Paul Pogba

Dissapointing speculation but if you live by the sword and all that.

United need to get him nailed down to a new deal ASAP by the sounds of it.

He is 18 and at the league champions ffs. Who does he think he is?

Not only that, but we have a great track record in terms of bring through young players from the academy into the team. Surely he's smart enough to look at the likes of Beckham, Scholes, Nevilles etc. etc. and think "hang on a minute, I'm in good here. This club probably knows what they're doing with me."

Although he'd probably think it in French.

You would assume Sir Alex knows too though, no?

It seems unlikely he would have said that if he had less than a year on his contract at the time.

Unlikely, but possible. What is the point of these leaks if his contract runs until 2013?

Fergie's been known to tell a few porkies and to stretch the truth when it suits him.

If this lad is as good as we all seem to think he is, then we need to get him nailed down to a contract ASAP. It would be extremely disappointing to say the least if we lost him, and it would be even worse if we lost him to a rival.

If there is any truth to this, and I hope there isnt, this would make the club look weak as it and the manager are always publicizing that it would rather bring through its own young talent than spend big money on proven players. If this sort of thing happens and a talent like Pogba leaves then it puts the manager in an awkward position and again will put a question mark on how the club is run which is speculation the club can do without.

There will be no question mark on how the club is run because a 19yr old leaves the club.

nonsense, didn't we fight hard to keep Rooney even when he threaten to leave....

id be gutted if we lost him based on him not getting game time over the likes of darren fecking fletcher

I always thought the reason that we didn't blow loads of cash on star names in the summer was because we had the likes of Pogba and Morrison waiting to come in from the lower ranks. It'll be interesting to see how he performs tonight, I can't help but feel that we could have handled this better though especially if he shows form now and the likes of Citeh or some of the big guns across Europe tell him they'll pay him silly money if he holds his ground until contract runs out.

Did we have that sort of crisis when Piqué left us? Or when Rossi left us? They were more high profile than Pogba too, you know.

I am really sorry mate but that is absolute non-sense.

Pogba going won't be the end of the world, but it be frustrating considering most here have high hope of him making it with us.

Some serious overreaction here. We dont even know when his contract really expires. And ppl still believing British newspapers stories and get upset about it is a bit silly

im far from a youtuber..and cant stand all the wankers on here who spout off about foreign prospects like they have seen them scores of times....ive seen all his first team appearences....2 of them live and read all the hype coming out of united about him. he is a player we put a great deal of effort in getting here, a great deal of effort in improving him and sombody we are looking to be a future star.

all i am saying is that it would be a terrible shame in loosing such a player to our main rivals, especially as he plays in a position where we arent as strong as other departments and where we have suffered a number of injory's and poor form. so how many times i have seen him is a totally irrelevant statistic isnt it?

I wouldnt go as far as the poster has suggested,Because at times he has been a brilliant player for us, but think carefully about the situation, was Darren Fletcher better than Paul Pogba is now when he was introduced to first team action ,no he was not.

Everybody knows the amount of time Darren Fletcher was given to improve as a player and the amount of first team opportunities,So therefore if he was given the chance why shouldnt Pogba and Morrison.

Then would they improve to a better level than Darren Fletcher or Darren Gibson for that matter are currently at? Its just my opinion because anything can go wrong in a young players career, but i believe they would exceed those players i just mentioned .

There is no smoke without fire as we've previously seen with the likes of Evra, Vidic etc. I think these reports are true, and that he really wants to go. feck him if he wants to leave the club.

There is a system in place when it comes to bringing youth players to the first team, something SAF alluded to in a recent interview. There's no way he's going to promote someone straight to the first team without even a considerable number of reserve ties under his belt.

At pogba's age, he should look at progressing as a player. Few clubs are as good as us when it comes to that. Its a matter of priorities really. Unless he's really deluded, it wont be 1st team opportunities that'd make him switch to the likes of City or Arsenal. Both have better CMs than us. If its cash that's on his mind so early in his career, its a tad sad imo.

Fletch came up through the ranks too. He put a lot of work and effort into making it in the first team, while people were always putting him down saying he wasn't good enough and he should be sold.

For a period of time there, he was our best midfielder. Regardless of how people perceive our midfield, he still deserved his spot in there because of his displays. He's come back from a horrible virus which quite clearly took a whole lot out of him.

I want to see the likes of Pogba get chances too, but putting other players down in the process is out of order IMO.

How do you know?

How many reserve games have you watched Pogba play in central midfield?

He was in the Youth Cup last year, so it's extremely arrogant of him to think that he can break into the first team a year later. I don't understand his logic nor the logic of his agents, especially when money is not that important at this stage of his career, as we can afford pretty much every youngster in the world at Man United.

(Just in case there is any truth in this)

If some 18-year old or even his stupid manager think they know better than Fergie they can pack their things and feck off. I'm not saying that Pogba is responsible for all this shite in the press, but there hardly is ever smoke without fire. There is no doubt the club and most of us supporters would be gutted to see him leave due to his potential, but on the other hand it would only be his loss. He's at one of the best clubs regarding youth development, is on the brink of breaking into the first team and has the greatest manager ever to show him the way. If that isn't enough I couldn't care less whether he leaves or not.

Oh, and I'd rather have five Darren Fletchers - a player who has made more than 300 appearances for our club and shown his worth and reliability time and time again - than some kid who thinks first team-apperances are pretty much guaranteed, no matter how big the potential is.

Fletcher was fecking good at youth or reserves level, so good that Fergie wanted to give him a debut at 16 but was prevented by some rule I think.

More nonsense. Like you are qualified to say.
