That was a perfect placed ball.
As was the ball into Danny in the first half
That was a perfect placed ball.
Nani gets spotted out on his missed balls/shots more than others because of his old reputation as a player.
Look at Rooney and his mental fecking chips at times though, and his through balls can be wayward (not yesterday though, wow). Valencia too very much struggles to beat his man at times and ends up smacking his cross into them.
But attacking players generally have to have those moments at times because they are required to produce the end game for the team, and they won't do that by playing it safe all the time.
It's not the most controversial thing in the world to point out that Nani's final ball was a bit lacking yesterday. or at least it shouldn't be.
Valencia was definitely more effective with his final balls yesterday.
I dunno, I think we say that because we scored from Valencia. Had Rooney put away the ball Nani slid across to him in the first half or had Welbeck or Giggs done a better job in a couple of positions then I think we'd be saying Nani was effective with his final balls too.
My only real point is, the final ball often has a lot to do with what you teammates make of it.
Am I the only one who thought that Nani was very unselfish yesterday? Two or three occasions, I remember where I was expecting him to go for goal but he instead went for passing.

Nah, it was noticeable before then. I remember because when everyone was losing hope in him because of his poor form in the first half of the 09/10 season, I kept maintaining I wanted to see him given a good run of games on the right before I wrote him off, but that I was losing hope he would get that run. It's a theory that was thrown around because he started to turn into the player he is now when SAF started playing him on the right instead of the left, like in that mammoth game against Arsenal where he pushed Valencia out of the team.
It's very debatable who our 2nd best winger is.Playing in more of a free role from the left is the future for Nani I believe.
It's also the best way to get both of our best wingers playing at the same time.
Yup, but on current form it's an easy choice. It's great for us to have Nani who can play on either side which gives us the option to play the other winger in his best position when in form, whoever that may be.It's very debatable who our 2nd best winger is.

He produced this wonderful bit of skill where the flicked the ball over his head and down the flank. Was lovely![]()
Valencia did that in the 2nd half too, are you thinking of that one maybe?
Nani had a great sort of back-hell behind and around a defender who had him cornered on the left touchline in the 2nd
Nani's such a joy to watch. I was going to say I hope more neutrals start giving Nani the recognition he deserves in 2012, to me he's one of the best players in the league easily... but then I thought if people outside United want to ignore how good he is it can only be good for us!
lol, when that happened I smiled at just how good Nani is...then realised it was Valencia and I was rather stunned. Don't expect things like that from himValencia did that in the 2nd half too, are you thinking of that one maybe?
It's giggs-beckham, right?Someone in the MOTD thread gave Lindegaard MOTM.... we fecking won 5-0
He's our best player right now arguably. Definitely the most productive. Could have had 5 assists today.
8 goals and 10 assists so far this season (in 25 appearances).
Any way to find out his stats this time around last season?
