Neymar Jr | PSG | 2017/2018 performances

 at the amount of people tune in for PSG game now. I only watched Ligue 1 higher profile game, beside when there was nothing to watch ( first week when PL didn't).

Pretty much give more evidence that Neymar can pull in some curious eyes in the discussion whether Neymar brand would help increase PSG commercial profile, revenue.

Going by highlight, Neymar seems like not breaking a sweat.
He will because for instance, he has much more followers on his social media than the whole club itself.

I didn't watch it but it sounds like it's shooty in over there. The thing is no matter how well he plays, whether "dazzled" or whatever and how ever many goals he scores, will it really be valued outside France? Will he be any closer to the Ballon d'Or? I'm not so sure, but time will tell I guess.

CL (and maybe WC next year) will make him closer to the Ballon d'Or or not but it in the mean if he can help his club win the league back again, he will.

Yeah the PL is very much overrated. Monaco shits on any team in our league. So do Athletico.
At the moments the PL has an issue where the top teams aren't quite as competitive as they were a few years back, but I feel this might change over the next 2-3 years. The whole league has gotten very competitive however, I'd say the general level is much tighter than in most top leagues. Also Monaco wouldn't "shit on any team in the PL", especially after having lost quite a few players this summer. They're a very good team, but they're not miles ahead of everyone else. And I think they'll struggle this year.
I asked myself, "Are they cousins or something?". I have never seen him celebrate like that.
It was obviously pre-planned for anyone who would score first. It was pretty cringe as Neymar has no real relation with Matuidi and doesn't care about PSG. The whole rolling out Matuidi in front of the crowd for hugs with his teammates before kick off was also pretty ridiculous.
Enough with the stupid "ligue 1 is a joke" statement
it's the 4th league in the world and a lot of futur cracks are playing in it without doubt, but you just notice it afterwards when mendy bakayoko and ngolo kanté sign in PL clubs
stop being so complacent
It's actually fifth and yes there are a lot of very good players in L1, I doubt anyone would deny that. That doesn't mean you can't point out it's not a great league overall.
That fecking corner and goal from Kurzawa though.
Best moment of the match (with Pastore's goal) for me. Neymar's second goal was really lucky, with TFC players keeping the ball in play for him twice in the process of him dribbling them (even though he showed some great technique).
I believe without a doubt, that Neymar would have performed like that at Barca if he was the main man, just like he would have performed like in the PL being the main man of any club.
People using this as an excuse to disrespect the french league are incredibly bitter that a talent like Neymar is in France and not in another country.
I don't know if it's bitterness, but I do think that most of his domestic achievements will now be downgraded somewhat (compared to if he'd done it in Spain), and the true measure of his success will be the CL. And rightly so, imo.

I agree that he would've done it anywhere else, he's a truly fantastic world class player, but TFC were absolutely awful yesterday and I think a lot of teams will go to the Parc and play like them yesterday.
Love the psg fans shouting the goalscorers at sync. What's up with fans in England? Such dull atmospheres compared to league in France, Germany, Italy & Spain
Atmospheres globally in France are poor. A few stadiums are ok, like the Vélodrome or Geoffroy Guichard, and the Parc is awesome on nights like these, but it's not always the case, it was a special occasion (Neymar's first game there). Atmosphere can be very tame more often than not.

Wow  Didn't watch the actual games did you? Only one in which neymar was better than Messi, maybe, was the final, and it was down to Juve doubling down on messi(who still ended up creating barca's first two goals) and leaving neymar free...

All great stuff but:
I thought Neymar had a better year and his contributions in the CL that year were bigger than Messi.

Yep, cos thats how it works :)
Yes, cos it's clear to everyone who actually watched those games, and barcelona in general. Neymar was the least of MSN in 14/15. It's in 15/16 that he truly kicked on and become a top 3 player in the world

But hey, i guess Mandzukic and Gomez were better than Ribery and contributed more in CL for bayern in 12/13

Shit league, while rivals being weak, PSG is getting stronger.

Monaco, Lyon, Marseille with their squad will have no change against PSG.

So, unless, Neymar can bring the CL to Paris, his achievement at Ligue 1 and his mega transfer will be nothing.

Well people keep looking at Messi. IMO Neymar is better... at least now. Ball control is syblime at times. He would demolish the EPL too. He's better than Luís Figo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho.

If he were to go to Man City, for example, he would bring that effect that Cristiano Ronaldo brought to Man United.

Edit: One of the goals he scores... the way he somehow gets past two defenders.... the ball control.... he's twisting fast & the ball control was pure art. He's clearly the best attacking midflieder in the world at the moment. He got better.
wtf is this

Wait, that video of him putting a flat, pinpoint cross to a player who then scores via bicycle kick was actually a true, legit goal rather than some FIFA 17 video?

Growing to become possibly the best player ever in one of the top 5 European leagues and likely the best ever player at PSG will not be a negligible feat. He could become a legend there, someone fans will tell their kids about in 20-30 years, and it's not unthinkable PSG will become one of top 5 teams in the world soon given their resources and location.

Read my initial post again ;)

He's going to kill the Ligue 1, isn't he? It's not a bad league by any means but the difference in quality is still clear to see for everyone. He should be hitting 20-25 league goals and 30+ in all competitions.

He's already on 3 goals in 2 games without being completely match fit. This is a league that Zlatan owned while being a lesser player than Neymar currently is. Anything less than 30 would be a serious disappointment imo (and would come as a shock).

Yesterday's masterclass.

Game starts at 1:40

How so? He looks perfectly fit to me.

Yeah he definitely hit the ground running, but I follow him on Instagram and he seems to have been partying with friends everywhere in the world except for Paris until roughly ten days ago. Can't imagine he's already at his best level at the moment, but could be wrong obviously.

Not many will agree, but I think Neymar has been better than Messi last couple of years. Even the year where Barca won the treble, I thought Neymar had a better year and his contributions in the CL that year were bigger than Messi.
There's no way that's true. Possible argument that Neymar's performed better in the CL knock-outs but Messi's been clearly superior over the last few seasons.

I absolutely love watching Neymar though, he's such a joy.

Ah ok

Gonna watch more PSG Ligue 1 games

Neymar bringing some entertainment for his money

It's real dude.
And what was astonishing was that it really was a pin-point pass. He basically put it on a plate, for his team-mate to shoot straight into the goal mouth.
Neymar was sensenational in that game.

One player I will absolutley never be able to enjoy simply for the slime of a club he plays for.

Shit defending though. Conceding a set piece goal is usually a result of poor defending. Conceding an overhead goal from a set piece is ridiculously terrible.

Fans at the Parc after Neymar worked his magic

He will be a sensation in the UCL this season.

PSG are possibly the only side that could beat Madrid, maybe Bayern too.

Problem with PSG is that they are mentally fragile, while this Madrid side are made of stern stuff and never know when they are beaten.
With the way PSG defend, I don't see them coming close to Madrid.

HaHa LOL.
