Best player on the pitch again.
Thought he was good today, disciplined and intelligent

I hope you're only talking about Arsenal players.
Because Sterling and Gerrard were far better.
Does anyone actually watch Ozil play football here?
It's so baffling. Top class today, MOTM with Chamberlain close behind.
He wasn't though, thats not what a top class performance is.
He kept the ball well, did the basics, but there were a couple players out there better than him today, Gerrard and Sterling for one undoubtedly, Chamberlain was excellent as well.
I'm not quite sure you can claim that three-yellow card Gerrard(it rhymes for a reason) outshone him today.
He's so classy on the ball, and amazingly, when given the opportunity to thread some through balls, he's exceptional at it. A real piece de resistance of a player.
Gerrard, Sterling and Ox were better. Ozil was excellent too, one of his better games for Arsenal in a big game.

Ozil didn't have his best day. Gerrard was lucky not get sent off again, he is a a cnut of a player, but seemingly a darling of the FA despite constantly disappointing with the national team. Unfortunately I think I'll be watching the drivel he serves up in an England shirt in Brazil.
Yeah but you probably watched the whole game properly. You have to realise that most people on here watch fragments of matches while wanking about on facebook/twitter/snapchat.I thought he was excellent to be honest. His engine seemed to run for longer today too, worked very hard. Very good use of the ball
probably not far from the truthYeah but you probably watched the whole game properly. You have to realise that most people on here watch fragments of matches while wanking about on facebook/twitter/snapchat.

Well every fecking match a United supporter bumps this thread to talk about how disappointing he was and how they knew he wasn't the right player for United or Arsenal and why didn't Arsene sign a striker not a big game player sook no engine no wonder Madrid let him go...I'm absolutely loving how the Arse fans, well especially pete and alastair on here to be fair, are trying to force down everyone's throats something that they have the impression of seeing. And keep coming up with big statements like Özil has invented football or something and is a 'pièce de résistance' and so on, it's just funny. He was good, but he wasn't the best player on the pitch, he wasn't even the best Arsenal player (I thought Oxlade was excellent, and Fabianski arguably had a better match for you guys today). No, it's not people that don't know anything about football or can't appreciate the bouchée à la reine de foie gras de sacrebleu au camembert that is Özil who come up with this, and I'd argue that people who thought he was the best today had probably made their mind up on that before a ball had been kicked.
If it's bumped every game, I can understand why that might annoy you. When it's bumped after a 'big game' where he's been unimpressive, I think it's fairly understandable; and the other way round works as well (people admitting he was good yesterday). Plus you have to factor in this is an opposition forum, so a lot of people are going to have that kind of approach. However, I think it's unfair to say Özil just gets criticized on here, I seem to remember people rating him very highly at the beginning of the season, but having doubts about his ability to carry that form throughout the season (doubts which have been vindicated, you'll have to admit).Well every fecking match a United supporter bumps this thread to talk about how disappointing he was and how they knew he wasn't the right player for United or Arsenal and why didn't Arsene sign a striker not a big game player sook no engine no wonder Madrid let him go...
My view is he's been good, not great, in his first season in a new league with a striker in front of him who isn't ideal for his style. He can definitely do a lot better and sometimes his effort is lacking but he's still a world class player, which is why he can be in second gear and still be effective. The last few weeks he's put in good performances against Southampton, United and Liverpool so hopefully things are going to turn around for him and the team, because frankly some of our other players have been more disappointing recently.
The reaction to him on this forum has been silly and unfair. And not necessarily just from United supporters.
Arsenal have been disappointing in big games. And Ozil isn't a 'grab the game by the scruff of the neck" player, so it follows that he will be quiet if the team loses control of a match. The high profile games have possibly dimmed people's views on him....Let's face it, no one, outside of Arsenal, gives a toss how he does against the likes of West Brom or Fulham etc
Another big game bottle job so far...
Soft and offside.......apart from winning the penalty.
Soft and offside...
It is nowYou're soft for claiming a player has bottled a game and the first half isn't even over.
Soft and offside...
For £42m you want him to be dominating games like this. Or at least putting his stamp on it but he's just not looking committed or anytihng.
His nonchalance while walking up to take the penalty was very Phil Jonesque. The quality wasn't much different either.
Both of these penalties were poor, but the technique was there. Jones was on another planet.
