He edited it, at first had Jones sitting behind the CM's.
Ah right, does editing now edit any quotes now too?

We'd get torn to shreds by any decent side.
Yup, I had clicked reply too, and by time the quite popped up, it was the edited version.Ah right, does editing now edit any quotes now too?
Lacks a good passer from the sitting two at the very least. Carrick and Fellaini behind front four like in 4-2-3-1 worked very well against Bayer at Old Trafford. I'm not sure how much we get from that, though.
Agreed but I don't think Mata or Adnan would be defensively disciplined enough. But in my eyes the main problem lies in the personnel in the 2 man midfield. It's not strong enough to play that way at the moment imo. Will change when we strengthen that area.....eventually.I don't know lemish. If the line of three turn into a 5 man midfield off the ball we might be alright.
That's why we can't play that way yet against the good sides, midfield 2 is too weak. Especially when our full backs are so attacking orientated, we need a real strong, high quality midfield 2. Which we don't have....yet.Yeah - stepping on the pitch with no back four and no keeper will generally do that to you.
Seriously, though - if Moyes wants to play 4-2-3-1 it's something like that we'll see, surely. Unless we actually buy an additional CM before the window closes. I'd have Mata left and Adnan right - but that front four looks tasty to me. And at the moment - do we have a combination that is considerably better than Fellaini/Fletcher? Can't quite see that.

Fletcher is a good passer. I think it's a very strong side personally. That front 4 is more than most could handle.
The thing a lot of people are missing is that when you have a front four like that you have fear factor again and teams won't set up to target our weaknesses anymore they will look to protect their own weaknesses.
Fellaini with his Everton form, and Fletch reaching further fitness and match fitness, and that's a fine setup.-----------------RVP-----------------
---Mata-------Rooney-------Januzaj---
--------Fellaini---------Fletch--------
Evra------CB--------CB---------Rafael
It's not that bad at all especially with Rooney who works his bollox off anyway, you could even bring in Young or Valencia (I know) to give it a bit more solidity and players willing to work back. Rooney will come deep and be the link to the front, you might even be able to trust Cleverley in there with Fletch to actually find a forward pass with Rooney and Mata creating movement in front.

I'd agree with you pretty much but I'd love to see it given a go.
Just cant see Fellaini being anything more than squad player come summer. As things stand hes 4th/5th best midfileder.
He is, I meant a truly top passer like Carrick. Any midfield duo lacking pace, dribbling ability etc needs a top passer of the ball to start creating things. We've almost had at least one top passer in a midfield two, let alone three. On the other hand Fletch is playing well to our delight and in the absence of Carrick he deserves to start.
I'd say Mata, Rooney and Januzaj are all excellent passers. Fellaini and Fletcher in that formation would have very little creative passing to do. They'd only have to find one of those three and considering the movement all three of them make, it won't be too hard.
Imaybe Moyes can turn him into a midfielder yet
You don't know that, Jim. We've barely seen enough of him to judge him imo. There were games where he looked like deserving the starting place alongside Carrick (Leverkusen H, Everton H, Sociedad A) but there have been bad ones as well with the worst being away at City.
I'd say 2 months of playing week in week out or close to that and we'll get a clear picture of his ability and strengths/weaknesses.
He's been a midfielder his entire career and a pretty good one at that. I think he can be a very good player for us, probably in an anchorman type role.
to be fair to him, i think he was good in the cameo he had in the Arsenal game.
I don't know if his confidence was down but Im fed up with his safe passing. Same applies to lack of movement, he is very static and i don't believe he has Pirlo or Scholes-esque passing.
Honestly, Im just lost because i see no use of him in a great team which Moyes wants to build. Would you play him in no10 role instead of Kagawa, Rooney, Januzaj, Mata, Giggs or even Young? Would you play him in the center of midfield at the expense of world class midfielders we are chasing?
I need to admit i was against buying him and I am negative about him. I can admit that but honestly even if try hard i can't bring myself to like his style. Even Young and Valencia have more value for me.

Jim I think you'll be proven very wrong with Fellaini he will be a superb midfielder for us. Added to his set piece ability he will prove to be a top quality addition.

He's reasonable at winning the ball isn't he? I always think of him as being able to tackle.
Its a bit of a common misconception from what I've seen. Sure he CAN win the ball back and put in a tackle from time to time as can pretty much any footballer, but its not his forte. He's reasonable at winning the ball isn't he? I always think of him as being able to tackle.
Can't tackle, is a complete pussy, has no awareness to track runners, doesn't have a passing range....and people want him to anchor our midfield. That'll be fun to watch.
That video alone proves pretty much everything you said isn't true.
