Pogba

God that shows why we are so far from top-3 teams, Too many players are earning millions without contributing much ( I exclude last year Cavani though)

we can save almost 60M per annum just on salaries by getting rid of these players and also we can add few good signings

Looks like last 9 years transfer mistakes are too costly as i dont think we got many best players after spedning almost 900M.
May be we can exclude Sancho/Varane/Bruno but i dont think others are really worth that money, you guys think AWB/Maguire/Pogba/Fred/Martial/Mata/Matic are really worth their transfer fees?

I am really feeling sad and angry that Ed made so many mistakes and didnt put any football people to made transfer calls and it took 8.5 years to bring in some one like Ralf in some capacity, pity is it was also happened just because we had to sack Ole in middle of the season, God we were really clueless...isnt it ?
Why what did he contribute? 6 league goals from September to April as a centre forward? 2 of them in one game and 1 in a 9-0 win. Amazing contribution. Puts Martial, Rashford and Greenwood to shame.

Eh? Absolute nonsense. He’s a CF who scored three league goals before January and three more from January to April. He had a good end to the season, then we begged him to stay so much that we agreed to give him an extended summer holiday, which he thanked us for by asking to play most of the start of the season in Uruguay and has since been injured with a slight strain for months while rumour persists of a move to Barca.

Good job we didn’t pay a fee for him, we’d have been fleeced. Still have been at this point. He doesn’t want to be here and would rather play anywhere but by the sounds of it.

Hardest worker, have you got stats to back that up?

He’s done nothing and clearly does not put the club first like other players who actually returned from pre season early to help us out.

I really feel people need to differentiate between…’he runs about a lot I like it’ and actual contribution, like a great first touch and link play, not missing sitters at crucial times….scoring regularly etc. In addition people certainly need to differentiate between ‘he runs about a lot I like it’ and somehow that equating to ‘he can do whatever he likes off the pitch’

Fecking hell. Do you just argue with people for the sake of it?

He was one of if not our best player the second half of last season, and he's the hardest working player on that list. I don't see how any of this is up for debate.

Basically you've thrown your toys out of the pram because Cavani hasn't played much this season.

The Uruguay issue was created by the government putting it in the red list, not by Cavani, and in any case no longer applies. Other then that he's just been injured and sometimes just not preferred ahead of Ronaldo. Maybe get a grip?

Also a really weird player to target from that list considering you have two there who are going to leave on a free, one of who uses his agent repeatedly to slag the club off to the media and the other who posts pictures of himself in other team's kits, another who wants to leave and another who's been taking a wage for years to literally not do anything.

Cavani is a fecking model professional compared to half our squad. He also only originally wanted to stay for 1 year and then the club decided to extend it due to him doing so well, which was such a minor financial inconvenience they then went and signed Ronaldo afterwards. Not exactly something any sane person would put on him as a negative and not exactly an example of the club wasting it's money either.

He really wasn’t our best player in January, February or March…..he scored 3 goals and didn’t play particularly well. He had a good April and May and did very little prior to that.

The club didn’t extend his contract against his wishes, we wanted him to stay another season and he happily took the offer and the money, and has since barely featured and to date from the list of players….he’s done by far the least for us to warrant good will.

Regardless of whether it was a government red list…..he still wanted to go rather than be here and would’ve missed plenty of the opening games of the season, was happy to not be ready for the start of the season and there has been consistent talk of him leaving since around this time last year…..but that’s ok because ‘runs a lot’

why are we even still talking about this guy....he isn't signing a new contract so sell his sorry ass along wiht his fellow frenchman Martial

Let's call it as it is; Pobga should never have been brought back to the club. He wasn't what we needed then and isn't what we need now.
Great talent etc.., but failed to deliver consistently; he always likes to be in the limelight. He has an agent that can't shut up, which has caused the fans to dislike the player, time to go.

Why not get even a little money for him in January? Impossible given his wages? I truly do not understand the point of him staying. Sometimes I forget he's still at the club.

I've said it before, but your preoccupation with Cavani is one of the more bizarres things I've read on these pages. It's like that other poster (Canagel?) who has basically slagged Bruno off from the day he arrived.

Nice one

It’s impossible to sell this kind of players, around 30 yo, wage too big, always injured, zero commitment + the agent commission

Can find a club only as a free agent

He is the next Bale, Hazard

Pogba and Fernendes behind the strikers. I think Ronaldo will trive with that.

Any prospective club may as well save their money and wait until the summer - there won't be much competition for his signature.

I really hope we can get him out in January and a small fee.

Says a lot about his time here, when he says his best moment at United was the day he came back.

Pity he didn't do anything of note since that day in a Red Shirt.

If Pogba hasn't done anything of note, then no one has, which then absolves Pogba. United has just been a shit club for a while

I won't be surprised if he predicted cavani would be a failure when we signed him and he doesn't like him purely because he's been proven wrong, hence the agenda driven posts against cavani.

Cavani might not have scored enough or assisted enough but the effort on the pitch drives the rest of the team to try harder when he’s on the pitch. I think he’s been a brilliant signing and addition and something pogba should aspire to be like to warrant a new contract here.

Have a check through the thread when he signed, I’ve no idea whether I posted or not but I don’t recall being anything other than happy that he signed, it’s easy enough to do. I’ve no problem being wrong and no agenda, check my posts at the end of last season and the EL final.

Perhaps I just don’t think he’s been great. Perhaps 6 goals from sept to April doesn’t really make me think he’s had a great season as a CF. Perhaps I don’t think he’s committed, which is fine at his age etc but let’s call it what it is. Perhaps being injured 50% of his time isn’t for me worthwhile.

That’s not agenda it’s my opinion and if you want to call it agenda then you will do me the honour of checking my posts in his performance thread.

Your like a bunch of teenage girls ffs. It’s only an opinion. I don’t think he’s been great besides two months of last season. It seems like he wants to leave and has for a while and he isn’t as committed to us as he is his country.

There would be statistics to back this up...do you have them?

Thing that rubs me the wrong way on Pogba is he's so intent on leaving for free or bilking us for every last cent...despite the fact that we paid $25m agent fee when we bought him. That agent fee essentially goes to the player via the agent and inspite of such low over his time here and despite his high wages he has no qualms trying to leave on a free.

Pogba 325k, Cavani 250k, Martial 250k, Lingard 100k, Mata 100k, Matic 120k, Jones 90k.

Hell of a lot of money right there who could and should all be gone by start of next season.

This club has been an absolute shambles in the transfer market for far too long. We need to start unearthing gems again and going for exciting young players and stop paying these obscene wages.
Bissaka, James, Donny, Pellestri, Amad + a lof signings of possible future gems in the academy. It´s just that no one can look into the future, and if you only sign young, promising players, we´ll never be anything else than a promising team.

Juve paid the agent fee I think. He had a percentage clause in the contract from the initial move.

Only one post when he signed (honestly not bothered just bored :) )

Pogba definitely looking for offers and only will consider staying here if he is not paid the same we offering or already paying. He never seemed like truly care for the club unfortunately. Maybe when he will speak with Ralf things can change!

Blame his agent, on the face of it, he's trying to get the best for his client. In reality, he's gone too far, to the detriment of Pogba's career.

  Fair enough….I don’t recall that! But must’ve been about the age and injury record or perhaps seemed like a club siging and a step backwards to Falcao BFS etc

No worries I stand corrected….don’t think it has any baring on my opinion on his performances to date, I call performances as I see them though. I’ve no issue with being wrong.

Fingers crossed he leaves. Imagine having Paul Pogba on 400k+ a week for the next four years?

Please God no, just let him leave. Most overrated football player of his generation.

Why do you think he leaves in Jan? He and his agent are so selfish they angle fpr a free transfer in summer so they both get huge bonus/agent fees
