Our Rivals Squad next year - Arsenal

Which top striker is legitimately out there to buy at this stage?

I wouldn't be surprised if Wenger went in for Eto'o now.

Giroud out for 3 months.

On the day Balotelli went to Liverpool as well..........

Que Sera Sera.

Get CL football on Wednesday and offer Falcao a lifeline out of Monaco or make a big offer for Cavani. Wenger must still have friends at Monaco and he knows the PSG owners.

If we can't get in either of those two, well we have survived much worse down the years. Arshavin as our main striker after all of our strikers got injured. Four centerbacks across the backline for a month after all of our full backs went down injured.

I'm actually not that worried, Walcott will be back soon, Ozil will soon be back to his best along with Wilshere and this will give Sanchez a chance to play as our CF. If this was Ramsey/Sanchez/Ozil/Koscielny then I'd be very worried.

Hey we can send you guys Welbeck, just chuck us 20 mil pounds and that Welsh bugger Ramsey in return. Will be a good deal for all parties involved ;)

After his goal I was sure Arsene wasn't going to get another striker, now he probably will.

Giroud isn't going to get you 20 goals in the Prem, he has too many off days. If they get someone who can and you add it to the goals they get from midfield, then they could do very well.

Alexis and Theo, when he's back. Campbell as backup...

Or buy another striker.

Alexis isn't really a striker. Neither is Walcott really.

I think your bunch of attacking midfielders really needs a focal point to play off plus Giroud offered some strength and bite in that team too.

He had 16 last year and Sanchez playing the games that Podolski and Walcott did + Ramsey being back is worth 4 goals. He wasn't a sure thing, but 20 in 35 wasn't beyond him at all.

Mitroglou has completely fallen out at Fulham. Arsenal should figure out how to get Redknapp to take him with Remy going to Arsenal and maybe a loan year for Gnabry at QPR.

Isn't it? Wenger must get a forward now, no doubt about it. Three months (if true) is a long time to go with Sanogo and possibly Sanchez upfront in my opinion.

Remy could be a good addition I reckon. Falcao has just said he is happy in Monaco, though those things rarely mean anything in football, but his salary demands are a bit off-putting.

Has that actually been touted, seems too ridiculous.

Mostly with Liverpool. He and Monaco want a loan, player wants Real Madrid but that's not happening this summer at least. His salary demands are high though.

Hmmm regret letting Lord Nicklas leave already? :p

You're trying too hard mate but they' re not biting.

Ah I wouldn't worry, I'm sure Arsenal will go make an obscure signing of a relatively unknown, average striker. Potentially currently injured too.

As stubborn as Wenger can be I can't see him not buying a striker with Giroud out for 3 months. Falcao would on loan would be the best option but very difficult to make happen I think, I could see Remy or maybe Lavezzi.

But then what about defence?

Callum Chambers played centre back, you know for us Rafael, Shaw, Evans and Rojo were unavailable in the last game and then Smalling had to come off. God forbid Wenger has a game where his first choice right back and left back cannot play and then two of his centre backs are out and another goes off injured.

Giroud out until ''New year'' , Was just reading a mate's status about it and him and his Arsenal friends commenting on the status are extremely worried if Wenger doesn't sign someone this season could end terribly for them. I'd happy take their top 4 spot.

I think Wenger has left it too late. Remy is the most likely choice. If they come inquiring on Welbeck, we should just ask for Ramsey in a swap move, just like they did for TV.:p

Feel really sorry for Giroud, he really seemed to be starting to show how good a striker he is. Not at all sorry for Arsenal or Wenger of course, pity this couldn't have happened a week later but maybe it will divert Wenger from his real issues in CM and defence. Walcott for me to start as striker with Sanchez alongside.

Benatia is off to Bayern and Manolas to Roma. Wondering if we're looking at defenders at all. Still been linked with Welbeck too. DM is most important, Arteta is done and Flamini hasn't looked great.

I think Welbeck could be good for you guys, I think he's more talented than Sanogo in any case.

Are you linked with any DMs specifically?

It looks like Wenger is determined to spoil all the Red Tops back page fun :

There will be no 'panic buys' at Arsenal in the last few days of the transfer window, insists Arsene Wenger. The Gunners boss was speaking ahead of his side's Champions League clash against Besiktas at the Emirates.

"We have plenty of players at centre-forward. In England as soon as you have a problem, people want you to buy".

We have been but they links have all gone a bit cold. I think if we're going to go out and buy a forward they should be an upgrade on Giroud, which I don't think Welbeck is.
I think it's hard to say, cos with Giroud, you've got the finished product and know his strengths and weaknesses, whereas with Welbeck, there's an element of uncertitude I'd say. I believe that making him the focal point of an attack and giving him the main role up front could really elevate him a notch, and I think he'd fit in quite well with your style, but of course that's just my feeling, I can understand why many wouldn't agree.

Can't Sanchez play CF? Mind you he looks afraid of the Premier League players though.
