the pitch for them to exploit afterwards.

I agree the sending off made the scoreline but no way did we completely outplay them because Joe Hart didn't have even a half decent save to make.

Today is not about having a class midfield or not! Don't you people get it? We just need someone like Keano or Gary to push the team, to never say die, to never give up, to play to the last second, to not give up (did I just say that again? Not giving up v giving up is the major reason we were dismantled today!

the last 3 goals is just crazy, spastic to concede 3 goals in 90-94 minutes....

Completely hollow achievement which ultimately counts for nothing considering it was all down to the £££££s

I know its pointless to talk about this, but i can't help but blame Fergie for some ridiculous tactics. I mean, when Evans was sent off, why wasn't Welbeck taken off for a centreback? Why persist in playing only Rio in the middle, resulting in us falling another goal behind? I mean, we do know our defence have been leaky all season, and yet he play with a 3 at the back? WTF was that? The corrent thing to do is to take away a striker, and drop back to a 4-4-1 and hoping to score on the counter, or at least keep it close till the last 10 minutes before ramping up the pressure.

Are you insane? Smalling moved to center half and Fletcher moved to right back.

Did that actually happen? Did we seriously just concede 6 at home?!
