MERGED: Rooney signs new contract!

Hope he leaves in the summer, I can never cheer his name again.

Maybe time will mellow my attitude, but I hope not.

Think about Ferdinand Hectic, do you still hate him? It will pass. It's important to remember Rooney has lost his form, had a terrible world cup, potentially lost his wife, he's not the brightest spark either so he has made a terrible, terrible feck-up but eventually it'll be Rooney's silly saga episode.

Very much doubt that.

When has Fergie ever gone this far to ensure one player stays? In the past, anybody who has kicked up a fuss anything remotely like this has gone. No questions asked.

Despite everything, Fergie quite clearly still believes Rooney is the man to build his team around.

Yep.

Id say all this talk of signing him just to get a bigger fee in the summer is pure bollocks. Fergie never did that before and why would Rooney agree to that therfore limiting his options next summer and his earning potential at future clubs.

Some serious statements will have to be made in the very near future to appease the fans!!

Yeah, looking at him smiling for the camera.

How dare he be happy after signing a 5 year contract with the greatest football club in the world.

Smug twat.

And with that, I leave this thread for what it is. Some right cretins on here. Shameful.

He is smug. Smug that he now knows he's got one over on the club.

After.all he said, I'm not just going to roll over and wank that he's signed a new contract like some are.

Excuse me for having my own opinions on this.

HE'S SHIT
HE'S OVER-RATED
WE DONT NEED HIM
WE DONT WANT HIM
HE CAN feck OFF
YOU WILL NEVER PLAY AGAIN

That was 2 days ago.

Now look.. He's the patron saint of Manchester.

makes me sick.

Fred in reading only what he want's to hear shocker.

How about all these Fred, I got bored quoting them in the end cause there was so many:

Holy feck is all I can say to all this ... He's still a prick all the same

So, you basically tell your current girlfriend that she's not good enough. Several others waiting in line for you with big baps. Your current one gets a boob job and you take her back?!

Sometimes you only realise what you've got when it's (almost) gone.

He's such a prick. He better start turn around his form very soon.

I'll stand by what I said, I won't be cheering him on.

I still think the fans should boo him when he next plays.

This can't be forgotten right away.

If he doesnt' fire Stretford my views towards him remain the same.

He can get to feck. I don't want him anymore. I won't be cheering his name again. Classless fecker, grovel all you want, twat.

Win the fans trust over again? Having a laugh? You'll need a 100 goal season to do that, pft.

It's going to take a lot for him to get back to how he was in my eyes. The worst I said about him during this was that he was being a complete twat. He's still a complete twat for doing this.

I agree, now all is forgiven and forgotten. He's a complete prick and its good that he's finally shown himself for what he really is. Mind you the fans will forget about it all soon.

He is still a cnut, no doubt. He has gone down hugely in my estimations.

But, he's signed a new contract. He's still a United player and will be for a while (well, at least till the summer).

cnut off the pitch, United player on the pitch.

He's still an utter, utter cnut. Rooney should be thoroughly ashamed of himself. I hope the fans give him the just reaction for offending and disrespecting the club, the shirt & most of all the fans.

He needs to start grovelling.

Once a greedy scouse liar always a greedy scouse liar.

Congratulations Wayne, you thick cnut.

Maybe after the World Cup he realised he gets turned on by being booed and needs that again to keep him from cheating on Colleen?

stick him in the reserves for 5 years....

but seriously - Rooney was a prick and a misguided one at that

maybe he's looking at steven gerrard - wins the CL but puts in the transfer request

after fan protests etc.. he gives in and signs a new 5 year

since then he's achieved nothing

he needs to earn our respect again but the club owes it to the fans to try and ensure that we do all we can to compete

I'm still shocked by this. What a prat.

5 goals a game now at least. Selfish twat

Completely shocked by this. I still harness the same feelings as I did when I thought he was pretty much off, that he's been a complete disgrace. The lad needs to show some serious form and commitment to go back up in my estimates, and I can't see things ever being the same way again.

The greedy little cnut has signed his conract

He was a cnut as well.

Can't believe this.

Is there a chance he'll be sold over summer? feck me if he doesn't have a whole lot of making-up to do..... This has a bit of Stevie G/Chav feel about it.

My view of him has been permanently tainted.

He's no longer the leader of our team for me.

feck him. He's dead to me now!

I'll hope he does well. But I will never idolize him the way I did before.

Ronaldo signed his last contrat with Manchester Utd in 2007 not a year before leaving

He is smug. Smug that he now knows he's got one over on the club.

After.all he said, I'm not just going to roll over and wank that he's signed a new contract like some are.

Excuse me for having my own opinions on this.

Exactly Sw33t

I was shocked, disappointed and angry at him wanting to leave. This u-turn is great news! It'll take a few big performances before we forgive him, but we will. Like we did with Ronaldo.

Key part of he statement for me, very carefully worded:-

"I'm sure the fans over the last week have felt let down by what they've read and seen. But my position was from concern over the future. The fans have been brilliant with me since I arrived and it's up to me through my performances to win them over again."

No matter what he says he will never win me over. He said he wanted to leave BEFORE any money was ever discussed. So what's changed to make him even look at an offer? I can never believe he is committed to this club again.

Interesting split in opinion here.

Seems a clear division on those 'over the moon' that we've just signed our best player on a new 5 year contract and those that are genuinely disgusted that we haven't told him to sling his hook.

Or to look at it another way - those with intergrity and those with no concept of the word.

Hmmmmmm.....

Wayne Rooney Rooney
He kisses the badge on his chest
He hands in a transfer request
And he fecks grannies

Spammy at the minute most obviously resembles that GIF of Michael Jackson eating pop-corn. No doubt about that.

I think he's a lying little scouse sumbag that has treated the club like shit, but after what SAF said in the press I highly doubt that he then decided to offer Rooney marquee signings and the like...

Exactly. The promises wont be about our grand ambitions, he'll already have been told what Fergie said in the press conferance and we arent going to change it all for Rooney.

Rooney will have been given promises personal to him and his future. Some extra pocket money until he leaves will be one of them, his destination and an agreed fee might be others.

The fact that reporters are stating the #MCFC are furious pretty much shows he must have had a deal with them. Theres no way he would have said he was leaving without having another club already lined up.

As long as he doesn't got to City or Chelsea, I'm fine. He could feck off to Madrid or Milan for all I care.

Not me -- I remember how cnutish Keano, Becks, esp Rio and now Rooney behaved. Keano was disappointing considering he was club captain and Rio for the way the club backed him despite his drug suspension. Now Rooney.

They left a bad taste in my mouth ever since. You respect them as players but there is that level of love that you would have for a Scholes, Neville or Giggs.

You're just naive. Players don't love your club like you do. In the end, as long as they can do a job on the pitch, that's all that matters. I gave up player worship 20 years ago.

I know AdZ, my heads probably not right at the moment. All over the place.

Not feeling good at all.

I'll have to sit out from football and the football forum for awhile. Some people will think I'm overreacting but it's getting harder to identify with the game that I used to love so much.

One week ago, Wayne was our hero and one of the dying breed of players who we think plays the game for the love of the game. Fast forward to the present and we all know he's a greedy bastard who insulted what the club stood for in an attempt to get more money.

And the worst part? He succeeded.

Players can hold clubs to ransom as long as it's financially beneficial to the club in the long run, but where does this leaves us fans? If the game weren't so fecking commercialised and dependant on success, Rooney would have had got what he really deserved, a big fine and a long suspension from the first team. That and a few punches from the team mates he slated.

To those of you comparing this to Gerrard, you are wrong - Rooney has not put in any sort of transfer request like Stevie G did.

To those of you claiming this is like Ronaldo - get a grip. You don't sign a 5 year extension for nothing. Fergie would not be saying the things he has just said if this was a plan to get rid of Rooney in the summer. He is staying, deal with it.

To those of you moaning, look at it like this, Rooney is a brilliant player, both on and off the pitch. United are a massive winner in all of this.

Lets wait and see what Rooney's new contract is. I have a feeling it won't be that extravagant when you compare it to the ones City hand out. This could be the wake up call the Glazers and Gill need.

I understand people are frustrated, I too myself have been in shock over all this, but lets see how it pans out before we murder the young lad.

Every player who wears the red of United has my support, and Wayne Rooney will be no different. I look forward on what he has to say himself in person.

Im horribly conflicted, on one hand im happy that Rooney is staying cos hes brilliant and it shows we might actually start to add a few decent players to the squad.
On the other hand hes a prick for using Fans in such a way to push through more $$
i think ill be saying Boourns though rather than boo

180,000 Pounds a week is his wage, according to Daniel Taylor.

On french (and even british )TV after his CL match he was asked if he was interested in signing Mourinho he said 'of course, who wouldn't be ?'.He also said he believed it was a stunt from Rooney's people to get him a more lucrative contract, he said that with a smirk like he perfectly knew what was going on.He really did

Here is the vid, it's on the live french TV that he talked about the bigger wages

He aint just the special one now -- he will also be known as the Oracle. Plus he likes United. He will be our next manager.

Well, I have to say I'm surprised at this. I thought for sure he was a goner, especially after that statement.

I don't know what way to feel TBH. On the one hand, I'm still a defiant bitch and very angry at him and right now wouldn't care if he went. On the otherhand, I want the best players at United and he is one of the best players in the world. It won't be made easy for him, not by a long shot. He has a lot of making up to do, to a hell of a lot of people. The reaction he gets will certainly be interesting, I'm of the belief that booing doesn't help. I understand why folk do it, but I don't believe it helps.

I certainly won't be going crazy for him, I won't sing his name anytime soon but at the end of the day, I support every player who wears the United shirt and what else can we do but support him now?

I'll have to sit out from football and the football forum for awhile. Some people will think I'm overreacting but it's getting harder to identify with the game that I used to love so much.

I can empathise there.

I'm disgusted with Rooney I really am, I would've preferred to see him shipped off to Italy, however I strongly disagree with anyone who thinks that Rooney is the winner here, surely SAF is the winner? He performance over the past few days has been sensational.

Once we hopefully hear the true figures we'll see, but like everyone else I'll be devastated if we have given in.

It all started when Rooney was
Then Fergie was -
Then the Caf was -
Then Rooney supposedly saw City and was all - :D
Then Fergie was at the press conference all - :(
But secretly Fergie was -
The Caf meanwhile was a mixture of - :wenger: and
City were all -
Now I'm - at City

The fact that it was even a possiblility for him going to City (which it was) still makes it pretty much unforgivable and worrying. So Im still very much

And Rooney is still a wank stain in my eyes. Club has been held to ransom.

BenHibbs Rooney doing interview with MUTV shortly. Sitting in on it. On air and on ManUtd.com at 6.30pm BST #mufc

Can't wait to hear this
