Manchester United vs. Queens Park Rangers

This is terrible. Truly terrible. We've created almost nothing for the forwards. Our only "attack" plan has been down the flanks and its failed horribly. Again. Why we continue with 4-4-2 when we clearly don't have the players in form to make it work is beyond me? We should go 4-3-3 stick Hernandez up there between Van Persie and Rooney and bring on Cleverley and Ando to play alongside either Scholes or Fletcher. Playing like this we'll either get a bore score draw or get caught cold like we did at Carrow Road.

We're playing a team with three centre backs, two full backs (who occasionally break forward), three centre midfielders of which there is at all times two sitting in front of the centre backs. And your idea is to narrow it even more by taking off the wingers?

It's 86%. Besides the three strikers and him everyone else is hitting 90%.

Thinking of to writing a letter to have the zombie passing separated from meaningful passing.

How much of them successful passes have been to Scholes, Evans and Rio? He has given the ball away with simple misplaced passes, leaving us exposed each time. He's dallying on the ball for too long, you can hear the crowd getting on his back a bit.

The leagues whipping boys are not being whipped?

Our play has been far too flat, no enough one-twos, not enough movement and no urgency ay all. We are making QPR look like a decent outfit, when in actual fact they’re shitter than shit.

Hernandez on for Welbeck...their defence is comfortable. Need to stretch them. I have had patience with Young, but he just offers nothing.

Teams come at OT like they have a real chance of not only drawing but winning the game.United doesn't scare teams anymore, the football has been lethargic for a while now

The sad part about all this is that it was, yet again, predictable before the game even started.
And this keeps being the case.
Yeah, you can make a case for us not being solid defensively with Cleverley and Anderson in the middle, but when the feck have we actualy been defensively solid this season to begin with?
Atleast with those 2 something actualy happens, the match is actualy watchable, and we actualy create something from the middle.

Pretty poor half from us. As an attacking force we just don't look dynamic enough so far. I'm particularly disappointed by our midfield and wings. Rooney and Van Persie look like they have ideas when they get the ball but there's nowhere near enough space and movement around them to exploit. We've played into QPR's hands and allowed them to frustrate us with 10 men behind the ball. Quicker, more incisive passing will break them down.

Its a shame that Fergie keeps dropping strikers out e.g. Hernandez as if its our forwards that are the problem. As you say they're just not seeing enough of the ball. Gerd Muller would look ineffective if he played in this team. The ball simply isn't moving through midfield. Everyone seems to want to take 2-3 touches before moving it on and when its finally released its never to the striker running into space its always out wide.

QPR have been fantastic so far, well organised and set up to defend. Our intensity of play will catch up with them soon, and more spaces will emerge as they tier around the 60 min mark.

Our attackers look sharp with Rooney and RVP with scoring boots on, just need clear chances to fall their way, which they will. First goal will open the floodgates. We will get at least 3.

Fletcher and Scholes have been abit sloppy but generally OK, Welbeck and Young need to impress more. Maybe bring on Hernandez and Anderson if we are still without a goal after an hour.

Of course it's not been good by any stretch of the imagination. But it's not been nearly as bad as the usual muppets on here are making out. People just go overboard on the moaning here.

We're faced with a poor team who are doing a decent job at parking the bus so far. That's all. Hardly a crisis. We'll still win the game.

I'm sure we all believe we'll win, but this is the same problem as last season. Shite football, shite midfielders on the pith when we have better options on the bench, and settling for a 1 or 2-0.
I guarantee you that if we put Cleverley and Anderson on for fletcher and Scholes we would be infinitely times better. People say "we'll they haven't done much wrong". Since when has that been enough to play for Manchester fecking united? Cleverley and Anderson offer everything they do, and a lot more.

The problem for me is how sir Alex cannot see this. Last week we lose to Norwich by playing Carrick and giggs. Playing fletcher and Scholes is the same shit, different toilet type situation. Not better in any way.

Where's the tempo? Where's the urgancy? Where's the balls to say your better? Need to up the tempo. Take off fletcher for Anderson.

Overall, our play actually hasn't been that bad. But we're missing the final ball, which is what Young and Welbeck are supposed to be delivering.

Fletcher isn't ready for prime time, certainly not 90 minutes of it.

Changes will be made. Victory will be secured.

Interesting reading the comments against Fletcher, I actually thought he was the only one that had any desire to make things happen. Scholes is the one that keeps slowing way down.

Right at the end of the half - could see Welbeck pleading for movement and it was like no one was interested up front.

Problem is I think we start with being patient and we are simply not turning up the heat at any point - only when we go a goal down. If we start games with something to prove much like the Newcastle game - we might actually start winning games and then be able to be patient.

feck patience - play like we need a fecking goal, which we do.

agree. we are not breaking quick enough, hence why QPR are defending handy enough as they have time to cover.

We actually created some good chances despite playing awfully for most of the half.

Not we didn't. RvP's and Young's shots were from very tight angles. Rooney's shot was the only decent chance and that was a poor shot straight at the keeper. Been a quiet day for Cesar.

The midfield situation is clearly retarded, but it's worth noting that our movement up top hasn't been great either. Van Persie, Rooney and the wingers when they come into central areas do not really encourage play through the middle at the moment. They are more than capable of it but are often static when we need them to be more active.

I stopped watching. Mainly cos the streams I was watching on were bugging me and kept crashing/stuttering but also was getting slightly frustrated. THe couple times we broke through was when we played some quick one-two stuff or one touch passing. Any time a player of ours gets more than 2 touches around their area I feel like we we're just going to go back and start from the back.

They are the only team in the last 10 games who haven't been able to take advantage of our lackadaisical attitude through the middle. They are shitter than shit.

Also, for folks saying Scholes hasn't been bad - Yes, he hasn't give the ball away like a spaz but neither has he done anything to increase the tempo of the game or unlock QPR. If simple passes to the nearest player is the name of the game than there isn't a better team than us.

How often have we looked like doing anything by constantly going wide? Maybe if we got our technically gifted, one touch players on the pitch and close together we could make QPR chase the ball a bit and open them up with passing? Spain play against packed midfield's constantly and yet somehow manage to win a lot doing exactly what I'm suggesting. I've had enough of the old cliches of 'going wide' and 'stretching the pitch'. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Dortmund none of those teams play with tons of width but they would absolutely massacre QPR, Norwich and Villa.

Poor so far in every aspect and a poor game in general.

Not really sure what else we can do, no Valencia or Nani means we're lacking pace. The only way I can see us breaking on QPR is if we bring Anderson on. Ashley Young can't play football, so I'd probably replace him and play something more like this:

Lindegaard
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Fletcher
Scholes Anderson
Rooney
van Persie Welbeck

If we're still not winning after 10-15 minutes of playing this, then go for Hernandez over Welbeck as well and maybe Cleverley over Scholes (or Fletcher if we're well on top). So far QPR haven't really done anything wrong and they're organised, so it's going to be tough to break them down. If we can score early in the second half I think we'll go on to dominate and at least not concede ourselves.

Traore is looking world class since our width is shit and can't take him on. He was spanked and terrorized on that side of the field last year on the 8-2 losing Arsenal side.

To show that you have his back? It's a mental game too you know. I'm not having two guys trying to intimidate my teammate

I dunno, thought that was too much of a non issue of an incident really. A few words exchanged, nothing more.

Pretty much disagree with every single part of that post. From complaining about us "settling for 1 or 2-0" (which is masterful retardation) to "guaranteeing" that Cleverley and Anderson offer everything that Scholes (that's Paul Scholes, by the way, not just some two bit central midfielder) and Fletcher do and "a lot more". Ridiculous. Let's just forget this e-conversation ever happened.

135 minutes against Norwich and QPR without a single goal and only a handful of half chances. Unless we fall behind and have to chase the game our games are so boring at the moment. I don't think we've been horrendous and I think we'll score in the first 15 in the next half and win 2-0 but when are these midfield team selections going to end?

I reckon it will end up 2-0 to us..RVP and Rooney to score...

It's hardly surprising QPR have set up to draw. Harry is in the stands and every one of them needs to impress him since the Jan window is around the corner.

I doubt Fergie is sitting there particularly impressed. I think he has been scratching his head a bit this season one way or another.
