That puts him into the top 5 most expensive transfers ever, right?

Oh well, that'll stop me getting confused between Carroll and Gutierrez when the barcodes are on tv.
No way in hell is he worth £35m
Bloody hell![]()

Hmmm.... Liverpool spending more on a single player than we ever have eh? Surely not.
Darren Bent, a proven PL goalscorer went for £18 million.![]()
This day is just nonsense, nonsense i say!
The Guardian and Telegraph are both reporting that Liverpool have met Newcastle's valuation for striker Andy Carroll.

We have been well and truly had.
Fall through for the love of God fall through.
Good player but again that is just pissing money away.
Holy shit. Guess the scousers can't complain about not spending money anymore.
karlsentk west ham were offered andy carroll for £1 million in the summer of 2009, but steve clarke didn't rate him (from dead cert source)

I would laugh at this. But given the situation, I'm not complaining of your predicament.in fairness, it's not like it's costing the owners anything to spend 35m on Carroll when you just sold Torres for 50m.
Let's not stop the craziness with Carroll though. I'm sure there must be a wide player out there we can bring in too by paying vastly over the odds.
Suarez, Carroll, Adam + wide player would actually leave me a bit excited even with the loss of Torres. Damn the fees.
I now know what it's like to be a city or Chelsea fan. This is fun.
British players are unbelievably overpriced. Carroll is young and has a lot of potential but he's worth much less than that. Liverpool must be really desperate to make up for losing Torres.
Good work Steve.
Ronaldo, Kaka, Zidane, Figo, Andy Carroll... how those names ring out through the halls of history
