Mesut Özil

2 assists, and he hardly broke sweat. I can't wait to see him link up with Santi.

Can't help but feel a top class attacker is required to make the most of Mesut, though. Giroud tries and has improved massively, but he's not going to be banging in 30 goals a season.

That, along with your usual suicidal performances in some big matches, will be your undoing this season. You'll go close to challenge all the way but will end up on third or fourth. Could even snatch second if what we've seen of Mou at Chelsea v2 is going to continue. Should be comfortably inside the CL places.

You've improved a lot though. I said before the season I expected us to finish third behind City and Chelsea. Now I'm starting to doubt whether we'll finish ahead of you.

I'm concerned about how hard the Champions League will hit us. Even today you could see the legs in midfield went at the end. When all are fit we have enough depth there to cover, but it's a long road.

We need Arteta, Podolski, Chamberlain and Cazorla back so we can rotate.

Meanwhile Ozil is just brilliant.

Ozil seems to have gotten off to a flying start. Almost as if he's been an Arsenal player for years. Whats up with the other four, are they injured ?

He does look like he's been part of the side for years now, but our style of play does suit him so it helps.

Yeah, all four were/are injured. I think Podolski, Cazorla and the Ox are due back in early/mid October which means we have to push on until they're back.

Ozil in being world class shocker. Even at 40+ million he was always going to be worth it.

You'll have quite a scary midfield and attack once Cazorla gets back.
Giroud
Cazorla Ozil Wilshere
Ramsey Flamini
With Cazorla, Ozil and Wilshere rotating. Up there with any team in the prem that. Ozil really does lift the whole team and just make everyone play better. Ramsey and Wilshere in particular have been class for you guys this season.

I agree, Ozil definitely creates more space for Ramsey and Wilshere by simply being on the pitch. I expect this will increase with Cazorla coming back into the side too. Though I think Walcott will play as we need someone direct and someone that can make runs that Ozil and Cazorla can look for.

It will be interesting to see where Wilshere is played once Cazorla is back.

Ramsey and Giroud were absolutely fecked at the final whistle. Giroud is the big worry since we have no cover for him.

No chance Theo will be shifted upfront, either to rest Giroud etc?

Walcott's been keen to play upfront and with the type of service Ozil/Carzola can provide (no crossing/hoofing etc), he might be excellent off the shoulder of the last man. Though he won't get as much space as he would out wide, I can still see him thriving.

I'd rather we tried Podolski, effective and smarter on the counter and better finisher. He's not had much luck down the middle thus far, but our counter attacking style might suit him more than the way were playing with Arteta and Santi down the middle last season.

In terms of playing style yeah without a doubt but to see physically that Arsenal kit still feels weird to me. It's like Bale with Real Madrid but for different reasons.

I don't know how reliable Bleacher Report is - but apparently Ozil was never offered to United, and now Ozil's father is on the war path and is going to sue the 'fake agent' who forged his signature in order to initiate talks.

not reliable at all

Talks with Arsenal? As in he didnt want to go to the emirates?

No, I meant he wasn't offered to United early in the window - and his signature was supposedly forged in order to initiate talks with United.

By the reactions I take it Bleacher Report is akin to Tribalbollox?

I've only downloaded the app recently so I wasn't aware of the site or its reputation.

 Yep, another laughing smiley suggests to me it holds as much weight as Tribalbollox.

Maybe his father will sue the site for fabricating quotes from him.

There were direct quotes of Özil's father in the German media about that. Not sure where they originated, but as far as I know he stated that someone forged his signature to create that fake contact to United. I don't know if he's telling the truth, but those quotes exist.

The story (in Spain) goes that Ozil's dad gave at least 7 go-between agents permission to go out and start selling his son. This was back in July.

Ozil's dad is now denying this because he'd prefer the story to be that his son was forced out by Madrid and he'd rather not pay the middle men - or alternatively, because he really didn't start a sales campaign. Ozil's dad announced a couple of weeks ago he was going to denounce (take legal action) against these middle men, but the denuncias haven't yet appeared.

Only time I've come across Bleacher Report is when I stumbled across an article that ranked the top 100 Premiership player. Nemanja Vidic did not make the list.

Haha... Had he been playing though or was this during the period he had out? Only possible excuse I could think of for that oversight.

It was during pre-season after his fantastic return to form last year. The guy was going full on retard with that article.

World-class can be attritibuted to Ozil. He has really transformed a distinctly average team.

Quality, quality player. Weird to think some people were arguing that Kagawa is as good as him during the summer.
