Newcastle United v Manchester United

Welbeck on the wing is pretty shite as he'll just drift inside to an already congested area. At least Valencia is back on the bench. I kinda hope Nani has a knock cos it's baffling otherwise.

I'd be inclined to agree, but if we do have Nani, Kag and Rooney, I reckon the midfield would have enough support. As would RVP.

It'll make for very interesting viewing. I imagine that on paper, that is many people's strongest front four.

Never mind. Eurosport couldn't be much further off.

Switch Valencia for Welbeck and that's the strongest team we could put out at the moment for me.

A very narrow team. Would like to have seen Anderson instead of carrick and nani over welbeck.

So....

De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Carrick
Cleverley Kagawa
Rooney
Welbeck Van Persie

or

De Gea
Rafael Ferdinand Evans Evra
Carrick Cleverley
Welbeck Rooney Kagawa
Van Persie

De Gea,
Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra,
Carrick, Cleverley,
Kagawa,
Welbeck, Van Persie Rooney,

Good team, plenty of strength, guile and pace.

Valencia rushed back from injury to sit on bench?:nervous:

first game back from injury, probe best to get him on for last 30 mins.

Rooney's going to have to do more leg work with that midfield than attacking with RVP, at least and until we can get to grips with the match.

So is Lindegaard dropped back to the bench permanently now?

Let's see if we've learnt anything from last season's encounter.

Good line up! Pleased to see de Gea starting, as he should.

MUTV:

De Gea

Ferdinand
Evans
Evra
Carrick
Cleverley
Welbeck
Rooney
Kagawa
Van Persie

Welbeck on the wing :( but I guess we didn't have much of a choice if he's decided to drop Nani.
Carrick and Clevs don't go well together, they'll struggle against Tiote and Cabaye. But that Newcastle defence is a bit shit, so there's hope.

With Newcastle's defence, it'll be quite embarrassing if we fail to create like we did last year.

Think the Cleverley-Kagawa-Welbeck link-up could be a joy to watch
Well I hope it will be

I hope that line-up rapes Newcaslte as much as it did my entry into the line-up game

Hope Nani is an injury (well, you know what I mean).

4-3-3. Rooney welbeck and van persie exchanging positions. 3 in the middle

Good lineup. Would love to see Buttner starting again especially if we're not playing with wingers.

They've hardly played together

They are decent but noway near world-class. We have to beat minefields like that if we are going to be contenders this year.

The first one would be suicidal. No width with Kagawa playing in midfield.

I imagine it'll be the second one, with the 3/4 line being switched up.

Oh absolutely. I certainly wouldn't start him today. I'm just saying of the available players that's as strong as we could be.

Cafe as got what it wanted .If this goes tits up , won't have much to blame.

That's just crazy. Every time we look like having a good side out there it's a decision like that which baffles me.

Nani has been shocking of late. But I still don't like the decision to drop him completely. I would persist with Nani because we know that he will eventually hit great form.

Tbf we only saw them in one game together, there's no reason they shouldn't be able to work well.

I'm hoping Nani hasn't been dropped but has a knock, would be harsh to drop him considering he scored and was decent against Spurs, he was on the bench in midweek I think so doesn't really make sense to just drop him now unless something's happened inbetween.

Last season we dominated the ball with Carrick and Giggs, we just got done aerially so hopefully we can improve on that.

No buttner on the bench seems odd for me, we hardly need Scholes, Giggs and ando on the bench, esp if Valencia is there.

Not too sure about Cleverley and Carrick together, though I'm excited to see Rooney, RvP and Kagawa start together

Good to see De Gea starting again, now I hope he stays there.

No he hasn't. He was one of our best players against Spurs.
