British players are unbelievably overpriced. Carroll is young and has a lot of potential but he's worth much less than that. Liverpool must be really desperate to make up for losing Torres.The only explanation is that Comolli is drunk in his office.
karlsentk west ham were offered andy carroll for £1 million in the summer of 2009, but steve clarke didn't rate him (from dead cert source)

in fairness, it's not like it's costing the owners anything to spend 35m on Carroll when you just sold Torres for 50m.
