What are Alan Curbishley and Alex McLeish up to these days?
Too early, but either way, it's got to be Zidane. He'd come here, and win the CL in a heartbeat.
If we're as big as we say we are, we should just take Pep from City.
First job- manchester united. Great way to lose season or two while he is learning .Player to manager - yes conveniently ignore that.
Simeone would be my first choice, Poch second with Jardim third.
I've always had a things for managers who breed that winning, warrior mentality into their players and who would give up everything to win. It's why I'm a big fan of Simeone.

Player- coach in smaller/average club- big club ; that is the way how things should work. Not in the way-" hey, i am club legend so i deserve job here". Being a world class player does not mean that you are world class manager material. Look at neville, maradona, seedorf, gattuso...
And lets not look at Zidane? Guardiola?

Surely people can't be this dense...Zidane and Guardiola are actually good managers. They didnt just walk up to their clubs and demand being the manager, they showed that they are competent. Both spent time in the B teams and quickly showed that they have potential.
If memory serves me correctly, Giggs lost to Sunderland in his caretaker role. As assistant manager under LVG he was a mute.
Have a look at our current manager to see what an actual competent manager is like, Both LVG and Bryan Robson considered Jose Mourinho as a future top manager while he was their assistant.
That threw me for a second but you obviously mean Bobby.Surely people can't be this dense...Zidane and Guardiola are actually good managers. We might be looking for a new manager sooner than we think. The way Jose is talking up the project at PSG hints at the fact he may have been sounded out for the PSG Job. Managing PSG would certainly appeal to him in terms of salary, lifestyle and transfer budgets. If Jose leaves for the bright lights of Paris I would like us to sign in order Jardim, then Simeone then Carlo Ancelotti. Jardim would be the first choice because he plays exciting football and can achieve success on a limited budget. Simeone is a winner and would instill a warrior like attitude at the club however it wouldn't be champagne football. Carlo Ancelotti is the old pro that has a coaching record that's second to none and is a classy person to boot. I would not want Giggs as he has no credentials and would be a very high-risk appointment.
Never should it ever be AncelottiNot sure how long Jose Mourinho will stay at the club, surely another 2/3 seasons atleast, hopefully more - but re: the next manager, I'm almost at a blank. Any names caught your eye, someone you would like to take over, assuming Jose Mourinho has steadied the ship?
Pochettino, err Giggs, Ancelotti, etc
Yeah, finally give him enough rope. He's always going on about not getting the big jobs because he's not foreign (not because he plays hoofball).Big Sam for me.
Whoever comes he is fecked. We need a coach who would win every game with 3,4 goals, have 20 shots, play attacking direct football in every game, win titles, play youth and buy only players age 20-24 who are already world class. Oh yes, that coach also must be in his prime years, with great title wining record and with desire to stay here another 20 years
No, manager is not hit or miss. Same goes for buying players. If you scout a player/ manager then you decrease chances that he would be a miss.So managing the B team is good enough to prove you're a senior manager?
The only people dense here are those thinking "you have to prove your worth in the lower leagues first and then manage a top side". It never works like that. Management is hit and miss. Moyes "proved his worth" for a decade doing very well with a very pool Everton side. How did he fair when he got the big job? Zidane proved almost nothing and how did he fair? LVG was the most experienced manager who had won trophies all over and what happened?
Management isn't that straightforward. It is always a gamble who you give the job to. I would want use to take a gamble on Giggs.

Ok, you want that giggs take charge one of the biggest and richest clubs in the world ( by that i mean one of the most difficult jobs in football)?
Based on what? His style of play? Formation? Good transfer record? Winning record? Do you see now what i want to say? You want to hire someone basically only because he was great player.
