Manchester United vs. Stoke City

Apparently Rio isn't wearing the KIO tee-shirt, or if he is it is not on show.

From BBC

Jason Roberts is on the bench for Reading today. He is warming up right now and appears to be the only one not wearing a Kick It Out t-shirt. At Old Trafford, Rio Ferdinand is the only Man Utd player not wearing the anti-racism organisation's shirt.

Its his choice.

No point pretending to show support for a cause the FA are promoting when he feels they dont follow up on it.

It's a an acceptable XI if Stoke give us too much respect, has weaknesses if show some bottle and enough intelligence.

Dunno about De Gea...

Time will tell i guess.

Could we possibly have a 4-2-2-2?

Valencia on one side with Rooney drifting in on the other with VP & Welbeck up top?

I think it'll be closer to this.

Rooney playing deeper in front of Carrick and Scholes while Welbeck plays as an inside forward on the left like he did at Sunderland to great effect. Van Persie leading the line with good supply from Valencia and Rooney behind him should work well.

I think that's a good shout. Could see this happening.

Think it's going to be our usual traditional 4-4-1-1/4-4-2.

I fully respect that decision from Rio.

He's got every right not to support a campaign he, and many others, feel is just the FA being see to be anti-racism when really they do feck all to actually back it up.

He has just totaly made what Fergie said yesterday look stupid.

Once again Rio puts himself into the headlines. I always say this, but things like this is why he was never made permanent captain.

He is a fool.

No one forced Fergie to say what he said yesterday. I'm sure he knew full well there was talk that Rio might not wear it. Rio's well within his rights here and there's nothing foolish about it.

Fergie is entitled to his opinion.
Rio can do what he wants.
It isnt some random thing.. If it means something to him, his decision shouldnt be changed just because Fergie has a different view.

I kinda agree. I can understand why other fans don't like him. Don't like his twitter feed as well.

not in bad way but agree with this.

Rio can do whatever he wants, stupid people complaining. Same for Roberts, don't agree one bit with Fergie's talk yesterday.

I just knew Young wouldn't make the bench after SAF said he was back fit.

Rio's a grown man with his own views - he can do whatever the feck he wants regarding this issue.

Kick It Out is a charitable organisation in part a victim of external factors. At a time when there was supposed to be a message of solidarity across the league we are instead witnessing something which can only go to undermine and overshadow that.

If players wanted to make a stand wear some anti-Uefa/Fifa/FA T-Shirts, at least pick a sensible target.

Randall, you're entitled to your opinion, but you're talking shite here. Rio's brother was racially abused by the England captain and Rio gets dropped from the squad as a result by the FA. Now you expect him to support the FA's bullshit anti-racism campaign?

Scholes - Carrick in the middle, Valencia on the wing, no Kagawa or Cleverley.... Back to the stale, non-fluid playstyle of the first games of the season then :wenger:..

Why, out of all games, do we choose to play with width against fecking Stoke?

Wearing anti FA shirts will get him charged.

Not wearing a Kick it out isnt in any way endorsing racism.. It'll only draw attention to FA's double standards when it comes to the issue of dealing with racism in the game.

I dont see how its bad in any way.. It gets his message across and it draws attention to an important point.

Doesn't have to be, if he plays Rooney deeper it could work well, though it will obviously be less fluid as there's less scope for interchange between the players.

Because we have a champions league game mid week and the side that is out there is plenty good enough to beat Stoke.
