I am more excited about the uber deal
I can't imagine that any fee we'd get for him with one year left on his contract would be a whole lot more than what we pay him every year. Not enough to risk him being here for another whole year anyway.
Only thing that would save us is if a Chinese club throws money at him and United in the summer. Please Shanghai Shenhua, help us.

Is there anything to suggest that? Mourinho has trusted Fellaini over other players and said he wants the fans to 'love' him.Not going to pretend he's a great player or should be in the squad, sorry. Hopefully it's just so we can get a transfer fee.
it's been nearly 4 years alreadyHe signed a 4 year deal in 2013, so it would've expired this summer.

But that was only in the last month, wasn't it? Fellaini started the Community Shield.Mourinho said Scheniderlin wasn't available for selection from the minute he asked to leave, that was months ago. Schweinsteiger has been frozen out from the start which leaves Mensah who is very young and more of a defender than a midfielder.

I don't know. Jose clearly values him, maybe we all missing something here. Fair play to him.
He does have one of the best chest control in the world.
Mourinho understands pragmatism in football. Pep would live and die by his idealism.
4 years of torture endured. Time for him to be another club's problem.it's been nearly 4 years already![]()
He's scored 10 goals and assisted 4 in four years.. If a squad player that doesn't offer much and fills a role every now and again for 10 or so minutes is worth £90,000 a week in wages and a transfer fee of £28,000,000 then something is wrong. Mourinho is playing a stupid game by continuing with one of the few, if not ONLY United players to be largely disliked and often boo'd by the fans. There's nothing wrong with keeping him around for a while longer as a squad/sub player. He can offer a lot off the bench and he's more than capable of playing in dead rubber matches.
I quite like Fellaini to be honest. Obviously he's not the best footballer in the world and I wouldn't want him as an undisputed starter; but he's had loads of shit from united fans and he's always risen above it and put in plenty of important performances for us.
If we get back to the top he probably won't be good enough, but seeing as we need to buy at least one maybe two midfielders in the summer, getting rid of him right away could create discontinuity in the squad which we don't need.
I'm not really sure he was brought in for his goals, and I think there might be a bit more to football than judging players on how many goals they score. He's scored 10 goals and assisted 4 in four years.. No you don't judge a player on goals alone, but when a player who plays behind the main attacker barely gets into double figures after four years there's an issue.I'm not really sure he was brought in for his goals, and I think there might be a bit more to football than judging players on how many goals they score.
Mourinho seems to disagree that he doesn't offer much, you need a player that can add height towards the end of a match especially in a Mourinho team. I just don't see the point in getting rid of him to get someone in who would be largely similar.
He's disliked on here, but I always think the Caf can't represent all united fans really since there is so many and so relatively few on here. He's not often boo'd either really, he was boo'd by a selection of fans after the Everton match but that's it.
Of course, nobody is going to buy a player like Fellaini, even for say, £10 million, are they. Yup it is easy when there are so many daft comments about.OR the alternative being that nobody buys him. Then we are paying him for another year to the tune of £80,000 a week. United don't then want to offer a fresh contract and he leaves on a free in 2018. Who needs money anyway?
Sarcasm is easy clever clogs.
How many times has Fellaini played behind the striker?! He usually plays in midfield if not quite deep in midfield. No you don't judge a player on goals alone, but when a player who plays behind the main attacker barely gets into double figures after four years there's an issue.
My point still stands, we're paying £90,000 a week and limiting the chances of much more talented and younger players simply because he's tall.. It's not like his height helps, he BARELY wins an aerial duel, uses his elbows more than his feet/head, gives away stupid fouls & is far too immobile to be expected to close anybody down. The amount of times teams just run through us when he's expected to be the man in front of defence is inexcusable and the same applies when he's the man who's expected to play behind the striker, things just go wrong.
It's easy for Mourinho to expect us to like him, he hasn't had to deal with him and his lousy play/mistakes for 4 years and he doesn't see Fellaini as a constant reminder of the abhorrent decisions made in the years after Sir Alex left.
I also fail to see the need in his height people keep banging on about when you look at our current team, we have plenty of options that are much better at defending a lead.
If we get £10,000.000 for him that will only equate to an actual profit of like 2-3m as opposed to just releasing him when you take everything into account. We'll pay him around 5 million in wages just to be useless for a year. Makes zero sense whatsoever and points to Jose actually liking him for some unknown reason.

Which players offer what Fellaini does that aren't getting a match? As I said Mourinho likes a defensive tall player to bring on late in the match, and Fellaini suits that role well. There is nobody else at United who could fulfill that role so if he did leave we would replace him with somebody so similar it would be a pointless exercise.
Saying things like he uses his elbows more than his head and feet shows that you're not thinking about this sensibly really.
All in all he's a decent option off the bench, people like yourself will never like him which in the grand scheme of things makes no difference whatsoever.
This is all well and good for the most part until you look at what can happen when you bring him in to close out a match i.e. give away a penalty after being on for less than two minutes and cost us two points.

Wow, 4 years of Fellaini at United.
Hes done well from his point of view.

outlasted Di maria, Falcao, Schneiderlin and Valdes!
His inspirations probably were Mignolet skrtel and Lucas.
Hey, who am I to judge, maybe he has his uses.
Lucas and Skrtel were great in their prime. Mignolet.... how many years has it been? 2?
That was one game. Clearly Jose doesn't base his opinions on one or two games.
