Neymar

Mockneys speech was a bit too long for me. Just look at his face. It is enough.

I think I would like him more if he had a personal tragedy he had to overcome and a bit of hard earned but soul soothing wisdom shone in his eyes.

Right now he looks like a kid who expects everything served on a silver platter and keeps getting it to confirm his conceit.

I had no idea people had given Neymar so much thought. He was poor last night bar the one moment that led to Fred's goal and the corner.....which were the two key moments  and I think he may have managed more elaborate dives in one game than anyone I've seen.

Good morning Mock! Only a couple of hours and it's already time for pay back.

uh huh

You hate him because " EVERYTHING else around him" is wrong with football. Wow! Rational.

Very first line.

I KNOW I hate him for completely irrational reasons.

@Mockney, we get you dislike the chap, but you're kind of clutching at straws as to your reasoning.

Very fir....oh feck it.

I mean, saying he's rich in an impoverished country; well yeah, he's playing in one of the wealthiest sports in the world, and he's one of the most marketable players in the world.

WHY is he one of the most marketable players in the World? Why does such an impoverished country, or those within it need to shell out so much on a player who hasn't yet done nearly enough to be afforded the same adulation or pay rises as other players in that bracket, who've been playing in top leagues for years and proven their worth in tangible terms, purely because they're obsessed with the prospect of promoting one of their own to challenge the Argentinian Messi? Why does everyone think this is just sort of fine!?

It's indicative of the insane stupidity of football, football fans, and football business. He embodies it, whether it's his fault or not.

I'm also not entirely serious you massive shower of gimps.

8. You hate his eyes! Wow! Put up a picture of you instead of moaning about others and let us comment about your lovely eyes. I hope you look like Beckham otherwise you will be shark food on internet.
nt about me being a muppet. I can live with that so I hope you can live this. Swings and roundabouts ;- )

Mockney is much better looking that Beckham. In fact I'd say he second only in online dreaminess to Rimaldo.

Brazil needed a poster boy for the 2014 world cup at home and Neymar was the one chosen. They have been bigging him up for almost 4 years now with very little reason to justify it other than obvious potential.

However he does seem to have started delivering and hes having a very good Confeds cup. If he matures in time for 2014 and goes on to play a significant role in winning it for Brazil, surely it would have all been worth it.

I KNOW I hate him for completely irrational reasons. Reasons that aren't necessarily anything to do with his real personality or how good or bad he is, and that can apply to several other comparable players I don't hate. I just do hate him, and everything he stands for.

I hate the way he looks & styles himself. I hate the way he acts on the pitch. I hate the fact he's a massive drooled over muppet icon & one of the most marketable sportsmen in the world based largely on youtube clips and deferred knowledge. I hate the way Brazillians are desperate to put him on a plinth with Messi entirely to fullfil the Pele role to his Maradona despite not earning it yet. I hate the fact that Pele's already put him there. I hate the fact he's such a hugely rich and fetted person in a largely impoverished country, and hate that it's all the above that have made him so. I hate the fact that he's third party owned, meaning the club who brought him up got jipped on the deal. I hate the fact that Barca are signing him despite being precisely the only player they don't need because their owner wants an ego signing and Neymar's huge, inflated muppet reputation has swayed him. I hate his piggy little lizard eyes. I hate the Nike advert he did that wasn't as good as all the other Nike adverts. I hate his arms & the stupid shit he puts on them.

At the centre of it is a brazilian kid who's really good at football, which is everything right about the game. But EVERYTHING else around him, absolutely everything, from the hype, to the riches, to the stupid hair, to the antics, to the arrogance, to the 3rd party ownership, to the marque signing is everything wrong with football. And as such I genuinely hope he's a huge disappointment and a massive flop and we can point and laugh at him as an example of the stupid excesses & expectations of football.

It's incredibly bitter and childish. I know it is. I don't apologise for it. I hate him.

I'm not gonna slate you for this, Mockers, 'cos I agree with much of it... but isn't this the same sort of thing you took issue with when people were directing it at David Beckham?

He looked amazing at doing the things we love to see, but the cuntishness levels where off the scale. If he cut that shit out then he'd be universally praised IMO.

I literally agree with every single word in this post.

I can understand hating the likes of Terry or Gerrard because at least they play in our league and we have to see them all the time; but what' the point of 'hating' Neymar? Who the feck cares what he's doing?

This...

started playing in my head when I read this...

Don't choose Neymar. Choose life.

Very well put. I love you for hating him so much

Figo with his just for Men hair?

There' a guy with a fine hairstyle.

Mockney is much better looking that Beckham. In fact I'd say he second only in online dreaminess to Rimaldo.
Maybe more handsome but as far as I can see Becks got the brain and knew how to use it. Mocks ended up hating Neymar on Internet when the ugly one earnes shitloads being positive and polite.

Btw. I like Neymar. Spectacular and with charisma. Perfect choice for haters to hate.

I think you all are being too harsh on Neymar. Right he's not at Messi and Ronaldo level yet, not anywhere near. But of all the talents in this world he has better chance than anyone else to get near to that level.

The kid is thriving in a international tournament, with the weight of his whole country on his back.

If that does not show you he is destined for big things I don't know what will.

Sure he dives around a bit but then so do all Latin players, its just what they are taught.

This is an excellent warm up tournament for next year for him, wouldn't surprise me if he went on to tear up the WC.

People can hate on him all they want, kid is a breath of fresh air

What else does he have to do to at least remove this "Robinho mkII" title people keep giving him?

feck knows.

Ridiculous conclusion to reach about a 21 year old in the first place, he's a far more intelligent footballer than Robinho for one.

Barcelona fans are gonna have some fun watching him next season. When he's unselfish he can be a great team player. He'll fit into their passing game just fine and with that attacking quality, he'll do some damage.

People keep saying this as if Robinho was just some hyped up talent from Brazil that achieved nothing. That's not remotely true. He was excellent in the 2007 Copa América and one of the best players in the world for a brief period at Madrid. Neymar's not got there yet.

'One of the best' at quite a stretch and for an extremely brief period of time.

Anyway, doesn't make it any less of a stupid/lazy comparison to make IMO.
