Is Fabio injured??

Rather have Zaha and Fabio on the bench than Buttner and Young.

Young, Nani and Januzaj on the bench. What exactly is the point of that? Is there no one else?

Glad to see Kagawa and Hernandez start. I hope Kagawa has a good game tonight I want him in the starting line up every week.

When our only other options are a Fellaini that looks lost at the minute and Anderson, can you blame Moyes playing Giggs?

Fellaini was bought in the summer for a crazy amount, and cannot get in the team ahead of a 40 year old. We will struggle to keep up with a quick, slick passing Spanish side with the line up I reckon. Sociedad play some decent stuff, and our midfield is just far too static.

What was the point in taking Nani off after 60 minutes, when he was playing well, for Giggs, if Giggs is starting and Nani isn't?

Bleh, feck it, it's still a strong enough line up to win, and win we should.

I would have preferred Kagawa behind Rooney to offset the midfield deficiencies but hey, let's see how it's goes I suppose. Might work?

Guessing it was to get some minutes into Giggs.

Giggs in center mid. fecking hell. We're all dying out to see Kagawa start a game, but when he finally does, he starts on the left of a 4-4-2 with a midfield of Carrick and Giggs  Undoubtedly we'll see Giggs last all 90 minutes now and see Kagawa come off when we inevitably lose control of the midfield and play like shit.
What on earth does Giggs have to do to make managers realize he isn't cut out for a midfield two, at ANY level of football? It's ridiculous he keeps getting starts, at the age of 40 there. Unbelievable.

At least Hernandez is starting I guess. No doubt the Kagawa haters will use this game as another stick to beat him with when he probably doesn't make a huge impact on the game because he's playing on the left of a 4-4-2.
Hope we manage to get something out of the game, but seeing that lineup does not fill me with confidence. Mostly because of Giggs next to Carrick.

Its times like these you realise just how unbelievably shit our midfield is.

Mid table quality.

I got a feeling Giggs will be awesome and Kagawa will be invisible....

I think Kagawa will be invisible too, although disagree on Giggs. Kagawa on the left of a 4-4-2 like we're playing tonight doesn't work. It just doesn't. Especially not when we're using a center mid that would struggle against any team in the Premier League, let alone a spanish team in the Champions league.

So if Kagawa is rubbish it's actually Giggs fault?

The situation with Fabio is a shame. He's not even second choice to his brother or Evra, when he should be deputising both.

Giggs in CM. Buttner for Fabio. I don't wanna watch this game anymore.

Not that I can, mind you, I'm at work...

No? It's because he's playing in a system not suited to him at all. He's not a traditional winger. He can play on the left in set ups like Dortmunds or Japan, where they roam around the field and the wingers go in field, not in a set up like today where our wingers are meant to stay wide and hug the touchline offering width. We'll almost definitely be overrun in midfield, as we always are when Carrick and Giggs play together and we have 2 strikers as well.

Are we ever going to play Kagawa in the hole? He doesn't even get a game when RVP is injured.
